Qtip 12-05-2006, 09:08 PM Woah nice trick MRCK, it's like a bs heel gone wrong gone right. long jetty 12-07-2006, 03:49 PM Wow, MRCK, your tricks are amazing! Pathtek4 12-07-2006, 03:59 PM This trick has been driving me nutts for 2 days now!! I have it figured out, but its all timing...I am very close, but only landed a few Heel-casper body varials on accident..haha Newbed 12-07-2006, 05:41 PM MRCK I just realized that you can put someones eye out with your board. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a395/C0dy_/untitled23.jpg Individuality 12-07-2006, 09:01 PM I think this is the shortest GoS we've had. All because of MRCK. Roboman 12-07-2006, 10:28 PM Well, I've relearnt heelflips, learnt heelflip body varials for the first time aswell. For this trick I dont have enough time in the air. Like the back foot flip isn't so hard, its the body varial that gets me because it destroys the height on my heelflips. But yeah, I wont get this one as I've moved up to my dads place an I no longer have a camera. But I doubt I can get this one landed on camera within a day anyway :). Go Pathtek... Well that sucks about the camera thing...If you don't get it, good game there Roboman! Had a great time playin' with you... As far as this trick, if you are gonna give it one last go, it's a bit easier to turn your shoulders in advance before you actually do the half-heel...Gives you a half-second more time in the air.. I hope to attempt it today again, BUT, its supposed to feel like the low teens all day, and I may get frost bite trying..haha..but saturday is going to be my day to try this one last time if it doesnt happen MRCK 12-08-2006, 01:48 PM Well, I've relearnt heelflips, learnt heelflip body varials for the first time aswell. Aw man that sucks (about the camera thing), I know where your problem comes from, turn your shoulders a bit in advance like Pathtek said but wait till you do the late flip before you actually turn your body, don't try to do a heelflip backside body varial and to kick the board with your back foot while it flips, try to pop a high heelflip (and turn your shoulders a bit but don't immediately go for a full body varial) then do the late half flip and turn your board around while the deck flips back, catch it and land. Or at least that's what I do, try to get your hands on a camera, and hopefully that will help Pathtek as well, he seems to be really really close to learning that trick :) Good luck ! I think this is the shortest GoS we've had. All because of MRCK. Nah, more like because a lot of people quit at the beginning of the game (remyhero left the forums, LJ broke his ankle, etc.). There's quite a few pretty common tricks I've never been able to learn properly (hardflips and switch double flips being two of them, I won't tell you the others though :)), I'm sure I could have got way more letters if things had turned out differently, I've just been lucky in this game. MRCK I just realized that you can put someones eye out with your board. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a395/C0dy_/untitled23.jpg Hahaha, that made my day :) Newbed 12-08-2006, 04:39 PM Hahaha, that made my day :) As long as I make someones day :) Pathtek4 12-09-2006, 07:25 PM Well, i tried into the wee-hours of the night..and this is about the closest I got with landing it...http://youtube.com/watch?v=RuNbqyYZnhY...So I think thats it... CONGRATS MRCK ON WINNING GOS7!!!!! long jetty 12-09-2006, 10:51 PM Yep and time's up. Congrats MRCK, you played an awesome game, you've got so many awesome tricks down, nice job! Pathtek4 12-09-2006, 11:33 PM I think some rep reward to MRCK is due...that was one hell of a 1st trick, haha kinda stuck us all on that, and then a well played game throughout! I know your weakness on hardflips, look at next game :p, haha I'm just curious MRCK, my next set was going to be a Fakie Lazerflip, if I landed your match right, but what's the percentage of you landing it? Roboman 12-10-2006, 12:04 AM Contratulations MRCK! You won with quite a points margin too, 2 letters to everyone elses 5. Closest I got to your last trick was flipping it correctly, getting one foot on, but my front foot always landed on the ground. This Game of Skate has been so much fun. Closest I got to your last trick was flipping it correctly, getting one foot on, but my front foot always landed on the ground. This Game of Skate has been so much fun. For sure man! Good game there to you as well...We tied for second :p..lmao Guess we'll just do it again in GOS8 :) Etnieskater 12-10-2006, 04:03 AM Definatly good game, your a beast MRCK..you deserve 16 rep power from me :D I could catch the end of the game after I left, hopefully I cant join not the next GOS because of snow, but the one after that in the spring and come back with a fight! congrats to Pathtek and Roboman for lasting all the way to the end and good job hosting Long Jetty :) long jetty 12-10-2006, 04:08 AM I'll start the next game in exactly 3 or 4 days. I am allowed to skate (sort of) then! MRCK 12-10-2006, 05:19 AM Thanks guys :) But hey Pathtek, how was not the clip you posted a make ? I couldn't see what was going on exactly because it was a bit blurry so I'm not quite sure why it doesn't count, from what I can perceive it's because you used your front foot by accident to flip the board back or something ? I'm just curious MRCK, my next set was going to be a Fakie Lazerflip, if I landed your match right, but what's the percentage of you landing it? I think I could have done it, that's one of the main tricks I'm trying to learn these days and I give it a few tries every session, I can flip it quite fine but I've never managed to land it clean yet. I often have trouble getting the full 360 of the board. So I guess there would have been 75% of chances that I would have matched it :) Anyway, that was an awesome game and it even helped me learn / perfect a few new tricks :) You guys did well. Now I can't wait for GOS8, it sounds promising ! Roboman 12-10-2006, 05:29 AM Ha, sooo many people are going to wanna join GOS8. I think. Uncleleo 12-10-2006, 10:01 AM Congratulations MRCK, you played a hell of a game! Qtip 12-10-2006, 12:21 PM MRCK are you playing in the next GOS? MRCK 12-10-2006, 12:57 PM MRCK are you playing in the next GOS? Definitely, I'll sign up as soon as LJ starts the next game :) Pathtek4 12-10-2006, 01:21 PM Thanks guys :) But hey Pathtek, how was not the clip you posted a make ? I couldn't see what was going on exactly because it was a bit blurry so I'm not quite sure why it doesn't count, from what I can perceive it's because you used your front foot by accident to flip the board back or something ? Yeah man...It was kind of a half-casper half-backfoot...Both feet hit the board, but the front heel is what really brought it back..I couldn't count that ya know, but I ran out of time (got really dark) and couldn't get the match...I pretty much got heel-caspers though now, haha, so thanks for that :) I kinda had a feeling you had those fakie lazerflips, and if you didn't, i'm sure you would have figured it out in enough time to match :p lol Qtip 12-10-2006, 02:34 PM Definitely, I'll sign up as soon as LJ starts the next game :) Excellent :D Supersonix6 12-10-2006, 02:35 PM Nice games guys! That was really enjoyable to watch. Congrats to all! How many people are going to be in the next game? I wouldn't mind joining. Me and MRCK have the same taste of tricks from what I have seen. I'm not saying I can land any of his though :icon_frow Newbed 12-10-2006, 09:33 PM Congratulations on the shortest game ever. arto-geoff 12-11-2006, 03:33 AM Well done MRCK, you've got some insane tricks. Pathtek4 12-11-2006, 04:57 AM Congratulations on the shortest game ever. Actually, I think GOS3 with Amskater may have been the shortest game ever...I mean he had switch 360flips and BS180 Lateflips...Even though MRCK spanked us good :p, I think we all got spanked pretty good that round as well Roboman 12-11-2006, 05:21 AM Actually, I think GOS3 with Amskater may have been the shortest game ever...I mean he had switch 360flips and BS180 Lateflips...Even though MRCK spanked us good :p, I think we all got spanked pretty good that round as well Yeah. Look at how prominent that is when I lay the game out like this: -- Round 1 -- MRCK: Nollie gazelle kiwiflip Matched by: Nobody Etnieskater: Varial kickflip revert Matched by: Roboman, MRCK, Uncleleo, Pathtek, Individuality Uncleleo: Hardflip Matched by: Pathtek, Roboman, almost MRCK Long Jetty out of the game due to broken ankle. Arto Geoff: Forgot to set :( Pathtek: 1/2 pressureflip 1/2 lateflip body varial Matched by: MRCK Roboman: Switch double kickflip Matched by: Nobody Arto Geoff out of the game with SKATE. Individuality: Switch frontside bigspin Matched by: MRCK Uncleleo and Etnieskater out of the game with SKATE. -- Round 2 -- MRCK: Frontfoot impossible late f/s shove it Matched by: Nobody Individuality out of the game with SKATE. Pathtek: 360 underflip (just for fun) Matched by: Roboman, MRCK Roboman: Kickflip backside body varial Matched by: MRCK, Pathtek (with a short time extension) -- Round 3 -- MRCK: Half heeflip late back foot kickflip body varial Matched by: almost Pathtek Pathek and Roboman out of the game with SKATE. MRCK wins with SK remaining! Pathtek4 12-11-2006, 06:05 AM ^HAHA..What a recap :p! You should work for Sportscenter roboman..lmao! Roboman 12-11-2006, 07:05 AM ^HAHA..What a recap :p! You should work for Sportscenter roboman..lmao! I was thinking of whipping up a flash animation of this game, but I didn't know what anybody looked like and it didn't really start. Like have everyones as a bunch of stick figures really, standing around like in a real game of SKATE. Everyone who was in this game, can you all descirbe whatever you wear the most, like the "normal" you? I can work some people out from their videos, but I still have no idea about some others. Also include maybe your build and a height estimate too, so then I can make (extremely) cartoonified versions, not quite stick figures but close. Yeah, for example I'd have my NY yankees hat and completely wrecked shoes, MRCK would have his hair, Pathtek would have white peak cap and white cargos, Uncleleo would have his mop of hair etc. Good idea? Uncleleo 12-11-2006, 07:50 AM Haha that sounds like a really cool idea Roboman. You pretty much got it for me, jeans and a tshirt when I go skate. Also my beat up black and grey quicksilver hat. AWESOME idea ! :icon_yes: I usually wear a white tee, your average pair of jeans and my Billabong blue / white cap backwards when I skate, but you may have worked that out from my vids already :) If you need more accurate info I'm about 5'6 and 115 lbs (if I got the meters to feet / kgs to lbs conversions right). You are short for your age then, Im 5'8'' and 105 pounds? Pathtek4 12-11-2006, 06:00 PM HAHA..That would be cool Roboman! You have me to a tee :) Don't make me as heavy as I am in the videos, I swear it adds 40 pounds (wishfull thinking) zeroNYskater 12-11-2006, 11:28 PM pathtek, keep skating, u'll lose that 40 pounds in no time =D MRCK 12-12-2006, 03:31 AM You are short for your age then, Im 5'8'' and 105 pounds? Yeah I'm not that tall, but I'm not too short either, by 5'6'' I meant 170 cm, I don't know if I got the conversion right (but I think I did). Roboman 12-12-2006, 04:07 AM Yeah I'm not that tall, but I'm not too short either, by 5'6'' I meant 170 cm, I don't know if I got the conversion right (but I think I did). Metric makes much more sense to me. I'm 176 cm, so I'll just go from your 170 as a guide. Also to anyone else, dont forget to mention if your asian or have glasses or whatever. :) Pathtek4 12-12-2006, 05:13 AM pathtek, keep skating, u'll lose that 40 pounds in no time =D Skating is what prevented me from gaining 80pounds instead of the 40 I put on...I've been skating for YEARS now, and while it might help you maintain a certain weight for a bit, it definitly isnt going to help me lose any... and last time I checked Roboman, I wasn't close to being Asian :p Check my Avatar, there is a quality picture of me.. Ha I wasnt thinking of you. Nah, I thought it would be sort of bad to accidentally make someone white in the aimation when they could be from a completely different race. Unfortunately my workload has just bumped up my another projects-worth, so the animation for GOS7 might be done by the end of GOS8. I've got to animate 19 more camera shots for my skeleton animation for TAFE and get it done before the 20th. And its only physically possible to do about 3 per day including rendering time. Ima gonna be busy. Pathtek4 12-13-2006, 07:28 AM ^Well, don't burn yourself out man :)! ...and what is TAFE by the way? Roboman 12-13-2006, 08:15 AM ^ TAFE stands for Technical and Further Education. It offers classes for all sorts of things, but its not a full fledged university. My animation class meets up a once a week on thursday nights, gets some work done and does the rest at home. its anothe way of getting qualifications. And I can only really get things done under pressure, so I take up all these side projects wherever I can get them and hammer through the work just before the deadline haha. Its a wierd habit of mine. Pathtek4 12-13-2006, 01:22 PM Well, pardon my foul mouth, but I have the perfect quote for you my good man :) "Procrastination Is Like Masterbation, You Never Stop Until You Notice You Are Screwing Yourself" Roboman 12-13-2006, 07:27 PM ^ HAHAHAA!! Thats pure gold! MRCK 12-14-2006, 07:22 AM Haha, I'm a huge procrastinator too when it comes to class projects. It doesn't matter how many weeks I'm given to work on them, I always end up waiting until the very last minute and staying awake for the whole last night before the deadline hammering my presentation away. It's an habit I'd like to get rid off, though. Qtip 12-14-2006, 12:23 PM Do the sign ups for GOS8 start today? It's weird but I'm actually excited about seeing the new hand sign... lol metalshin2047 12-14-2006, 02:36 PM MRCK winner, that's no surprise lol... So there isn't any possibilities for new guys like me to play in the next GOS here? Roboman 12-15-2006, 05:04 AM MRCK winner, that's no surprise lol... So there isn't any possibilities for new guys like me to play in the next GOS here? Well, theres a minimum post and rep thing going, because in the past a lot of people have joined games and not come back. I'm not saying you'd do that, but post some footage of yourself and generally be around the place and I reckon you could get into GOS9 no troubles. long jetty 12-19-2006, 06:51 PM Wow Pathtek to gold stars!!! Congrats! |
