Got my first ever Heelflips yesterday. I had never really tried to get them, but on Friday when I was at a friends house, I started trying them, and I got close, and then yesterday I landed one.

half kickflip half backfoot kickflip (no i don't mean half heelflip, i kicked it round some more not back on itself) sick, silly, easier than expected trick, i only tried it as a laugh lol. you can easily see where you have to kick with your back foot as soon as you start the flip.
Lol i've just got in from my sesh, i'm lovely and sweaty haha. hopped a gate to an abandoned petrol (gas) station and found so many cool things to skate including: a long piece of flat metal, a small sign, slidy floor where its wet (i guess it mightve had petrol on it at sometime), (very) small manny pads, lots of branches and best of all a "thing" coming out of the ground to put petrol in, like going into a big petrol tank underground, but it has string coming out of it with a weight attached to it (i guess to measure the level of petrol) so we used a deckchair near by and stretched out the string to make an awsome hippy jump haha:D
Its really good because it doesnt automatically destroy you if you dont clear it but it self repairs itself when you crash into it cos its got a weight going down into the tank:D

On a bad note i've basically snapped my deck:p did a lipslide and now the board flexes rediculously lol snapped several layers. still, it's still kindof skateable lol

past few days i learnt, fakie bigspin heels, full cab heelflip, inward heel revert, varial flip revert, relearnt double heelflips and pressure emeralds.

As a general rule of thumb, if the box/rail is in front of you, whatever trick you bust on it is frontside. If it is behind you, then it's backside, whether traveling fakie or not. Hope this helps!
