I snowboard when winter comes around, I am actually a snowboard instructor at a resort.

I had the chance to go snowboarding this year with a few mates, all up it would of cost me 700 bucks. I ended up not going, might go next year.

Yea snowboarding does rock man. Its actually what got me into skateboarding!

it costs $35 at my mountain I go too and the one close buy is $45 for a day...my family bought a family pass for $1000 and we payed it off really in less than a month lol.

or find out if your mountain has like a flex pass, I did that with the $45 a day mountain....with it, days averaged at about $25 a day because I had like a 10day flex pass or something.

I think it helps with overall riding, because I rode switch on my snowboard last season. I couldnt ride switch very well at skating, but when I came back after the snowboard season I could ride my skateboard better switch.

uhh it would be similiar with trick names, riding stances, lingo, and similiar shape board..but riding a snowboard is very different. you'll have an advantage if you snowboard after youve been skating though.

My only advice is dont give up the first time :biggrin: :biggrin: ,when I started I couldnt even make it down a begginer slope without falling every 5 feet, now 3 years later I can grind, I almost got the 180 tail grab down, its alot of fun and everyone should try it if they can

I own at it. i found this hill, 30 degree angle, 50 feet longd. i'm building and 3+high lanch ramp off it. Maby and packed snow rail :)

Yep, go once a year during February with the family. Great sport; hard to get the hang of in the beginning but once you've mastered the basics there's just so much you can do. Besides breaking bones that is.

I snowboarded once at the snowfield (since Australia doesn't get snow most of the time). I ended up leaving with virtually a cracked ass hole since i fell so much. This one time i let go of my board and it shot down the mountain and collided with this kid waiting in line for the chairlift. He got completely owned. Board must've been travelling at about 60km/h. I had to get my board and say sorry etc but it was still hilarious.

Tried it once, failed horribly.

my friends took me snowboarding for the first time, and i failed horribly. my first run was a double black diamond, what idiots, i had no idea what a black diamond was. the second time i went i was MUCH better though. you'd be surprised at how good you'll be the next time you go. now i have gone a lot more and can catch air and grind rails. so what i'm saying LEC is don't give up on it just yet.

i dont know about front flips, i can do them better like on trampolines and stuff nut ive tryed them before and got nowhere close. but iver tryed backflips last season and gotten pretty close. backflips seem easier to me

Yeah I am going to try some backflips this year; I almost sure backflips are easier than front flips. Check out this diagram, I just drew up.

Its simple mathmatics that a backflip would be easier, (this is only dealing with amount of ease not fear factor.

I know im not aloud to post or advertise another website but this one is totally about snowboarding. Snowboard-city has restarted and theres tons of reviews, trick tips, ramp plans, articles for snowboarding, snowskating, and skiing. theyve also started up there message board again and its got like no one from skateboard-city..some really ncie people there. Ive even become a writer there so ive added some snowskating tips and snowboarding and will have videos of them in the winter. I highly suggest signing up on the snowboarding message board to talk to fellow boarders on anything! ill post the website instead of the messageboard because thats violating the TOS I think

I love snowboarding, I go every winter break.

Ive been snowboarding for 3 months at sunshine village and got my CASI level 2 so I can teach next year. But now Im home and suffering MAJOR withdrawel symptoms and need to go boarding NOW hah.

Picked up a ride decade and its a sick board, works well pretty much anywhere you wanna take it without and hassle, but I also got burton bindings which ride real nice but I broke them real easily and the screws come out permanently, boo.

If theres no ski swap or used place you can go to for first year kind of stuff...go to a sport retail store like Sportchek or something..not wal mart or anything though. You can get a binding and board package for like $200 - $250. Cheaper but good boots for a beginner can run below $100. Then you just need snow pants, and a jacket. If you need a helmet for your mountain, get one..and Goggles/gloves are nice :)

As for brands, some good beginner board companies would be K2, 5150, Lamar, Mole, World Industries. Bindings check out low end Burton, Lamar, K2. For boots I would check out Nollie, Sims, Vans, 24/7.

Go to your local resort they usually sell there rental stuff. They can give you some pretty good deals my little sister is doing it.

^ i tried a 540 once and landed backwards in a 90 degree angle rolled back got a bloody nose pshh only cried for 15 minutes lol jk. backflips really arent hard i did one into powder then after that i was like that was easy. alls you gotta do is go fast and lean back

My bud tore out his shoulder yesterday warm up trick 180 up onto butter box switch one off put his hand out to stop land on his weak shoulder (popped it out last year back three the bigger kicker) so now he is screwed for the rest of the season :(

DUDE, I LOVE SNOWBOARDING, ive gone a few times, but im going the first week in spring break. It will prolly end up being warm enough to go out in my snowboard pants and a sweatshirt. But when i get money i have to get a new deck (i think thats what its called in snowboarding cool) cause my current is up to the middle of my chest, which is really short. the first time i went i had a lesson and the guy actually gave me a refund because i didnt need it. It was awesome. He let me help him teach it though. He said natural talent. But i dont have the time or money to go as often as i would like. My friends parents are givin me a free trip with them. its gonna be sick cause we are renting out a 12 person cabin and there is only me, my friend, and his parents. Not to mention they have 2 halfpipes and the terrain course is supposed to be sick. CANT WAIT!!!

As much as I suck at both snowboarding and skateboarding, I love them both! I fall on my *** (literally...) constantly, and I broke my tailbone on Sunday and ended up missing out on some school (which is a bad and a good thing, haha).

There was a nice thick layer of snow up in the mountains from a storm that passed a week or two ago, and it was bright and sunny at the same time so I was snowboarding in some snowboard pants and a tee... :P It was around 50-60 degrees. :) I screwed up my tailbone on my first run though (weirdest feeling EVER...) but I kept snowboarding for about 6 hours because I wasn't about to waste a $50 lift ticket... :P

^ lol, i can't wait till spring break, 2 weeks, but after that i miss all of the fun stuff because i have drivers ed :(

I snowboard, snowboarded last month for a week in Austria and loved it . We are going again this Christmas, my only disapointment was the lack of snowboard jumps at the park but the runs were good.

i only snowboard 3 days a year.... but i like it more than skating ;)

The only time I've been on snow was a trip to France in January, but there's a dry Freestyle slope + halfpipe 20mins walk down the road:icon_2gun

I LOVE snowboarding. More than skating and wakeboarding. Possibly because I do it less out of the three though.

I love the mountains and the atmosphere. Seems like there is always good, friendly people involved and I always have a good time when I go.

Snowboarding is wayyy better than skating IMO. I went up about 100 times this past season and plan on going even more next season. Just got a new board too! Cant wait for November!

Just came back from New Zealand, was there for a month boarding at Coronet peak. Was sick. Shame i couldnt stay longer but hey thats what low funds do to ya!

don't eat me alive, but i think snowboarding is more fun than skating! dropping a 20' cliff into chest deep powder at vail is incredible. there's so much backcountry terrain here in colorado it's ridiculous. a few of my buddies work as instructors out in the mtns...it's tight riding with them because they know all of the secret stash spots!

i actually miss winter. lmao.

because now there is now snowboarding/skiing, snow, back country, its just . not the same. lmao.
