How would you go about increasing your ollie height?

keep doing them. The only tips I can give are to suck up your knees real high and perfect the pop/slide motion of the ollie.

Define calf raises. (I'm not that Gym savvy)
And yeah, practice.

just stand on the ground and raise up onto you toes stay there for 5 seconds, and slowly go back down repeat for like 5 sets of 10 reps

We did these in Drumline with our heels hanging off a curb, but I don't recommend that unless you have really strong calf muscles

you have to eat some bacon, that will definately help, and also, you must press this code:

up, up, down, left, square, x, triangle, triangle, down, left, left, R2, D2, up...

after that, your ollies will be much higher ;)

no, its not, cus when you ollie if you ollie right the board pushes you up + speed = higher than you can jump. ollie's are not jumps, there momentum.

bring your backfoot up and in, like boning your ollies. thatll get you up and over higher things.

Yeah it is if you notice people who are just learning ollies barely jump so their ollies are really low to the ground and as they get better they jump higher and their ollies are higher.

i can jump higher than i can ollie fisho. but my ollies are like 2 inches high.

you should run 5 miles a day. and then practice your ollie. join 24 hour fitness if you want some good ollies

Learn to ollie up curbs at speed. This will help you get the timing of a moving ollie. Find taller curbs and ledges to ollie up. Once you have the moving ollies down, start taking them over things and learn to do them off driveway transitions. Eventually you'll really get the coordination down, and you'll be cracking fat ollies at will and pulling your knees way up to your chest with steez.

The key is really getting leverage with your lead foot, it should practically turn upside down on the board.

Pop hard, and jump high! Timing is important too, and when you reach the highest part, level out. I don't know about you, but one day I suddenly decided to try ollie as high as possible. I set up, counted 3,2,1, bam! Hip height. After a while, it doesn't take much effort. Personally, ollieing over stuff makes my ollies lower, maybe since I have to go faster, and I'm scared. But just practise and practise. My tip would just start learing ollieing onto things, making them higher and higher every time you can clear it.

Jump a lot of things. Seriously, the ollie OVER something is a totally different beast to the random ollie when you feel like it. The added need for timing throws you off - pop too early or late and it's torn jeans.

Well there is no real skill in increasing your height of your ollie. Its pretty simple; the higher you jump then the higher you ollie. So really to increase the height of a ollie just jump as high as you can.

To pop over something high I put my front foot pretty low on the board, pop way earlier than you think you need to ( not TOO early ) and just suck up.

TRUE but maybe other people will come to this thread and gets some tips :)

Only advice I have is to pop HARD, jump HIGH, and suck your knees as much as you can.

Practise ollies by doing them onto things, not just on flat ground. Best tip ever, trust me (probably not). Bend down quite far, jump hard. As you jump, pop HARD.As you reach the top of your ollie, level out with your front foot. Instead of smacking your feet down when your in the air. Stay bent while you fall down, maybe straighten your legs a slight bit. It looks way better, and if your doing gaps, it can help you ollie slightly further.

Cheers!

I find it that when you pop it hard enough you have to remember or maybe focus on sucking your back foot up as soon as you slide your foot for the ollie, I was amazed at how high I was able to ollie when I focused more on my back foot and tucking it in, probably 2 and a half feet or less I'm not sure

you dont need to pop super hard, you just got to pop real fast and you will here a quick *snap!* if done right, then jump high and suck your legs up.

i ollied like 5 decks today and what u gotta do is:
1. dont go too fast, stay at a constant rate
2. have lots of time to set up
3. do multiple crouches before ollieing
4. then do a monster crouch as far down as u can and pop like a maniac, once ur at the peak of ur pop, slide ur foot up, but suck ur feet up like CRAZY. and i mean CRAZY.

oh and quick tip, try bringing ur front foot back more, like behind the middle of the board. it helps.

Uh.... Tuck your legs up until they hit your chin? (I've done that a few times actually its really painful.)

If you're doing something like a high ollie contest, or ollieing onto a high box, just when you pop make youre front foot kick down more so your nose goes down and youre tail goes up, way up!

I could always get pretty high, but to really do it. Just imagine yourself hopping over what ever you are attempting. Think of it as just jumping over it. If you focus on other stuff, it probably won't happen. Besides practice, nothing has helped me more. Simplify and put the time in.

Um, while I was learning ollies, my back trucks were barely lifting off the ground.
I was doing the pop, jump, and slide perfectly, but the back trucks were not lifting.
Then, I had a spark and I remembered to bend down deep, and suddenly: my ollies were flyin off the ground at 8 inches+.
So, the moral of this story is, bend your knees a lot more before jumping, practice your technique, and your ollies will start to blast off the ground.
