My board totally snapped about 20 minutes ago... all i did was a lipslide on my rail and it just snapped.. its only a month old too, i'm so pissed

Yeah, finally a trick I have done before. Hopefully I haven't just completely lost them though. I have like 45 minutes to skate now before dinner, going to give them a few tries, but I do have to film a few trick tips for SB-C so I won't try them too much.

I've never even landed one of these (I've tried them a couple of times before but that's pretty much it), so if I ever post a match expect it to be my very first late varial heel :) Got any pointers I should know before I give them another couple of tries ?

720 flips are really a brute force trick, there is technique to them, but they aren't too subtle, chucking it around is the est way to figure out how your weight placement affects the rotation

And nice set varial! i also set this last game, it's a great trick to have. and the tricks you get from it (bigspin back foot heels, backfoot laserflips, etc) are completely awesome! im working on getting it down drops now, i've only tried and landed a 3 so far lol.... theyre really easy to over-rotate

I always did them a lot like semi flips without the semi part. I faced forward, set my front foot up like a kickflip, then ollied and pulled the tail around frontside with my toe, and the flip just worked itself out.

yeah, I'm trying a triple kickflip, I am getting so much closer than I expected to, I actually landed 3, but not landed enough to count for this game, I always land too much with my toes touching the ground, I need to jump and land like 3 inches farther back. Ha, there's nothing to be sorry for, sometimes minor things like that slip minds, no biggie ;) I wouldn't want to end DBSGOS2 too, maybe we should just postpone it or be more lenient with the deadlines for sets / matches (since it's down to the two of us now), and whenever you have access to a friend's camera you could try getting a set / match on film, I don't know, don't sweat it.

Ok, originally I wanted to set a frontside anti-bigspin kickflip, but I never landed one on film. Then I decided to get a nollie double flip body varial, and I did, but it was too dark. Thankfully, while trying the frontside anti-bigspin kickflip I got a frontside anti-bigspin just in case. I'll upload it in a bit.
EDIT: You can't see the hand sign on the anti-bigspin, and it's pretty sketchy anyways. I'm just going to use a nollie flip that I got. The handsign is still pretty bad but at least you can see I'm doing something.

Of course it's possible ;) And about my set, keep in mind that I'll be really picky on the pivots and on the rollaway. Doing the full spin in the air and still managing to roll away clean is the hardest thing about proper 360 ollies and I'll take that in consideration when it comes to appreciating the quality of the matches. My perfectionism can be disgusting sometimes :rolleyes:

Dang, I just can't get it, I can't even get a 330 like I was doing earlier! It keeps sliding away from my feet, or somehow, I don't know HOW, but somehow it half kickflips or adds a shove it and gets away from me, I can't get it to stick to my feet, but my dad said earlier today randomly, "Do you get any traction with those shoes?" and I thought about it, and decided, not really, it's pure duct tape, so maybe when I was doing my bs 330 in the past they stuck because they were fresh soles and not old duct tape. Nonetheless, I'll match this, but it will take a while, I'll have to match today too because tomorrow I'm working construction ALL day, so any tips you have to get it to stick and not flip would be MUCH appreciated.

I personally find that the way you set up your feet before this trick plays a big role in whether you're going to spin it right or not, I personally set up my feet like this :

and I think of how the toes of my back foot have to push the toe-side edge of the deck into the 360, while the heel of my front foot is going to assist the rotation by pushing on the heel-side edge of the deck during the first 180 degrees, as long as you wind up a lot with the shoulders and focus on spinning the full thing at once it should work. Also try scooping with your back foot a bit like you would for an impossible, it may help you to get the basic motion down :)

what I ended up doing, hopefully you'll count it, I made a kind of funny video with me talking to the camera as if it was you, and I always find myself saying M-R-C-K as opposed to Mr. CK, so it's kind of funny, but I got two lands that had a bit of pivot, tell me if it counts or if I need to refilm it, if I have to refilm it, I can't today, the batteries died, I wanted to film a set for my turn after I landed the 360, but it died on my, luckily I managed to get an easy set for my GOC and I made a video of my shoes, that will be getting it's own thread soon, haha.

Nah, sorry DBS but that backside 360 doesn't count, I had specified that pivots wouldn't count and I don't see why the rules would differ just for you ;) I tend to regard backside 180 pivots and backside 360s as entirely different tricks, and there's a whole world between both in terms of difficulty, and even though I can be quite lenient, pivoting a full 180 is pushing it. Nice attempt though, you had nothing to lose to try and hope :icon_gigg

i did, i got something, its ok, i think i have a chance to get another blast at the b/s 360, i can normally do them fine its just a lack of ideal conditions and yet more pouring rain, i didn't really fancy slipping out on an over or under rotation and falling into a pile of used needles

DBS, I'm in the exact situation. It's been raining non-stop here, so I figured I'd skate in my building, but it's all wet inside. I don't want an extension though, because I hate backside 360s with a passion. It took me a VERY long time to land one the other day, just to find that my camera shut off. That was not very fun, and it's not something I'd like to repeat. So if it's dry, I'll try them for a few minutes tomorrow, but I'm not spending another hour slipping out and landing on my hip every other try.

If you really wanted to get me out you could just set a pressure flip or a fakie varial heelflip, I can't do either of those.

I'm 99% sure they are since roboman did an impossible 1 foot landing in a previous gos.

I think I might have gotten the heelflip late shove-it because I've been doing heelflips and they are getting pretty high now.

i'll be able to match this next time i am out, i've been doing this trick for years now (or at least learned it about 4 years ago) i'll get this done once i can sort camera out and once my knee calms down, its behaving strangely today

I think I would have to be in Super Saiyan mode to be able to bust out a fakie heel late fs bigspin. Darran do you think you could do a heelflip back foot hardflip? Or have you done that before?

i did it before, in my wild days i used to do hardflip late hardflips, my late hards are very versatile because i used to do them so much, once the control of the first part of the trick is there, its just a matter of treating it like an ollie-late hardflip, its just mental prepairation

my inward heels suck, but i've thought about it, i reckon with a bit of practise my inward heel would be good enough for the late hard, the timing wouldn't be too different from shove it late f/s shove its i would guess

Do you happen to have any footage of a hardflip late hardflip? That's the type of trick that you do in a Tony Hawk game then laugh at how unrealistic it is.

i've added 360 flip late hard to my current wish list, my 360 flip late shove is nice enough at the moment, with a bit of speed as well (nice change for me, rolling fast)

Well I gave your switch laser a few tries today and it seems doable, however it tends to interfere with my switch 360 kiwi flips quite a lot and since I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time in front of the camera trying to get an obviously heelflipped one on film and I can afford it since I only have a S, I think I'll just take a letter on that one ;) I've already filmed my set though, be prepared ! :icon_gigg

Darran, how do you get the full 360 spin on these? Do you pop hard or kind of scoop it?

i learned them by pretending to do front foot impossibles, i don't really scoop them very much, pop, flip land, its a pretty instinctive trick once the rotation starts getting around

So I went out, and gave this trick a whirl, for the fun of it, and got lucky to land on the board, but got unlucky to fall on my back and nearly shattered my elbow :( (I don't think the board did a flip, it did a really fast 360 shove-it, and because I just jumped as high as I could to, when I came down, I didn't expect the board to be underneath me...

It's my set now right ? :) I filmed a little something today.

Haha, I doubt I will ever win one honestly...since GOS3, I think I threw more then 3/4 my trick stuff (anything besides kickflips and such), so people know what to expect, and unless I play my cards right, its tough to work around you all at different times when I know one guy has that trick but needs a letter soon, this guy can't do it, and he has no letters yet, but do I throw it??? ya know...
