Alright so this is the same as Dead Blue Sky's GOS only beginner! Sign-Ups end in 1 week so you have until next saturday to sign up. From there, the players will decide on set/match due dates. Same rules apply so heres the rules pasted from his thread:
DeadBlueSky's skate challenge:

this is how the game works; its a normal online game of skate, except instead of setting and matching a single trick each round, a line of 3 tricks is set and the others must match all 3 tricks in that line, its a chance to challenge both your flip trick repetoir and consistancy, i would say the game is recommended for more advance skaters as it requires a very large trick bag. hopefully those of you who sign up have a good time playing and may the best man win


DeadBlueSky's skate challenge rules

1. sets are comprised of lines of three tricks, no more no less: example kickflip - heelflip - b/s pop shuvit

2. all tricks in the line must be landed for the set or subsequent matches to count

3. tricks may not be re-set if they have been used in a line already; for example: if someone sets the line:- kickflip - heelflip - b/s pop shuvit, none of those 3 tricks may be used in later sets

4. toe drag is not allowed, tricks must be rolled away cleanly

5. tic tacs are permited, but only when they are clearly not to maintain rolling (e.i: no under-rotated 360 flips where the person doing the trick stops dead then tic tacs away)

6. tricks must be executed rolling at a speed at which the person doing the trick will continue rolling upon landing

7. pushing is allowed between tricks, but not as a way to cover up a stop.

8. failure to set in time results in the setter gaining a letter (as with regualr SKATE)

9. failure to match within the deadline, being a week from the set date, results in those who did not meet the date getting a letter.

Well, those are the rules. They arnt very strict in the begginer game though. Of course a little toe drag is allowed, it just cant be incredibly sloppy.

I think you may need a certain number of posts to join, not sure, but I think that's the way it works.

i'm going extremely easy for my set, if nobody does the exact line im going to do a nollie half cab, heelflip, and either a casper flip or varial kickflip. hopefully casper flips arent too hard?

It'd be exactly like any of the advanced street skaters entering into the freestyle GOS.

I've never really street skated at all, and have only just started to learn basic ollie moves. As of such, when placed in an environment like this i'm a complete novice - someone was talking about nollie 180s, casper flips and heelflips, none of which I can confidently do (especially not the casper flip!). I see it as a way of expanding my skating, and getting ideas of tricks to try to learn and get consistent.

Alright, I'll give you Skate 4 Fun's spot since he can't play.
Sign ups are now finished. The game will start tomorrow with 3 days to set and 4 days to match (this can be changed as we get less people in the game) going by MidWestern time because 1. It's my time and 2. It's it's in the middle of Eastern and Western so it's most fair for all. We'll just go in order of sign ups for ease so I'm up first. I'll keep all the information in my sig. What I said before is what I wanted but when I went out to practice I realized that I'm not as consistant with those tricks as I thought. I can honestly say I don't know what I'll be setting. I think for the day I'll film lines and decide on the best one.

i got a question can i use one footed tricks but my other foot that i dont use doesnt hit the ground what im thinking of using is a one footed nollie shove it. and i also have this trick where it is a fakie pivot to a shove it. will you guys allow these tricks?

OK so heres the news and answers to some of your questions. Long Jetty changed it so that we now have a discussion thread. Yay. Yes, Warcatz, it does go in the order of sign up. Datman, are you talking about no comply tricks? If so, I think we can allow them only because they give more of a trick range rather than us running out of tricks very fast. In a no comply trick, the foot can only hit the ground at the time that it is supposed to be during the trick. The foot must be returned and it may only touch the ground once. Your fakie pivot nollie shuv is allowed but only if done as one trick (like a kickflip revert is one trick).

Hmm.. In that case, I think I've got a better line. Supposing I last that long. I hope I can, haha.

im not talking about no comply tricks i stand on the nose of the board while rolling one footed and my other foot hovers above the ground and it doesnt touch the ground during the trick at all its hard to explain i might use it depends and my fakiepivot to a shove it trick is all in one motion so i guess i might use that aswell

Alright it's uploading. Can't say I'm happy with it though, I definitely didn't get want I wanted. It's a fakie fs shuv-it, half cab flip, and kickflip. The half cab flip was landed 90 and pivoted out. My brother wouldn't film another so I'm stuck with that one. If you want me to redo it I can, it just might be another day or two...

Yeah so definitely not the best set. Tell me if I should redo the half cab flip. Also, slow mo each trick on yours. I couldn't figure out how to in vegas and I wanted to get it up.

in vegas to slomo you right click the video then go to properties i think it is and change the playback rate to 0.500 instead of 1.000 to slow it down half. i use vegas how awsome is it. and im sure people wont worry too much about your halfcab flip seeing that they will want to keep the game going.

i just watched it and isnt that halfcab flip backside because its rotating the opposite direction of your shove it

its also not too bad im not too fussed about it becuase mine will look a bit like that probably if i can get one

Hey thanks for the Vegas tip. Yeah, It is backside but I feel it's simpler just to call it a frontside because that's the way I'm actually turning and so that people don't get confused.

About the hand sign thing..
Just about every game we've had here so far has had a handsign, It is to prove that you are you and that what you're using is not old footage.If we do not implement the hand sign rule and someone gets skeptical then we'll be in a mess, and all because we weren't smart enough to follow though with a rule that has been on the cafe for ever..

All in favor of ruling in the hand sign say "yayh", all against it.. Shut up, no one wants to hear from you/say "neigh" or whatever..

Ps: I'm almost positive that if one of us tells are lil' dilemma-ish thing to a mod, they will do what's right and tell us to use a hand sign. So we might as well just make one up..

What we did is considered a fs half cab flip, Fs and Bs are usually reversed in nollie or fakie position. Normally if done regular that would be a bs flip but since it's fakie is a fs half cab flip..

you, sir, are incorrect. it's only reversed in nollie, or more accurately, only reversed in fakie. it was a backside halfcab flip.

What we did is considered a fs half cab flip, Fs and Bs are usually reversed in nollie or fakie position. Normally if done regular that would be a bs flip but since it's fakie is a fs half cab flip..

As it happens (as Aron said) it is still backside. If i'm riding nollie, and do a frontside shuvit it goes the same direction as if I did a regular frontside shuvit - it's still classed as a frontside shuvit, merely with the word 'nollie' put infront of it. When it fakie, it's as if you're riding normally, so from the fakie position if you rotate what'd be switch frontside it's fakie backside - switch backside and it's the opposite. Switch is then just the same as regular.

Trust me on this my friend, it's BS. I have skated with some knowledgeable skaters in the past, some old enough to remember when backside and frontside were first used, and (no offence) I take their word over that of a 14 year old I havn't met.

OK, the hand sign rule is now in effect. If you have filmed yours already, don't worry about it. If you still need to film it, please use the sign that Sq22 so tastefully showed us. Also, the half cab flip was backside, I just called it frontside for simplicities sake. I'm going to change it to end the controversy. I'm also going to change it to fakies fs POP shuv-it while I'm at it.

I should have my match up tomorrow, it's too late tonight, i was trying it before and i got the first 2 tricks then my foot just slipped off on the kickflip, the easiest of the tricks...

You guys really seem to know what you're talking about, I received my information from a previous Gos(I Probably misunderstood). So what exactly would have to change in order for the name of the trick to be reversed? I'm not quite understanding everything you say..

for 180s in every stance except fakie:
at 90 degrees, if you're facing forward, it's frontside
at 90 degrees, if you're facing backward, it's backside
in fakie, it's reversed, and shove its work the same as 180s.

oh, and persondude, saying it the wrong way will definitely not make it any more simple.

Hey, i'm about to get this on film but I need to ask something. Does it have to be a straight line, or can it be back and forth? I'm going to use my garage because as of now I'm banned from leaving my "neighborhood" so I can't get enough space and it's dark out now.

Pretty much everyone that set, minus an exception or two, landed 90º and pivoted out. I am cleaning mine up, I have been Half Cab Double flipping them lately because Sq22 got be doing damn doubles.

I know. My good match will be tomorrow. I was filming for liek 30 minutes only today. As you saw it was getting really dark (if you look beyond my big light). So I went in. After school I'll have it tomorrow (yay no after school program on Friday!)

And skatinkrazy, that way off in my opinion. It can be under rotated, and you toe can slightly rub or touch the ground. But what you did what a lil Wack!. Ye know? =P

^ Games of skate improve your skating so much eh? When I started BBGOS I could hardly kickflip, and the first set was a kickflip, so I was out in my driveway for about an hour trying to match.

Hopefully this GOS will help my skating as much as BBGOS has. Oh and I'll get more involved in this game aswell, haven't really been paying attention lately, I might go and get my match soon... And my set ;).

i think this game is going to make us more consistant with our tricks because we have to stick 3 of them in a row

This puts a tear in me eye, My trick bag has doubled since I joined and played you. I am needing to set a trick.

There is no rule for that, I have addressed this multiple times already. Some people(such as me) live in a place where it rains consistently and snows in winter. If this pointless rule were put in place people like me would not be able to play. Going back and forth gives no advantage and has no reason to not be allowed..

Yeah, there is no rule about not being able to go back and forth, straight lines are just encouraged is all.

hey sev7n i watched your shadow when you went off the screen in your match and it seems to jump and i believe its seperate videos with the kickflip at the end. this is one of the reasons why i think that the tricks need to be done in a line. or they could at least be done like varial_222's because he doesnt leave the screen at all

if he is cheating, that is a disqualification.

mine stays in frame at all time. I try my best. Match tomorrow if it doesnt rain again!

I do not believe that one bit, If you do it in a line you've got as much time as you want to set up. Even if people have the room but want to go back in forth it's fine.. As long as they're 1 after another s'all good..

I'm going to take a look at this "going off frame thing".. If it is proven you're gonna be gettin' a hard time from me for now on..

Edit: I have watched it and concluded that it was indeed a separate frame. He changes his position almost instantly with no sound of his wheels smacking the ground and the frame briefly skips.
I'm here now waiting for an explanation from the owner of that video before I open my mouth to put, Explain..

Sev7n's kickflip was definitely filmed at a different time. I'm going to have to disqualify him unless he somehow comes up with some explanation that we can all agree on. Can't see how that's possible, seeing as he did cheat, but what the hey. We'll let him speak.
As for everyone else, don't make the same mistake he did. If you need to film back and forth, make sure you are on the screen at all times!

That was defiently 90 degrees! The whole board goes 90 degrees and i land, just like everyone else.

And on my kickflip, I land it, then stay on for 2 seconds and hit the rug so my body is forced to come off. It was on for 2 seconds, and the half cab was definetly 90 degrees.

That half cab was no where near 90 degrees.

If someone suspects you of cheating and has supports(Camera angle changed, you can see the frame skip ect..) And you have no valid excuse then you're going to be called a cheater. Weather you did it or not you're still going to be considered a lier because you've got no proof you didn't..

For everyone filming in their garages just move your camera back a bit so we'd be able to see the run off you get. For people who can't try to put something in the background that can prove you haven't skipped a frame.(A flag, maybe a little wined up toy, just something moving so when you go off camera it's still moving and does skip.. )
