***THE SEARCH BAR MANUAL***
To save from repeat threads, and find answers to questions that have already been answered on the forum, the "Search Bar" can come in handy! This is a brief explanation on how use it properly!
You can access the "Search Bar" by choosing it from the "Cafe Menu" on the left-hand side of the screen:

Or you can access the Advanced Search by clicking the button that says 'Advanced Search' in the top right hand corner of your screen, above the Welcome Box (which is the box that tells you about PMs, rep points, and new posts).
Then, there are two different type of searches, "Search Entire Posts" & "Search Titles Only" both of which will give you 2 completely different results.
-The "Search Entire Posts" option, will do just that, SEARCH ENTIRE POSTS. It will search through all the posts that have the word you typed into the "Key Word" field. Every single time that specific word is typed, in a thread, will come up in the search fields, using the search bar.
For Instance:Say you want to look up "Kickflip".
You type in Kickflip in the "Key Word" field:

Which will bring up thread fields that have POSTS with the word "Kickflip" in them (Not Thread Topics). In addition, typing in key words in the 'Quick Search' bar will also do this (the Quick Search bar is directly above the 'Advanced Search' button).
-The "Search Titles Only" option, is designed for looking up THREAD TOPICS that have the word you typed into the "Key Word"
(Threads that were started by a member using that word in it)
You change the scroll down arrow to "Search Titles Only"
For Instance:
You type in Kickflip in the "Key Word" field:
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-6/1191136/Clipboard04.jpg
Which will bring up thread fields that have members created THREADS with the word "Kickflip" in them.
(Which is where, more than likely, the answer to you questions about say "Kickflips" or about any other topic that has been created using the word you type into the "Key Word" search!)
Alot of times, when you search using the "Search Bar", you don't find "Threads" that have been created using a specific word, is because you forgot to change the scroll down arrow from "Search Entire Posts" to "Search Topics Only". Which will result in numerous threads being created about that same topic (not to mention enough members posting you to use the "Search Bar" in your newly created thread!
Also, you can search for a specific members posts/threads as well
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-6/1191136/Clipboard02.jpg
So if you know who created the thread or post your specifically looking for, you can search for it!
It also has a "smart" member find in it, so even if you dont know there entire CORRECT name, you can type a few words, as I show you above, and it will list the usernames of members that start with those letters typed.
UPDATED 10/22/07:
To Search a 3 letter word using the ''Search Bar'', you need to put an * symbol after the word! For example, if you wanna look up the word ''Age'', then you need to input it into the search bar as: Age* !It will look up all words with the combo ''AGE'' which will give you results like '"AGE, AGENT, PAGE, etc.)
All in all, the "Search Bar" is a tremendous tool, and is quite usefull. This little manual should get you on your way to learning it better! It's very easy to work, once you know the basics, and should be used almost everytime you have a question about something, or just want to look up a thread to see if it exists already! Have fun with it!
