Present :) I feel really weird at the thought that it's only a matter of months now until I turn 20, I still tend to regard myself as a 16 or 17 year-old, and when I have to face that I'm becoming an adult it feels pretty funny.

I feel much older than I am. I am only 20 but my biggest worries are rent and bills. I feel much more grown than most 20 year olds I know. Guess thats what happens when I move across the country and get a job, instead of going to college or living with the folks.

Some of the best skaters on the planet are old.....

I'm just not one of them :icon_snif

The idea of a older forum is sweet. It gives the "kids" more room to get out and explore skateboarding for themselves and to discover things that alot of us older types already have. It gives us middle aged skaters (lol) a chance to have discussions about the stuff that concerns us outside of skating, like life and living. Well that and how arthritus is affecting our skating {rf)

awesome, i'll bring the balloons, you bring the food.

though even at 21, i feel a little aged and unsure as to where my life has gone and a little apprehensive with regards to where my life is going, i try not to let a simple concept like age put any constraints on how i am supposed to behave.

even when i was 12 i felt about 67 :)

I must have worn out all my drinking fun in high school, cause i'm not too big of a drinker now, I much rather get a pepsi, watch others get toasted, and drive home safely :)...Although, in high school A six pack of Natural Ice (Naty's Ice we called it) costed DIRT cheap, but was gross as hell...BUT, it would do the job for those late night sessions on Genesis and then PS1 :)

MRCK

It's 18 here too but it's like there were no legal age since noone cares about it, underrage people can still get access to alcoholized drinks quite easily in stores where noone checks their actual age or they just ask someone else to go buy them what they want. I myself don't drink, almost everyone I know do, not that it matters to me but it still scares the hell out of me to see how it's becoming acceptable as a normal thing for sometimes 13 year-old children to get completely wasted on everything they can find on a regular basis.

Yeah, I was at a party once, and these 13 year old girls were completely gone. For one thing, holy crap little girls are obnoxious when they're drunk. But more seriously, it is pretty disturbing to see someone so young doing something like that. (most)Kids that age aren't really old enough to make responsible decisions for themselves without giving in to peer pressure.

Roboman

I dont drink much anymore. Or at least I try not to. And especially not combining drinking wth skating.

I've posted this story once before, but for those who dont know: I was once skating with a hangover and came down from a feeble grind on a 3ft quarter pipe, but hit a rock right at the bottom. If I was normal my reactions would've worked. But the hangover slowed my reactions down enough that I landed on the concrete completely on my temple and cheek. My hands never even got high enough up to catch me. Blood nose, concussion, fractured skull across the temple, on the cheek and behind my eye, also bruised one of the nerves that controls eye movement so my right eye couldn't look right for about 2 months.

Now I dont even like to see a skateboard when I'm out on the town. Like it wasn't traumatic or anything, I was more optimisic than anyone about getting better. Its just the combination of skating and drinking which is not good. :)

Im slowing down on the drinking from now on. My last party was it for me. 8 shots (including 3 mixed drinks, and a beer) in a time frame of 15 minutes on 75% alcohol made me spend the whole night pasted out in a bathtub. Mostly cause of a girl I liked. Her friend poured her a shot and she didn't want to drink it and me being me I wanted to prove to her that it wasn't strong or anything. Then she she didn't want to drink alone and I took another shot.

I'm here and enjoying it, more than the pool and bowl riding section actually, and it scares me.

+1 on the good conversation and recipes.

Since drinking seems to be the other topic in here, I'm going to say out of respect for my parents I didn't start drinking till I was out of their house and on my own. I think if I'm old enough to pay rent and take out my own garbage I should be able to kick back a few.

I've had my wild nights but now prefer to save it for special events or little kickbacks or movie nights at buddies houses. I'm also part of that lucky slice of the gene pool that is immune to hang-overs.

I'm 23 but I'll be 24 in 2 weeks. I don't understand how some of you are fresh out of high school and saying you are old. WTF? I still feel just as young as I did 10 years ago. I think that you are only old when you physically cannot skate anymore. Until that day comes, I am not complaining. If you can get on your board and ride down the road, you are blessed, be it age 10, 30, or 60. Just keep skating.

I just recently turned 18 last October. I love being able to buy tobacco products, so much easier than having to call someone else. I also heard there was a bill being considered in our state to lower the drinking age, possibly to 18 :D, but more likely 19 or 20. Doubt anything happens with it until I am 21 or something though so it doesn't matter, bills take forever to get passed.

I remember we watched it the day it came out and everyone was just awestruck by size of the ramp. Seeing it now it seems like nothing.

Kinda like when Mike McGill first started doing the Mctwist, everyone thought that was it, it would never get bigger than that!

Did I say I'm here? I'm here. I haven't been on the cafe in months, and I come back, only to be accepted into a new sub-forum! WOO!

It is slightly depressing to log into there, and about 90% of the threads are about weed and alcohol.

Come on, guys! Old is .. 70, I dunno. As long as you're still supple enough to pop those ollies and carve those banks, you're not old. You're just wiser than those kiddies at the park. ...And you get more sex.

Anyways, 19 is a good place to be. Things are starting to happen, it feels like MY life is just beginning to kick off. It's tough but rewarding, and surprisingly nice to be behind the wheel after all the "growing up" years. Plus there's that cool feeling that if I keep at skating (+all other hobbies) for just 10 more years, by the time I'm 30 I'll be ripping!!!

34 and still kicking. New to the forum and returning to the sport. Was I an adult at the age of 20?!? Weird, it seems like I was such a kid.

I'm new but I'm 21. Started skating again a few months ago after years of not having touched my board cause I couldn't find anywhere to skate. Finding it harder now to do tricks but I think I'm just kinda out of shape. Hello btw :icon_mrgr
