can i use my laptop as a router for Xbox live and before you ask the routers downstairs and my Xboxis in my room upstairs, do you kno wif you can do it through a laptop with a wireless internet connection?

The Wireless controller is like 50 bucks..but you can get it cheap tough..other places..

I was going to buy the core, but it doesnt come with the wireless controller, 20gb harddrive, mic, 2 video games, and isn't the disk drive a different colour? Hope you like the 360 super mario!

After buying the live kit last week which came:

I played Project 8, GRAW, Uno, Robotron, Texas Hold Em online...I have to say that Ghost Recon Advance War Fighter is the best online 360 game i've played so far, the Project 8 doesn't have the same vibe as the PS2 ones, THUG will always be the best online tony hawk game ever! surprising to me that the game that comes with the 360s is actually one of the best online games..its damn fun, I pwn noobs. I got the assassin award online by killing a dude who has it :D

I have the core version. Picked up a memory card.
my favourite thing is how you can plug your MP3/iPod into the controller ports and play your music through it while playing your video game. And if you get to a part where you would need to hear something in the game, the music quiets down.

I've been playing Gears of War with my friend a lot.
It's really fun. I'm not too good at video games, but this is easy enough for me to succeed, but not so easy i can just storm through.

lately i've been playing so much 360 live. Besides THP8, GRAW, and a few arcade games I've downloaded Rainbow six vegas online demo, Battlefield two online demo, and GRAW 2 Online Demo! Ben or anyone else, have you downloaded it yet? It only has one online map you can use, no heat vision so its harder to kill, easier to pick off guys by the respawn, and the map sucks balls..its so shady and the trees are moving in the shadows and it sucks. Just to warn you ;)

Hold LT+LB+RB+RT and you induce an auto-bail. Do this somewhere high up, try to land in a REALLY akward position, and bounce down hills and off objects as much as possible.

pretty sure it was 15 bones, its a secret one..I was at the slums, and if you enter from the School, its on the right side of the map, its a big roll in with fire on the bottom t hat boots you really high, you land in City Park, just land high onto cement on your head slightly slanted onto shoulder for MAXIMUM CARNAGE

Ok, for any Rainbow Six players, I need help....JUNG PARK AND MICHAEL WALKER ARE COMPLETE IDIOTS. They do exactly what I don't want them to do. I mean seriously, is it that hard to open a door, throw a smoke, and get behind cover? Nah, nah. Lets run out in the middle of an open room with 20 terrorists firing at us! I'm talking about Chapter 3, Scene 1/3. Red Lotus. I'm past the first room, which was also a pain, but now, I can't get any further. And if they go down, it's out where I can't get to them, and I have to face off against many terrorists, usually taking down 4 or 5 before I myself hit the ground.

Any ideas.....I want to get the Rainbow Six Legend acheivement, and I need to beat R6V on Realistic to get it. Anyone?

There are lots of objects to hit down below, preferably landing near the barrier that stops you from falling into water unless you bounce over it.

for broken bones, I found that landing from high up is easiest way, but rollign down hills you get higher hospital bill..tell us if you get it Ben.

As for RB6 Vegas, I only have the demo and multi player demo, its really fun..I like it better then the GRAW2 multi player demo, its such a fun map and tons of pwnage goes on.

yeah man! crackdown is insane..i lvoe that game..i have it.its insane..the acheivments are easy..

im level 2 agility, level 4 strength, level 2 firearms, level 2 driving..the agility orbs are so easy to find in that game

I wouldn't even rent crackdown, I got the demo off of live marketplace..its cool how its like freeroaming, you can drive cars, and weapons are nice..but the graphics, controls, and in the demo gameplay..it wasn't very good I thought. But the game now is probably better than the demo and demos are never the same as playing the game from start.

you need to move the 360 up to where the modem is and plug the cord that would connect it to a computer into the back of your 360. Plus you need Live. Ther is a wireless accesory you can buy for it but it costs a bit much.

yea, you can by the microsoft or third party 360 wireless ports, some routers come with a wireless feature, but I don't think they can fit into another port like the one on the 360. If you can't move it, see if you can get a long cord, the 360 comes with one..but you may need a longer one to go through the roof/floor.

The PS2 version is better, when the 360 came out, THAW was already out on PS2 and they just like transfered it and gave it lesser quality because of the transfer, seriously I think the PS2 version is better IMO, but It would be good for the collection, plus achievements.

You need to set the setting on your computer...you do it in the Network settings..let me find it, and i will tell you..

Well I'd go pick up time card or the xbox live package. The package comes with a 12year membership, Wired Headset, Vision Live Camera, 200 Microsoft Points, and 2 arcade demos. If you don't want the full set just buy some time, and a wired or wireless headset if you don't have one. The vision camera is a waste, basically for video chat and pictures, you use Microsoft points to buy arcade games, pictures, themes etc. Signing up for online, or some games where you type in information its good to have a keyboard, I had one form playing Thug and Thug2 online so much, game shark make some nice keyboards that are compatible for all systems =D

As for online gaming, don't be a **** to anyone and you will get rep and good reviews and will be ultimate gaming experience. If someone does trash talk to you or around your THP8 game, tell them to seriously go to hell lol. My bad reviews have only been trash talk, no biggie :p

Yes, a router that connects both 360 and computer to each other and the wall. As for cables, the 360 comes with a wireless controller, headset, and the Category 5 Ethernet cable. So it may not be long enough, but it comes with one that hooks into the back of the 360 and the router.

Achievemants are gained from getting to certain milestones in games, like unlocking levels, gaining so much money, they go from easy to really hard. Achievemnts are used for nothing, just to show basically you finished the games you've played. To purchase Movies, arcade games, themes, pictures it used Microsoft Points which cost real money from EBgames or something, big waste of money In my opinion lol. You can download free demos (tons of them) for really any game that has come out for the 360 and ones that are coming out, even arcade demos! as for themes and pictures, most games come with themes and pictures.

Unless you get over 75,000 Acheivements...some guy 3 months ago hit over 100k, can't remember what they called it when you get people in europe and china to beat games and you pay them or steal saved game copys so you immediatly get 1000 acheivement points. Like, no one can completely finish 100 games in less then a year time that the 360 has been out, now he's got like 150,000.

Dude, that's super ****in crazy man, I have almost 1,000, because I thought you could buy games and stuff with them (confused with Microsoft points) so I printed off a list for most of my games achievements...lol I suck at life, I might get more though... One more question Etnieskater a.k.a. god of the 360... how can I change my gamer picture to like family guy or something other than the default pics, I have two demos with backwards compatibility updates and they say they come with guitar hero II gamer pictures, so how do I change it? When you turn it in and log in or whenever your at the main screen that has your Profile on the top left with the Messages/Friends/Chat and I'm and the xbox live information and stuff...Click on your profile and it takes you to another screen, click edit game profile then the gamer picture. I think any game you play saves the pics on hard drive automatically.

On the first one you can turn on the heat vision stuff online and see through walls and see people HAHA, easily I topped almost every game people can sometimes tell though especially if there doing it too. On the second one its really hard, lots of shading and no heat vision :(

I played my cousins PSP, it was pretty great for a handheld system, I don't know If I'd buy one though at hte moment since I'm saving up for a vehicle and complete new snow setup this season hoping to actually get some gear that works to work on sponsorship at the bigger hill.

Yea I saw Ben playing it when I actually went online so i was like "ZOMG Skate". I posted a blurb in the Skate thread, I *love* a few aspects but *hate* a few aspects. It's the demo so I'm unsure. I don't like relating it to THP8 since it came out last year but I am waiting for a second THPG Trailer that doesn't have 1min of Nail the trick,grab and manual because you can't relate that to Skate.

X360s at EB Games were $400 CDN when I looked for one, went to Walmart and got one for $320 CDN. I would try Wal Mart, or any superstore kind of retailer before the EB games or core game shops.

You can also try getting used 360s, I think they go for $260 CDN mostly now. But you might get one of the first models which may have some bugs still. Like glitching out and such. But if you get online then you can download the updates, I think they help I'm not sure.

fable was a great game, haha i had ****in huge horns from being so evil (killed my sister and looted basically every village and killed so many guards). i have lost planet the actual game its a good game.

yeah fable is a good game. its so easy to kill the last boss. all i did was use berserk. uhh and i just started a new file to be evil. its more fun than being good.

well it was orginally supposed to release on teh eleventh, but now its on the 14th. for america at least. i dont know about canada. but i was all pumped up for it, and now i gotta wait two more days. im bummed about that

If you have the windows media center hooked up with your 360 you can get it that way, I plugged my mp3 player into the 360 and did it that way.

yeah it does get pretty annoying. just make sure you keep it somewhere where it cant get moved or knocked over. like in a cabinet. if it gets moved at all while a disc is running, your gunna hear it spinning much louder than it is now.

Its cool, sorta F.E.A.R meets CSI. I'll have to get the expansion pack for the 360 since you don't need to get F.E.A.R on 360 to play it. I'll miss the SIXAXIS playing it though.

And I got the rechargable batter thing, 2 rechargable batteries cause I don't want to have to buy them when I want to play.

Those batteries I was talking about are a load of crap, they are both fully charged but they don't work. The sensor thing lights up but never connects, I left it on for 5 mins and it still wasn't reconize by my 360.

I mean that like double A batteries in general when put into the controllers last forever it seems like. I just buy a 8 pack of no name Double As for like $7CDN and it lasts forever it seems.

There is only going to be 13 360 exculsive games and 38 PS3 games this year. Heres a look at the tip of the ice. Heres some other ones, MGS 4, Grand Tursmo 5, and God of War 3 (I heard it could be out Q4 of 08 but no offical word). Again not all of them.

All the 360 has is Halo, Gears of War, and Bioshock to be honest, $50 a year to play online vs PS3's free online with built in wi-fi and bluray (and blu tooth). With those games I posted I say PS3 is the best bet.

I hardly play my 360 anymore well after I had my PS3 for so long everything else sucks IMO, it gets old fast. Or it could be the fact I have about 28 PS3 games and 6 or 7, 360 games.

Dude, if you play EA Skate at least once you'll never feel the same about Tony Hawk.

I used to love Tony Hawk games, but then i played the Skate demo and now Tony Hawk games feel really cartoonish to me. I hope they make another Skate but with the same sort of storyline as THUG, imo that's the best Tony Hawk game.

I think Im a fan of Sony more cause I owned all the past consoles, they all had great gams, and Sony means progress and saved money (just a slower start this year). If xbox chipped in wi-fi, rechargable batteries on the controllers, and at least have xbox silver to have free online (I still refuse to buy gold) it could be up there hanging with Sony.

I think the only game for the 360 Im looking forward to is Fable 2, but I should try to find a copy of the first one and give that a go.

^ you have to. i absolutely loved fable, probably my favorite RPG, though mass effect is damn good. The open endness is amazing the only problem is its WAY to short, but there lots of side missions and such to do or havoc to cause.

Im sure by the time metal gear and little big planet come out ill have gotten one since the price is lot more suitable now. but I agree live shold be free since the players host there own games anway but it does have some features PSN doesnt which almost make it worth it. and you can just get corded controllers (at least they rumble:) ) or spend all of 10 bucs on recharble battery pack.

Well if you do get 1 get the 80gb plays most PS2 games, where the 40gb plays most PS1 games. But theres tons of great non big name titles that with a little game play footage makes you want to buy it. Which is also like the 360, only 1 big name title on it before it got big (Gears of War).

I heard that xbox is going to have a hard year this year, few exculsive games this year only Fable 2 is the big name one. I'll make a thread after this post. But the new xbox I say will take features from PS3 (which Dualshock 3 is coming soon).

The new xbox might have bluray since bluray is winning in the movie world, Warner Brothers, New line, and a few others signed to start making bluray dvds. Plus the size of the data it can hold will mean that the games won't have to be stripped like UT3 when it comes to 360 (which is why I think its been pushed back at least a year and will give up a lot of content).
It could have wi-fi due to everyone wanting it but I think the new console will hurt them cause it will cost more then the other systems which will be real cheap by the time it comes out.

A question. There's three different 360 consoles now, right? The Arcade, some other, and Elite? The "some other" (cause idk the name) is the one I'm thinking of getting it. It's not that much worse than the Elite, right?

I got rockband last friday, I beat guitar solo tour on hard, and I'm halfway through drum solo tour on medium. I can't beat Green Grass and High Tides, I always start to fail during the "fast part" section. I try hit the drums in the correct timing (Yellow/Orange - Yellow/Red and repeat) but it doesn't count it. Maybe going into practice mode will help though.

I don't know how to go on Xbox Live with Rock Band. It says it has Xbox Live on the box, yet I can't find it on the main menu.

I was thinking about getting Lost but I wasn't too big on it cause I heard its a turn base game and since Microsoft downgraded it so that the only way to play the game is to pre-order it is another reason I didn't buy it. I heard you only play 70% of the game at most and the 30% you don't unless you have the code to download the extra things you miss out on an important part of the story in the game.

Well theres only a few turn base games I like FF and Dragon Quest but people where talking about Burnout and Ive yet to check it out but Im broke right now.

theres really no games that i want for the 360 at all. i keep looking in stores when i can, and theres absolutely nothing there that i would really want. other than Oblivion. and my friend is still trying to remember to bring it so i can borrow that. but its getting kinda boring.

I might have to get some shooters and play you then man, that has to be worth getting live if nothing else. Only shooters I have are Turok, Gears of War, and Bullet Witch (not sure if theres online for it)

Oh damn your the first person I know that owns that game. Its not bad at all. I might get get a few shooters on 360 like that airplane one. Sorry I don't like halo enough to buy 3 unless I can find a copy cheap.

Cool theres a game that was made my army people that Ive been thinking about getting. From the sound of things I should have got CoD 4 on 360 at least, but I didn't have one then.

Its faster to stand by a door and wait for someone to walk in and stab them then to shoot them to death. I hated that its hard to tell people apart from friend or foe on team death matches. I'll just stick to CoD 3 I guess. But Medal of Honor Airborne is beyond CoD (any of them) to me.

yeah i played the Medal of Honor: Airborne demo, and i thought it was better than CoD4. mostly because i usually dont really like shooters. but yeah to JHH i dont think it would be too even opposed to a racing game if it was a shooter. i probably suck more at shooters than you do at racing games. and with paradise online, you dont have to race. you can do co-op challenge things. as for Halo 3, i dont really like it at all. only play it because its the only thing that my friends play. and with all the playing, i still suck preetty bad at it.

I just got Halo 3, and its pretty awesome, but I still like COD 4 better. Its pretty fun running around as the Master Cheif shooting you're way through aliens to get more missions and achievements.

Also, I just tried out for a clan, called YOTN. It's the number 5 top clan for GoW and is supported by mountian dew. I tried out for the CoD 4 part though, I dont have Gears anyway.

Yeah MOH is a a new level above CoD. I like the upgrades you can get in it like a double ended ammo clip for faster reloading and the pace in the game is a lot faster then any of the CoD games in the series.

In halo I'm only on mission 3, and I'm only on like the second objective. Driving is really awesome, but i dont like the driving control style. It seems less acurate than the other kind. It should be the good old LT to Accelerate, LS to steer ,RT to brake, and the whole scenario.

thread is not dead son. I just played army of two and its pretty good and just downloaded fable to my console off the marketplace, that game still stands up to time. Plus rainbow six vegas 2 is coming out and frontline fuel of wart just came out, dark sector is coming out soon. lots of good stuff coming up

I just beat Halo 3 on normal, and next me and my friend will co-op it on Legendary while getting skulls at the same time.

Halo's online is alright, but it doesnt at all match up with Call of Duty 4. It takes like a whole pack of bullets to kill someone in Halo but in Call of Duty just shoot them like twice.

umm thats why i like halo its no fun dying after getting shot once. and one well placed sniper shot kills in one shot.

the thing i hate the most about the halo online, is really just the exp system. its so much better for CoD. for one exp point in halo you need to win one match. so you need to get 300 exp points to get to a stupid rank. why couldnt they have made it more, simple or something. it takes forever.

Definately agreed. Its like you can get 35 kills in Halo and get nothing for it but 1 exp point for winning the game, but in call of duty 35 kills would probably level you up (or help you level up if your in a higher rank) and win half the match for you, so which one gives you more credit for what you did?

I still like halo though, I like the online achievements and playing online with friends.
