Don't forget Old school semi-pro freestyle skater, John Trimble, that placed 9th in the 1989 U.S. nationals "NSA" at the age of 14, after placing 3rd overall in the western division in CASL the same year. He also placed 1st-3rd in almost all of his Freestyle competitions from the time he was 10 years old till freestyle contests banished completly in 1992. Unfortunatly the years freestyle contests were killed, that was the year John had planned on turning pro, but missed the train. There were a lot of other semi-pro freestyle skaters out there that got short changed as well. Jeremy Ramey was one of them, as well as Mike Kinney, Jeff Rykobosche, Curtis Lee, Kevin Colin, Matt Wood, and many more.

Anyhow, it's unfortunate that some of these up and coming great skaters didn't get the same opportunities as other skaters that did. I feel fortunate that for the opportunities that I did get, but still was cut short of a lot of other opportunities out there. I'm John Trimble, and just trying to help rectify this part of the sport, as well as see to it that there was a little bit of injustice when it came to how the freestyle skaters of the community weren't given equal attention as the rest of the sport, even when Rodney was a major contributer to alot of the tricks you see today.

Check out the skate video I made in 2006. it has everything from street skating, a bit of ramp riding and mostly freestyle that I've done from age 11-30. Enjoy!

It's titled, "Back to the Glory Days" Look for it on youtube, because I can't post links to url's yet since I'm fairly new to this site. you can also see that video and the rest of my videos by key word search on youtube "3Deditor" which is my handle there.

Hey thanks a bunch! I appreciate it! btw Lynn Cooper, Pierre Andre, my older brother Terry, Don Brown and Mike Kinney, and Primo were a huge part of my bringing up with skateboarding. Through my Brother and former brother inlaw Lynn Cooper, I was given the amazing opportunity to skate with these guys. So I have to give credit to these guys for sure. if it wasn't for them, I probably would have lost interest a while ago.

I also wanted to mention Fabian Kravets. That guy was really good, I think he got to turn pro for a short time. not positive though. He did city streets shows at Sea World, San diego, with Primo and Dianne Desiderio back in the 80's.

btw, Great skating there Johnny16tx. The 360 shovit or 540 shovit helipop is a very difficult trick. you did it very clean. nice one. Is there a way of doing it, without landing wrong or killing yourself? I've tried this trick a lot and really haven't gotten anywhere.

when i do gazelles "heli pop with a 540shove"
i focus on getting the 360 board and 180 body
then land on my nose and turn my shoulders to finish the rotation
ifind its easyer to control a pivot then it is without "daryl grogan does them amazing without the pivot tho"
