Soap’s guide to reporting posts.
Here at skaterscafe we encourage you to report posts that you do not approve of. The posts you report help to keep our forum clean, but at the same time fun.
Why should I report posts?:
Its simple really….to be a good member. If you see a posts that you don’t like, one that is offensive, one that is harassing another member, us staff want to know about it. Why sit back and watch other members being bullied or being flamed?, you need to step in and click that little button.
Not only does it help to improve the forum, but its keeps the moderators job going as well, plus you get a forum which is friendly, fun to be on, and a place to chill without fear of harassment.
How can I report posts?:
In the top right-hand corner of everyone’s post there is 3 faded words.
Report, quote, quick reply.

When you see a post you deem unfit to be on the forum, just go to the post the offender made and click the report button out of the 3 faded buttons to choose from. Clicking this button opens a new page in which you will find a blank box, the box looks like this.

In this box you should type out the reason why you are sending this report. E.G.
“Sk8er14 has been racist towards O11ie4 for no apparent reason, and Sk8er14 has become upset”
It doesn’t have to be a long essay, just quickly state why you are reporting the post, the members involved and click the button to send the report.
What happens when I send my report?:
Once you have sent your report it sends a PM to the moderators which are moderating that forum, and to the global moderators who have access to mod every forum.
In the e-mail it shows your report and the mod can get straight onto applying the correct punishment or deleting the reported post.
Will everyone know I reported someone?:
I can 100% guarantee that your report sent will stay between you and the moderator who receives it. Its all in confidentiality and no one will even know that a report has been sent. No one will be put on the spot, and no one will be humiliated for sending a report.
What things should I report?:
Racism:
Definitely send a report for this, Racism is not tolerated on skaterscafe forums and any report of racism will be took seriously and the appropriate punishment will be dealt. Although if something you post looks racially offensive and it isn’t meant to, please make this known to other café members, put it in big bold letters where everyone will see it, making sure that you have justified it to not be taken offensively.
Abuse:
If you, or another member is being abused on the forum, I.e. people starting arguments with you, harassing for no reason, do not hesitate to send a report. We at the café want all of our members to feel comfortable here and to not have to look out for people who may wish to harass others.
Don’t sit there and take it because remember, they may not just be doing it to you, send a report so we can sort it out.
This also applies to “flaming” another member, make sure all types of abuse are nipped in the bud.
Pornography:
Pornography on the boards is not allowed in any way, shape or form. Period. If it is seen by the moderator or administrator it will be removed immediately, and a permanent ban will be issued for the person who posted it.
If you see anything pornographic on the boards, we want a report sent immediately!. Although some of you guys don’t mind it, we have children on this forum as young as 8 years old. This is a family orientated board and we want it to stay clean.
Spam:
If you see it, do your thing and report it. Spam is just a way to heighten post count, make pointless, stupid posts and is annoying to see.
This also goes for people who have recreated old threads, make a polite post saying how they could use the “search bar” next time and send a post making the moderator aware of the Spam. Although these kids may not know that we have a “search bar” its best to make them aware and be done with it.
We don’t want countless threads on the same topic, report one if you see one.
Swearing:
Don’t do it. Here at the café we are lucky to have a brilliant word filter which, in the case of someone swearing, changes the word into little asterisk’s. You have to remember that although you guys are mature and at a age where swearing is normal, we have the younger members who are influenced by what you say and do.
We don’t want to have e-mails sent by angry parents, or getting into contact with us because there child is copying words they have seen displayed on skaterscafe. Report swearing when you see it, because if one a word gets past the filter, which does happen, its needs to be edited out.
Advertisements:
Direct links to places for downloads, online shopping and such are not allowed. A report should be sent for anyone who has done this.
Unless they have stated that a admin has allowed them to do so.
Keep these things in mind guys!. Help keep the café a clean and fun place to be, thanks for reading.
