Here are the rules for the FGOS VI, all discussion to be in this thread also.

Basically, this is going to be quite a lax game.
We shall play to London timing. (GMT)
The game shall begin at 6:00PM, Friday the 15th June.
Setting time shall be 2 days (48 hours)
Matching time shall be 5 days (120 hours)
No hands/feet on the floor allowed
No flatland street (i.e. ollie kickflips, varial flips, whatever)
Wheelies/footwork do not constitute as legitimate sets
Unlike other games, there shall only be allowed one trick per set. One trick constitutes as a base position, a transition and then a new base position (i.e base position - grip, transition - 360 shuvit, base position - grip, or base position - tailstop, transition - 1 1/4 tailhandflip, new base position - hs rail.) The exit from the base position after the transition is up to you, for example if you were to do a casper to casper you could chose to shuv out, half flip..whatever, however this does not have to be matched.
Matches shall be approved by me. If I do not say anything about your match within 24 hours of it being posted, consider it legitimate. If there is doubt about a match I have approved, please raise it with me in private stating your concern and why you are not happy with the match. My word is final
Please keep matches as clean as possible and upload them as early as possible to avoid disappointment if your submitted match was rejected.
When posting a set, please may you state the day and time matches are due, all times to be in GMT.

I wouldn't know, as I shan't be running it. This is purely for this game, as i'm fed up of people setting ridiculous combos such as tail to rail to railflip to rail to tail to tailhandflip to tail to 50-50 to rail to.. etc. This shall make it far more interesting I believe and allow a greater range of tricks to be set.

well when the game comes around, you could always ask for this to be introduced in the rules. People are nice and will generally consider requests.

I think its pretty much no ollie flip variations, so I guess that would be a no :(

i like the whole one trick a set as it will force us to try and learn that trick if we cant do it ( which i like ) but if its in a big combo its harder to.

Well a varial 3/4 flip to rail isn't flatland street, so I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed. If other people in the game have massive problems with it, then I'll make it no ollie variations allowed, but as it stands I don't see a problem with it.

I know I have nothing to do with this game, but having a position-transition-position thing is such a cool idea. :)

Glad to see people aren't opposed to it, I just watched other games and some people were just getting stupid. I'm as capable as the next guy as stringing 20 tricks into one combo, but it makes for stupid sets.

i dont really want ollie tricks pressure tricks shuvs i think should be allowed but oillie flips and stuff might as well be in a gos not a fgos.

well to be fair, pressureflips are more of a street trick than a freestyle trick. I would agree with you if it were something like a varial flip, but by introducing a freestyle aspect such as a landing to rail it creates a hybrid rather than 'flatland street' as was sepcified in the rules..

That's no reason to object to it, otherwise you could just band every trick you couldn't do, in which case the game wouldn't go anywhere. I personally can't ollieflip regularly, let alone to rail, but I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed to be set.

I say go for it. A kickflip isn't technically street, and a kickflip to rail is quite obviously freestyle. Knaamean?

Tucker, a halfcab impossible is indeed my set. I would have tried to get a slightly cleaner one, though it was raining quite hard and I don't enjoy electrical equiptment being exposed to water.

Steve - As long as it's a half-cab impossible with some kind of hooking i'm not bothered where you do it, so long as it's a nice fluid motion with definite wrapping instead of horizontal rotation.

i will give it a go, I got nose hooks a while back i hope its not hard to do the 180 part.

2. The closer your backfoot is to the bolts, the better the wrap on the impossible (the main reason you see so many shuvity versions of this is that people have their foot too close to the tip of the tail)
3. Make sure it's a fluid motion between beginning the pivot and carrying on with the spin!
4. Start the impossible at about 90 degrees
5. When you go for the impossible, concentrate on doing a vertical impossible rather than an impossible with a 90 degree turn. Another reason you see shuvity halfcab impossibles is that people try and force the board round the extra 90 which results in it spinning horizontally. If you've done the trick right so far (i.e. with a fluid motion) then the momentum you have will carry you the extra 90 allowing you to concentrate on getting a vertical wrap.

It's a bit dark so hard to see, and the definition of the cross foot isn't helped by the fact I'm wearing black trousers, so I'll re-film it in shorts and lighter conditions if you like. I took two of the hardest slams I've had this year trying to get that though, so I hope it's ok :)

Haha, this trick is a dangerous trick if you have no expirience with cross foot landings. I filmed my match just today but forgot the handsignal. I think I mention to the camera that I forgot the signal so you can still tell its recent. I will post up tonight.

i redid it for the third time because i was doubting it would count. its still underrotated, but i KNOW i crossed my feet this time.

I can nose 360 shuvit, but the X footed part is a huge problem for me. Ive shot out numerous times on this trick, landing X footed destroys any balance I have. It probably doesn't help that I have almost no experience with X footed tricks...

Ok, my video camera is acting up again so the video is pretty much ruined. I'll have to delay the match and match maybe monday when my parents bring back the digital cam. Digital camera's make filming tricks so much easier :)

when i was doing the nollie 360 shuvit-x foot, i spun the board, and my back foot landed under the front truck. so the truck just came down and crushed my toes.

I actually planned on setting a completely different trick, but I couldn't stick it and got too frustrated...I thought a carousel was a nice alternative, although they do look ugly as sin when I do them...

Is it alright if you catch the carousel with your oposite hand that you grab the nose with. I first learned carousels that way and do them ¨Differently¨then others. The trick itself is still the same, but done with a different style...............let me know.

Funnily enough Tucker, as soon as I saw what was set I thought about you and your hands. Strangely, I have to do my 'switch' carousels like that...no idea why.

Necro had the same thing to say in the BFGOS2 thread. The way I see it, theres only two of us left in BFGoS2, me and Infernomax. Right now were both also in FGoS VI, and the last couple tricks set I wouldn't consider as 'beginner' as all the other tricks. Plus Max knows how long I've been wanting/trying to learn this trick, so I figured of all people he wouldn't have a problem with it. I hope that may clear things up a bit.

I used to be hardcore into freestyle back in the 80's. Okay not that long ago, hehe. My first 2 years of skating went to freestyle and I was commited to it for those 2 years. Now adays I rarely freestyle and joining this game has been a fun oportunity to bring back those good old' days :)

Something looks fishy about that trick. It looks like more of a fakie 360 under flip to me. I guess your feet wern't exactly in the traditional oldschool stance, one foot was at the tip of the nose, while the other foot was at the back bolts...............what do you think?

how you can see the foot goes a little bit under the board, but that's normal.

there's also a video from bob showing a os flip, were you see that I'm right.


underflip should be somethig completely different.

it's some kind of fakie.

but i use the regular foot for the pressure, and front foot for the flip.


Don't confuse is it with the 360 os flip where use the regular foot to flip it.

But the opposite: regulare foot for the pressure on the board, and front foot for flip motion.

Right, the guy with the camera came through. Filmed a match for the fakie kickflip to rail this morning (which is in the tricks thread) and lost patience with Mario's trick; I could either get it to rotate fully and only half flip, or flip fully and only get a 270 rotation.

First a filmed same trick as you, but with a full 180 flip.



Late shov it shoud actually be after a full 3/4 rotation, then shuv it. But think your trick should be also ok.

The transfer is a half fingerflip thrown sidewinder, but it looks like a shuvit. Just think about doing a half varial fingerflip with your back hand.

No hands/feet on the floor allowed
No flatland street (i.e. ollie kickflips, varial flips, whatever)
Wheelies/footwork do not constitute as legitimate sets

Ok, all day I've been waiting for it to stop raining, and it's still pouring, and everyones asleep so I had to go into the basement and quickly get any quiet trick on camera. Ended up being a saran wrap which luckily didn't wake anyone up, but still it feels really bad just setting that.

If theres any way I can get like a 14 hour extension that would be great so I can actually set something in the morning, if not, then everyone enjoy an easy match :(
