XD IFoughtTheLaw 10-04-2007, 06:12 PM i love playing guitar. ive been playing like 3 and a half years. I love it. i have 2 ibanez electrics and one other acoustic. guitar is the bomb. nosnorb 10-04-2007, 06:14 PM I know some guitar from my friend but im really not that good at it. Shorty's_Kid 10-04-2007, 09:53 PM I play guitar. I'm not very good. My top 5 songs to play: 1. The words "Best Friend" Become Redefined by Chiodos (including the keyboard part.. which i cant do very well yet, hard as hell on guitar) 2. 94 hours by As I Lay Dying 3. The Darkest Nights by As I Lay Dying 4. Entombment of a Machine by Job for a Cowboy 5. Story of my old man by good Charlotte (Fun to play... it's easy, and sounds cool) And right now i'm learning Tilting the Hourglass by Alesana. It's pretty hard, it'll take me a while to get it down. I'm not very good at skipping strings, and there's lots of that in there. Rebel 10-05-2007, 04:31 PM As I Lay Dying rocks! ZephyrGod 10-05-2007, 05:41 PM I play too. My fav things to play are: 1. Pretty much any Red Hot Chili Peppers song. 2. Castles Made Of Sand - Jimi Hendrix. 3. Mother - Pink Floyd 4. The Pixies stuff is fun to play. 5. Any chugging Pantera riffs which i can manage to play. ZooCork21 10-06-2007, 10:56 PM Bass Acoustic Electric I like bass the most but a good acoustic song is delicious. Rebel 10-07-2007, 02:15 AM My Dad plays bass. I know enough to get by on root notes, so I still have allot of work to do. :) ZooCork21 10-07-2007, 12:46 PM I dont even know the actual notes and chords and that. I play tabs and my friend who wrties the music for our band tabs it for everyone. Ive been playing bass for about a year and guitar for about 5. Rebel 10-08-2007, 02:15 AM For the E string and the A string I know the notes for bass (or guitar, same thing) but beyond that I rely on tabs. Daddy-O 10-08-2007, 12:30 PM Been playing for 30 years...mostly fingerstyle streel-string acoustic including chord-melody jazz, hymns, gospel, bluegrass, classical, and original compositions. Currently playing an Ovation Custom Balladeer and saving up for something along the lines of a Taylor 410-CE. Back in my electric days, I played Gibsons including a late-70s SG, ES-175, and my all-time favorite, the ES-335. The best thing I ever did when I started playing was to learn how to read standard music notation. My favorite guitarist overall would have to be Al DiMeola. MichSkater 10-08-2007, 05:52 PM yeah! I've been playing for about 3 years. My favorite stuff to play is Lamb of god and Metallica. i have a Les Paul (Epiphone) with a Seymour Duncan invader for a bridge pick up. Currently playing an Ovation Custom Balladeer and saving up for something along the lines of a Taylor 410-CE. 30 years? Wow. That's awsome. I dont like jazz as a whole, but the guitar sounds pretty cool in that music. I want to start learning it soon. In other news, i just learned how to play Minuet by From First to Last. Acoustic instrumental, it's pretty awsome. Hand stretches are a pain in the ass though... having to switch from A5-D7-G9 to D3-G2-E0 is pretty **** hard when you are new to guitar like me. haha. But i can do it. :=] Buy the way, when i said "a3-d2"etc... the letter is the string, and the number is the fret. lol. drc6491 10-10-2007, 07:05 PM 2 years yo. You're doing well if you can play them cleanly. Get the basics down and learn theory. I have to emphasize the theory part so much. Start learning it from the beginning as it will benefit you greatly in the future; it's the backbone of learning guitar. I wish I'd started it earlier. Learn some simple songs that you'll enjoy playing too like: Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana Come As You Are - Nirvana Heart Shaped Box - Nirvana Smoke On The Water - Deep Purple Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton Keep at it bro; you'll never regret it. :icon_wink |
