Tell you what, to start you off. Write SINE. Easyyyy letters to start with, take enigmatics advise and go straight letters.

Just a few suggestions for all you would-be piecers:

Don't be afraid to make changes to your drawings with paint.

Work in layers, and remember the next layer can be used to correct the previous.

It's always easier to paint from a midtone, so lay down a wash of color over your drawing before you start filling.

It's a good idea to study color theory and letterforms, maybe even take a calligraphy class. It will help you stylize your letters more effectively.

The best graffiti artists really branch off in their own direction and create letters unlike anyone else. I mean, it's all good to mimic styles while you're learning, but at some point you have to come up with your own style.

yeah sometimes I rap in my posts. But seriously, what I am trying to say is graffiti is not "fine art" per say. But it takes just as much skill and dedication, and if your not willing to throw your weak ass toy "peices" out there to be hated on then your not cut out to improve and perform. Seriously go back to like page one, I was a huge toy. I got beaten down about it. I pushed through it and kept working. That way a year and a half ago I suppose.

1.5 years is not a lot of time in the graffiti community. Its the end of the "toy" phase for most. But honestly, if in 1.5 years of writing im still calling MYSELF a toy, then what on gods green earth makes you think your weeks practice is going to render you as anything but...

Work on straights before anything. And like, regular straights like the Hollywood Letters. Not straights like Dr. Sex or Agske, just regular straights. Look up Ich, there was one of his straights in a previous post, I think it was soap who posted that.

Izi, Imagine is a big Philly head I think, and that's also a lot of letters to work with. Try something four letters that's easy to work with. Like.. Krisp or Sike. Those should be really easy to work with. Just work with normal letters though man, not going crazy with awkward shapes. Go for straights with a ruler, so they can be even.

Same thing I said before. Don't throw weird shapes up there. It's meant to be legible, even if only to graff writers. Just work on simple straight letters, I recommend the same things to you as I did Izi.

i cant do peices worth ****, but when you are bored in every single class and you are blessed with blank paper... you draw. i tried to do a peice of my friends name in math on the board today but it seriously looked like someone wrote it with their foot

It's just a word written down, with no formation whatsoever and then colored in with no greater scheme than that. It's going to proceed to be ugly as it is until you learn basic things like letter formation and colors that actually look nice together, rather than.. what you're doing. Dude, Ok. I'm not going to get heated at all don't worry. But why are you dissing all my works, when they look like most tags in and around all cities. I can do blockbusters, and I guess I'll keep 'em going, but I can already do them fine, so I decided to start doing pieces.

And on color schemes, I've taken a crap load of art classes, so I know how color works. I see green, blue, light blue, and yellow as a fine choice. Especially since when you go down the spectrum it goes ....violet, BLUE, LIGHT BLUE, GREEN, light green, YELLOW....

But I'll try to do what you say, even though I can do 'em fine.

Well if your posting it here I sugjest not doing so. Even soo, its always cool to come up with your own name, that youve never heard anyone use before. It just makes your writing better. For me anyways, My tagging name is Sizc, Case and Wings. I use Sizc and Wings the most though. And ive never heard the name Sizc.

Izi, that's so much better. Art class won't really get you anywhere in graffiti though. Truth is Long_Jetty's word though, as LEC said so I'd recommend sticking to a different name. Try something simple like Sank.

The thickness is supposed to be in and out, it's a wacky piece...I was basing this off one of Zephyr's tags(famous NYC guy) he did as an End to End....and the character I just threw up there.

Now Engima on the simples thing. What is something I can do that isn't Hollywood Blockbuster stuff(since I can do that fine), but not crazy pieces?

Are there any tags/pieces you can show me, or anyone in that matter, so I can do stuff like that?

Would stuff like the Truth one I did, be stuff I should practice more of?

Enigmatic, I don't even do regular like, blockbusters or straight straights. I can do some and flick if you'd like.

Just some new stuff, a bubble(I screwed up the thumb bad I know, which is weird since my best drawing skill is drawing hands...eh whatever, I must have rushed it), and then another small piece....
