krylon sucks i only use montana. but then again i don't bomb much and montana is to nice to waste on bombing. i like piecing alot better.

krylons not bad with some New York caps or whatever. Lol get a pink tip and go wild, BIG MESS.

I hear montana has way nicer colors and is nice even with OUT a cap. Soo...

Im thinking about picking some up. Is it really work the like 4 or 5 extra bucks per CAN. That can get hella pricey really fast.

i do mostly stencil work, i live ina really small town and im kinda know for being the only one who does graff, so i am laying low for a while. ill try to get up some pics, i wouldnt worry about posting illegals, this isnt a graff forum so cops wouldnt really be checking it.

Stencil like... Toy? Or stencil like... Stencils. Ive seen some really insane stencils on this overpass. Its sick. I think they lowered themself with a rope or something... I dont know how some people climb like that.

do yourself a favor, if you decide to coem to our park, leave the markers and paint at home....

What is there no art wall? Is graffing illegal at that park. Some parks actually allow graff on the ramps and art walls. Others its just illegal.

My park has a legal wall.

Nah man I just see a lot of toys running around with some god awful stencils tagging there stuff over peices from some big names.

But I have seen one sick stencil artist that goes REALLY big with his stencils. like HUGE. He carrys them around rolled up and then lets them unravel off the side of a building or whatever. Lowers himself down and tags it huge.

I have a picy of my first try EVER.

This was the first time I ever picked up a can of spray paint and shook it up. I remember i was listening to that sound they make. And yes I do know it sucks so go ahead and laugh. even I laugh when I look back at this.

im running low on paint now tho, and im also running low on tips, i think im going to just buy some walmart cans and just buy a pack of NY fats and thins till i can get some cash....

Yeah I got this thing against bombing science. Anyway you can get tips, or caps, whatever there called lol off various websites. NY fats are a fav. of a lot of artists. Anyway that second peice in paint isnt bad at all. Especially for 2 or 3 weeks. Im assuming you went and did an outline. Then did a fill, and another outline? The first one is well... Not nearly as good. But whatever the second one is nice.

Your name shouldnt be to long or else you cant tag it. But remember that you can still write whatever you want as long as you sign your peice. So its not THAT big a deal. But it should be memorable so that word gets around fast.

Personally I think it's a seriously bad idea to post pictures of any illegal art you guys have done - this is a public forum guys.

However, black books would be awesome. I don't have any pictures of mine, and I'm pretty useless at it too. I try though :D

I'd love a blackbook war - I'd for sure be a toy though. It would rule though.

You wanted intsructions on making a marker, I know loads of ways to make markers. This is the easiest most basic one i've learnt about. Find a bottle of some sort (Glue stick, Chap stick, Drink bottle, Medicine bottle, film canister (if it leaks fill the leak with candlewax)) Empty the bottle out and At the end of the bottle where you put the stuff in it should be the size you want your tip to be. Fill the bottle with your ink or paint and then stuff a strip of blackboard eraser in the hole of the bottle. Use glue or duct tape to put around the eraser felt to keep it in their. If the paint or ink isnt coming out try thinning your ink/paint or making the felt smaller.

Here's the first one I made, I used a sponge instead of a felt from an eraser which made the lines a bit worse, but it still worked ok.

And here's one of many instructions i found on bombingscience:

its a film canister.
you put cotton balls or felt in it, saturate them with ink, add a very tight nib (rolled up felt) glue it a lil bit but not too much or itll wreck it.
use stock lid if you make nib have a low enough profile.
wrek stuff.

not hard.
a dope way to make a marker is take an old paint marker, take the cap and nib and valve and all the extra parts besides the tube off.
cut the tube down to like 4 inches long or so, so its real compact.
roll up felt and pour ink in it, then add a nib and find a cap.
caps can be made of anything, just look for roundstuff with one open end.

another awesome marker is a do it yourself flopen

you take a posterman, zig 2way glue, woodcraft, garden craft, any marker you want really with a big nib.
all those can be found in various sizes at michaels.
take it home, take the top and the neck off. throw the valve and **** in the trash with the watery paint you poured out of it.
keep the cap, nib, and plastic top kind of screw on part.

set the nib aside, you might need it for a replacement on another marker.

use felt or any material you want to make a nib, and basically fold down some felt into a long rectanguler shape thatll fit in this marker. use a tiny tiny bit of krazy glue on each short side of the nib, so it doesnt clog the nib up, just enough to keep it in place.
fill resovior with ink, screw on top with the home made nib, and cap it.

the zig markers are really easy squeezy, so you can make it drip if you want it to.

also, you can just use the stock nib instead of going through extra trouble to make one, but its more likely to fall out and leak large drops of ink all over once its slightly used.

especially on garden craft markers. those nibs fall out alot.

the end.

Also, this is how I make my paint for my marker, it works really well. Buy some bucket paint of any colour, fill your bottle up with 2/3 of the bvucket paint and then 1/3 with paint thinner or nail polish remover. And if you want the paint to dry into walls or whatever so its hard to get off, add some brake fluid or fish oil.

Ugh I hate only having a pen. And no camera.

I tag Skeme. I'm working on a quick tag (marker style or whatever - like a scrawl). I'm having trouble connecting the last three letters - the e.m.e. Any tips? Or just tips on tag designing in general?

Well I cant tell what your planning to do with them.

i mean you could use paint and tag th em with a skinney tip. Or you could use a mop or marker or something and tag them up like that. But i cant tell what your trying to do. You need some better pens btw because it would look way b etter a little thicker.

All i plan on doing is useing them with a wide tipped marker as just tags at parks, and any ramps or boxes that me and my dad might build, i'll use spray paint. Also i'm planning on using a wide tipped marker with the tags at some of my skatespots. I don't know if i'm going to get started on throw-ups or pieces unless we have some legal art walls around town. Maybe, just maybe i'll move up to spray paint at the local parks. I dunno.

I looked at those on the run markers, and i really dont think i'll be needing to get any. My mom is all into art, and i'll bet she has some markers similiar to that, and if not, then i could probably get something similiar to those at an office supplies store or something. Right?

Ok thanks. Ya i know the markers i was using were just metallic/colored sharpies, and their tips are really sensitive. I think i'm going to go with the lime tag, and i'm going to get some broader tipped markers. I will still look into those on the run markers. Thanks a lot.

I wouldn't go writing any of those tags in public yet, i'm not writing my tags yet either, because there not good enough. I suggest you just start from scratch and keep the letters simple, don't try addons, just do some letters with some nice flow, simple letters.

Oh btw, I'm not really sure what my pen is called I don't understand the terms for markers yet, but I think it's a flowpen (just guessing)...

anyone want to have a handstyle battle? if anyone wants to do the word "graffiti" and post sumthing up tommorrow

Flowpens: You controll the flow of ink by actually squeezing the side of the pen. Making more flow into the nib and onto the surface.

Mop: Meant for large handstyles, a very thick pen with a thick nip (top of the pen, the part where the ink comes out)

Pen: Normal pens are meant for sketching. If you can afford it, get Prisma Color, Those RULE! also Faber Castell.

Oh I got to study a little french today but im free all night, I guess i got nothing better to do so...

Well my blackbook has a totally black leather cover. With white paper. I also have a sketchbook but htat has a white cover and bindings. I like my blackbook more though...

Sweet.

Black books are called black books because they contain work that you might not want other people to see. Rule of thumb is you see another artists black book, you dont go through it. As you can see by my building sketch yeah, blackbooks can be used for anything. Im working on a dope blackbook cover. Im thinking of making a stencil and taping it on. Then spraypainting silver. That would look sick.

Hey anyone up for a battle with the word "graffiti", cmon just for fun.

Ill think about it but im working on a peice right now. Im gonna be on all night so you can aim me or whatever. lol im thinking of asking a girl out with this peice lol! But thats got to be the tightest way ever. Spray paint tehre house.... No. Maybe a warehouse somewhere ill have to start looking...

Newsflash. Im in for a battle if anyone wants to do it... But I would rather use the word LOVE because that gives me an excuse to A. Work on this peice and B. Have fun in a battle lol! So if we can change the word to love im in.

1. It doesnt suck. It just needs a lot of work.

Okay so quit with the 3 D for a while and get your letters right. You cant have ill threeday with out sick letters. Get a NICE SMOOTH flow with that pen and write slowly and patiently. One letter at a time. Just sketching. Choose a word and do this over and over. THEN Add colour. After you have colour you add your 3D and your Bits and Addons or whatever else you like. But this is rushed. I can tell it took about 20 minuetes. You need to TAKE YOUR TIME.

Its to rushed. Whats the temp like over there? Umm... Anyways good job, your deffinetly improving fast but you were scribbling all over hte place. When your doing fills, pull the can back farther.

yeah the trouble i had was the wind was soooo strong, when i held the can far away like i normally do, the wind just blows it away, i wasted alot of pait :( not sure what the temp is but the wind is FREEZING!!!!!

Well, I must say i'm quite pleased with myself! This is probably the cleanest throw up i've done yet. Check it out, and any tips on it would be nice to, well apart from that the 3d sucks! lol.

The first and second letter were done a LITTLE sloppier. While the last, and the one before last are almost perfect. The 3D needs a little more work, but its way b etter than some of the others you posted. I showed you some tips for 3D on instant messenger so that shouldnt be a problem. Its all in the can controll, and you learn that through practice so its not a big deal. Keep writing.

THATS WHAT I WAS SAYING.

The 3D is like a natural extension of the outline. THat sort of floows off the peice. Good job. Internet hi five. Make it a LITTLE smoother and your golden. Then try working on a harder throwie or peice or whatever.

Awesome. Theres really nothing that needs to be done...

Except to get a real marker. I reccomend those HUGE on the run markers..

However im not so sure about postage. I beleive there made in europe somewhere though. In any case I reccomend picking up lots of those. Because you might mess up the nib. And tag that everywhere. Just get your name up. Its really good enough now. Then do some quick bombs or throwies with fill or whatever.

Thats sweet. But you should sort of "squeezze" the word. For instance, place the letters closer together. So the word flows like one letter sortof.

Tight. The extensions need work but its a start. The extensions need to flow like part of the word, in a sence even a word like GAME should appear almost SYMETRICAL when you look at it. Like in that vid I sent you (the documentary) If you look at that one writers peice all of the words look like there one letter. Even though you can read them. I think he talked about that style and flow thing.

graffiti store? Some towns have local "paint shops" that cater to graffit artists. Some skateshops even sell Montana so I wouldnt be surprised if they had new york tips...

Search for "Graffiti In !*@#()%^&!@" And find a dealer.

Bleh I spent all yesterday painting. I did a huge handstyle on the back of a police station.

On the electrical box, my freind was laughing so hard I thought he would wake the whole neighboorhood up. But its not a real police station, more like a place where renta cops hang out and eat doughnuts when there not patrolling the mini malls.

Then we went to the skatepark and tagged that place up bigtime. Theres a legal wall that we went bizzerrk on. Again. Using up almost all my paint... He owes me about 50 dollars in paint and markers and food.

bottle of paint is cheaper and less expensive than spray cans

and marker im talkin so u just grab a marker u find rip it out put in a tip and instant tag fun like in stores or school

Have you ever held a can of paint in your life.

Its 3 bucks. For krylon. 6 for montana. And you can rack it. Not that im saying you should. But honestly it would be more expensive, and more time consuming, to make spray paint, then it would b e to just buy it. Not to mention spray paint comes in aerosol cans. Thus the spray in the spray paint. With out the spray, theres no painting. Comprende?

i was at the graffiti showroom at Art Primo last friday. Its awesome. I have no way to describe it, its litteraly some guys HOUSE. PACKED with supplies hes selling. and then theres the art wall. they hold competitions and stuff. its a good time all around.

I see it. I personally don't think it has enough flow to it. I like the first few letters H & C but the Idno work on the structure. Maybe if you drew it cleaner itd look better. Change the H on the end aswell. I just think the 2? or S need work and the last H needs work and itd look much better.

Enigmatic - I actually did the S before I say Jetty's work. I think that might be what I don't like about it actually...I'll draw up another piece sometime soon and see what I can do. Maybe I'll shade it as well.

Oh, and about the paint - I have no caps, so everything comes out big and thick. I much prefer pencil and pen at the moment.

Too bad the cops took my computer with all my photos when I used to do graff. I quit graff now though, for something even better which is skating. If i can manage to dig up some of my stuff i'll post on here.

Im sorry but that sounds like such crap. The cops wouldnt take your computer for graffiti. unless you were doing drugs it wouldnt have been a problem. Misdeminor at best. And as a minor you would have gotten off with a slap on the wrist and a few hours of community service. But if this is true you must have gotten up like crazy. I just cant immagine quitting graff or skatin. My two loves.

Stickers.

Stickers, are fun, you see them everywhere. You can not only make a LOT of them, but make BIG ones and put them up in broad daylight. Some well placed sticker armys can draw a LOT of attention. But stickers, are expensive. Not only do you have to BUY the posterboard. MAKE the wheatpaste. BUY the markers. You also have to somehow find the time to MAKE the stickers....

So if your into slap taggin up busses and trains and stuff. Go to www.usps.com

Make an account

Go to suplies.

Order the mailing labels. they come in two sizes. And are item number 12?? I cant remember. You can order 500 at a time. These are generic graffiti supplies in the US. There self adhesive and can cover an entire window. If you take your time and slap enough in enough good locations it can get you a lot of publicity. Not to mention you can use these in broad daylight, and nobody will care.

Next theres markers. You can make your own... Or rack em. Whichever works best for you.

Well you have to apply the glue yourself, its basically just paper. And yeah it comes just plain white. Its 3 feet tall.

You can use whiteout if you want... But I just leave em because I dont have enough time.

For stencils... go to www.stencilrevolution.com and use the tutorial. Your stencils have to be clean, so you might wanna use photoshop. DONT CUT OUT CARDBOARD. Its hard and it takes forever. Use an exacto knife and some thickish printing paper, like the kind businesess use for menus, then laminate it so it lasts, spray from a distance, and make sure to leave in bridges.

Your tags are pretty sick I must say. I reallly want to see some street stuff though, your deffinetly ready to throw those up on some electrical boxes, dumpsters, mailboxes, whatever. And make sure to take pictures! Speaking of which I got my cam fixed. And I might be able to get some pictures up of my work.
