must be something hard if its taking nearly 3 hours lol...
He may be trying his best to add an extra flip to his switch 360 underflips :) I think I can picture him trying over and over again, all sweaty and struggling to get the last 1/2 flip, landing on the graphic side of his board three times per minute and swearing to himself that it's the last time he ever tries this stupidly frustrating trick.
(I filmed my switch 360 underflip and my impossible revert today by the way, so I'll be ready to post a match as soon as he posts his set if he hasn't changed in mind during his sesh of course)
Sev7n 01-09-2008, 04:56 PM ^ Probably something extremely frustrating :o

More like, went to the corner store, bought water, was all psyched out about skating after a boring day of school, got to his spot, set up the camera, then got impaled by two hours of rain. I did have a back up set which was a switch front foot impossible, but after I landed I rolled for a bit, was off balance, so I pushed off a pillar because I didn't want to turn into it. I think it should be ok, I had gotten plenty of roll, and it's obvious I could have turned if it wasn't there. If it doesn't count, I'll film something before school and upload it during break time or something.

ITs not my call, but I think it will probably count.
Sonix 01-09-2008, 07:10 PM I would also count that
bguitarist34 01-09-2008, 07:32 PM haha. Sonix, you won't even have to do anything if it counts.
atrain 01-09-2008, 07:33 PM ^i think its good enough
Pathtek4 01-09-2008, 07:39 PM What is this, caveman days with a ROCK?? lmfao! I'm erring on the side of no, only because the pole kept ya from falling over...everything else looked good though, but 3 yes, and 1 no...anyone else?
skatermccrank 01-09-2008, 07:44 PM I wouldn't count that because you were leaning so far back that if the pillar wasn't there you were probably for sure gonna fall.
Supersonix6 01-09-2008, 07:46 PM Well i know Qtip has done switch front footers before so im sure he could refilm one in a sec. There´s still time to set right?
Sonix 01-09-2008, 07:47 PM haha. Sonix, you won't even have to do anything if it counts.
****, I got caught ! haha
bguitarist34 01-09-2008, 07:48 PM ****, I got caught ! hahahahaha.
anyway, for qtip's set. It's a really tough decision because you did have roll away but you would have fallen off without the pillar.
Sonix 01-09-2008, 07:51 PM Well, I think I saw few more of his videos of him doing switch ff impossible, so you can refilm easily? You still have some time
Sev7n 01-09-2008, 07:54 PM I think Tom should have to refilm it, he does them a lot.
If the pillar weren't there I could have turned, which is what I normally do.
Royalgriffin 01-09-2008, 08:20 PM ****, I got caught ! haha
We all saw that prefilmed set/match haha.
Dang I was so proud of the switch 360 underflip and the impossible revert I had filmed : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBtaVbVlazY and now they become useless... (:icon_blah)
Anyway I personally think that your trick is a no-no, however since we all know you can do them, I wouldn't be against counting it for now (so everyone has something to sink their teeth into for a couple of days) as long as you refilm a better one as soon as you can as a confirmation, does this sound like a plan everyone ?
bguitarist34 01-10-2008, 08:02 AM ^ thats good with me.
Pathtek4 01-10-2008, 08:21 AM Ok, then deal, the set has been made, and we have till Monday 8am to match (why'd I pick that time, cause it became a ''official'' set right now :p)
OK then I'm going to have a 5-minute sesh on my infamous parking lot just to get one on film, I'm so lazy I was seriously starting to consider doing it in my pyjamas in front of my house but I'll just kick myself in the butt, go dress up (it's 2:30 PM here after all :icon_drdo) and move my lazy self to act decently :D

Dress up?? I hope to see Full Suit and Tie :p
Well all you get is the good, old jeans / white tee outfit but you have no idea of how much of an improvement it is compared to how I usually look when I wake up
(... but if it doesn't slip my mind until then, I may give the suit and tie combo a try next time I have to match a trick for this game, do I get removed letters for extra laughter points ?)
skatermccrank 01-10-2008, 12:29 PM Any tips on this? I can't even do a reg. impossible
Set up as you would for a switch fs pop shove-it with the toes of your front foot hanging off a little bit, pop as you would pop a switch fs pop shove-it, point your toes down (very important), guide the board around and land, a lot of people find this trick easier in switch stance.
atrain I don't want to be a prick or anything since I know you can do better ones but what happened to your rollaway ? From what I see you didn't get the full rotation and had to ticktack away from the trick, therefore I don't think your match should count or everyone else is just going to do the same thing for each trick in the future, justifying themselves with how you got away with it and that would ruin the game, would you mind refilming a better one please ? (shouldn't be too much of a hassle knowing you :))
Alright thanks guys, I'll film a good one today.
bguitarist34 01-10-2008, 04:33 PM i should be able to get this. I can do nollie bf impossibles pretty good but I've only landed one decent switch ff before.
Sonix 01-10-2008, 04:44 PM My match is up :)
skatermccrank 01-10-2008, 05:22 PM Sonix, that was almost perfect. Good Job!
bguitarist34 01-10-2008, 05:28 PM im gonna go try for a little. i find this to be the 2nd easiest impossible variation, but don't get me wrong it's still a pretty hard trick. I think i can match this.
Alright thanks guys, I'll film a good one today.
I take this back. My camera didn't have any charge left so I went to the skatepark instead.
skatermccrank 01-10-2008, 05:34 PM Well I have strep throat but I will probably try to do this tomorrow anyway.
bguitarist34 01-10-2008, 06:41 PM i only got to try for about 20 minutes tonight. the best i got was one just under 270 degrees and i rolled away sideways lol.
Royalgriffin 01-10-2008, 06:58 PM I'll start giving it a shot. :D
EDIT on the progress.
______________
Went out for my first time to ever really try the trick. I landed 270 in about 2 minutes, and landed and slipped in about 4. Around 5 I landed my first sketchy one and now I just need to get them consistent. Once again, Qtip. Thanks for making me learn this :D

...i should have expectdd you to say that. i actually got just about the same rotation as sonix did initially, and i started to roll if you watch carefully, my weight was just distributed such that i had to turn to avoid falling off. but whatever
Supersonix6 01-10-2008, 09:53 PM I find it amusing how switch front foot impossibles arn´t a big deal anymore. Like there´s already 3 matches in the first day!
I remember back in the day when this trick was a shocker. Now it´s a common thing.
Actually I think most tech tricks are starting to loose there ¨wow¨value. These last couple years we have seen such a wide variety of tech/uncommon tricks and there´s so many new people learning them.
Now that I look at it, these games of skate bring out the most creative tricks from us and will continue to every game.

Must spread reputation :D -----EDIT: Its true. Just looking back at the other GOS videos, its funny. (someone set a hardflip in a game of skate 7 and only 2 people landed it!)
EDIT: Here is a quick vid of one of my closer attempts. I went into tailstop on purpose, just so you know ;). Anyway, I slowed the second one down so you could see it better. I can actually do it fairly consistently, but haven't gotten the full flip to stay under me yet. It looks kinda like the inverse of a 360 hospital flip late flip, so it would be like a switch front foot impossible late flip, or underflip? Because I kick it over the top almost like a 1 1/4 underflip flip (in the vid I only ended up with 3/4 underflip)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z5Vr8Jrfu0
0z5Vr8Jrfu0
ALSO-I would appreciate if all videos could be posted on youtube so I can get them off.
Supersonix6 01-11-2008, 01:58 AM **** son!
You learn fast! Again with a super close match :D
...i should have expectdd you to say that. i actually got just about the same rotation as sonix did initially, and i started to roll if you watch carefully, my weight was just distributed such that i had to turn to avoid falling off. but whatever
Heh, don't take it the wrong way because I don't mean to be annoying or anything, but I'm just going by how the game is supposed to work ;) Besides I'm just saying that seeing how switch front footers don't seem to be hard for you it would be better for everyone if you could film a better one for the game in order to set things straight (not to mention that I'm sure that if someone else was to post such a questionable match for another trick, ie. a 360 flip, you would point it out yourself). In my opinion the rollaway is an important part of this trick, we're meant to be playing a strict game in which there's no such thing as 'maybe's', therefore you either land clean or get letters and it was a too hardcore of a ticktack to me. Would it be that hard for you to do another one ?
Supersonix : exactly what I've been thinking too recently. At least now people know about what used to be 'obscure' tricks and have a wider range of choices when it comes to filling in their bag of tricks, there's a craze about them because they're new to most kids but as a trend people will eventually get sick of them and it will probably fade out, just like in the mid 90's, or even recently when handrails got people sick, making them want something different. As far as I'm concerned I couldn't care less, I just do my thing :)
atrain 01-11-2008, 07:38 PM i refilmed. i see why you didnt really like my first one MRCK, it was just frustrating at the time because i had this trick down easily but hadnt done it in awhile...
then when i went to film my match the first time, i found i just couldnt roll it away. after wayyyy too long of sticking, slipping out, sticking, slipping out etc. i finally landed that one (my first match) and i just wanted to be done with it. but when i went to refilm today they werent being as troublesome or giving me too much hassle (i actually warmed up this time instead of jumping right into the trick) so it's all good :)
bguitarist34 01-11-2008, 07:42 PM man, i have to get this tomorrow. I've been really busy with practicing baseball right after school. w00t teal!
Royalgriffin 01-11-2008, 09:05 PM **** son!
You learn fast! Again with a super close match :D
Not like this kid at the skatepark today haha. He was watching me trying switch FF impossibles and he thought I was goofy and he almost landed a regular one first try. I couldn't believe it! LOL. I'm planning on landing the actual trick tonight.
man, i have to get this tomorrow. I've been really busy with practicing baseball right after school. w00t teal!
w00t!
Varial_222 01-12-2008, 08:52 AM Ok, i've been ill for a while so i haven't gotten to skate much, i'm 95 percent recovered now though so i just grabbed a match, it will be up in a minute :)
bguitarist34 01-12-2008, 09:06 AM sick match. im gonna get a few tries in now.
EDIT: here are some attempts. i got really close to a few this morning. any advice besides keep trying?

skatermccrank 01-12-2008, 11:04 AM ^^ your SO close, i'm gonna try this one today sometime
bguitarist34 01-12-2008, 01:08 PM Man, i just hate it how i land around 270 and roll sideways. Im gonna go skate now and try more.
atrain 01-12-2008, 03:01 PM any advice besides keep trying?
let the board rotate a little more before you start pointing your toes and doing the wrap. if you watch the videos of people who matched already youll see they let it rotate at least half a shovit before they start wrapping it and doing the actual impossible motion. when you push it down before it has started doing a shovit its going to get a max of 270 every time

I'll have to practice that. Just charged my camera back up. I'm very close. i think i will get it.
skatermccrank 01-12-2008, 03:27 PM tried this trick today, no where close, kept doing varial heel WHY?!!
but i did learn a 360 shove it underflip:D
bguitarist34 01-12-2008, 04:05 PM hmm. i got one on film with enough rotation but i do one tic tac right after i land. I'll try to upload it.
Royalgriffin 01-12-2008, 05:44 PM hmm. i got one on film with enough rotation but i do one tic tac right after i land. I'll try to upload it.
Probably doesn't count.
bguitarist34 01-12-2008, 06:10 PM i have another one with roll that i just got but just in case. here is the one before.
EmhR6jJMF0s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmhR6jJMF0s
Sonix 01-12-2008, 06:11 PM I wouldn't count that. You stopped and tick tacked other way.
bguitarist34 01-12-2008, 06:13 PM ya i was expecting that. my other match is processing. it isn't exactly pretty but it should count. for god's sake i spent hours and hours trying to get a match.
oh it uploaded quite fast.
CaBhR0vaYgc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaBhR0vaYgc
Sonix 01-12-2008, 06:18 PM Not the best ff impossible I've seen but it should count. You DID get the roll without tick tack.
What do others think?
Royalgriffin 01-12-2008, 06:37 PM EEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW........
Brett, I am begging you. GO AND OUT FILM AGAIN. You landed it, you rolled away, but I have no clue how...lol. That was the ugliest actual land I have ever seen (hard to explain. Its like saying that if someone was walking any slower they would have been going backwards. Its a land, but its just so ugly..)
My opinion would be that it COULD/SHOULD count, but it would be really really good if he refilmed. I don't want to be THAT strict, but there was a bit of toe tap, and the other one you didn't roll away without the tic tac..
CAPS LOCK RULES :D
EDIT: it almost looks like your wheel did the tic tacking motion without the actual board tic tacking. When you leaned onto the board's side it went to the downhill side of your drive way. weird, lol.
bguitarist34 01-12-2008, 06:42 PM I know it's ugly but i spent a whole bunch of time. Even if i did toe tap it was the slighest thing ever. I didn't tick tack. i landed on my nose and put the board down for roll away. I think it counts. I'm sick of this trick.
Royalgriffin 01-12-2008, 06:44 PM I know it's ugly but i spent a whole bunch of time. Even if i did toe tap it was the slighest thing ever. I didn't tick tack. i landed on my nose and put the board down for roll away. I think it counts. I'm sick of this trick.
I'm not saying anything against you. I'm just saying that Pathtek said there would be no maybe's in this game, but I think you just found it :D...it SHOULD count though..
bguitarist34 01-12-2008, 06:46 PM Oh i know. i wasn't trying to like make it into a debate or anything. I'm just trying to explain to everybody why it counts.
Royalgriffin 01-12-2008, 07:56 PM Woohoo! I learned them. I realized that if I jumped a little higher, my front foot finally ended the wrap at the front of the board instead of near the back trucks. I landed these two in a row, which is why the film seems a bit unedited past the mistakes.
They will be here in a second once i upload.
EDIT: Ugh, finally. Youtube was acting up.

Varial_222 01-13-2008, 04:19 AM ^^ Haha, you can talk about bg's being ugly XD
Nah just kidding, well done for matching you two :)
bguitarist34 01-13-2008, 09:51 AM I'm so glad i got a match that counts :) i reached my goal by matching a set in this game lol.
How long have you been doing these Varial? yours was really good.
Varial_222 01-13-2008, 12:01 PM Thanks, i've been doing these for about 8 months now.
I could have done a lot better but i used the board which has very very loose trucks and i used shoes which have a weird feel, i was trying to break these in properly and just deciding to get a match without caring how bad it was.
dumbdog7723 01-13-2008, 12:37 PM When do I have to set?
Royalgriffin 01-13-2008, 12:43 PM ^^ Haha, you can talk about bg's being ugly XD
Nah just kidding, well done for matching you two :)
I actually have these fairly consistent now. Probably like 1/5? Really fun trick.
atrain 01-13-2008, 12:46 PM I wouldn't be against counting it for now (so everyone has something to sink their teeth into for a couple of days) as long as you refilm a better one as soon as you can as a confirmation, does this sound like a plan everyone ?
Whatever happened to Qtip refilming his set? oh well, i dont really care haha
When do I have to set?
your set time begins on monday at 8am and lasts for two days
Royalgriffin 01-13-2008, 12:50 PM Thanks, i've been doing these for about 8 months now.

No need to make excuses, haha. It looked fine.

I was wondering about that. I haven't been able to contact him for a couple days.
Please remember, everyone. Post all tricks on YOUTUBE so I can get them off.
skatermccrank 01-13-2008, 01:56 PM HELP! It always does a varial heel. WHY?!
HELP! It always does a varial heel. WHY?!
If you mean a switch varial heel, that's probably because you try to flick out instead of just pointing the toes of your front foot down and guiding the board around. If you mean a regular varial heel then I actually have no idea except that you may be trying the wrong trick :)
Royalgriffin 01-13-2008, 02:15 PM If you mean a switch varial heel, that's probably because you try to flick out instead of just pointing the toes of your front foot down and guiding the board around. I have to move my foot like a switch varial heel but then just not flick out. Think almost like switch hardflip from the toeside of the board. That should make it wrap.
Eh I've been busy with midterms and whatnot and haven't had time to refilm the set. I'll see if I can skate a bit today.
bguitarist34 01-13-2008, 02:31 PM When do I have to set?DD! you're alive! haha. can't wait for your set :)
Royalgriffin 01-13-2008, 08:29 PM DD! you're alive! haha. can't wait for your set :)
I'm not scared! {help)
When do I have to set?
If I'm not mistaken there's about three hours left for the switch front footer then it's your set :)
Pathtek4 01-14-2008, 07:04 AM Dumbdog, its your set man...
I ended up snapping my board yesterday with a 360flip ramp transfer, caught a HUGE goose egg on my shin when the front half of the board flung up and the truck nailed me...I am so frickin' soar from that bail yesterday. I bought a Black Label deck, just to try it (employee discount at the park, woohoo, $30), and ended up nearly destroying the front nose when the board shot out from under me and it a pillar at the park....what a bad day it was
I did try this trick a few times, but wtf, my back foot pretending to be my front foot doesn't understand to actually ''do'' something, lol, darn them switch tricks
dumbdog7723 01-14-2008, 04:25 PM Okay, how long do I have?
atrain 01-14-2008, 04:56 PM ^8am wednesday i believe
Royalgriffin 01-14-2008, 06:36 PM Looking forward to it! Its the week before finals and the teachers are piling on the homework, so I'll hopefully find the time somewhere.
bguitarist34 01-14-2008, 06:38 PM It sucks that I have baseball conditioning right after school for this whole week now. We finish school at 3:42 then conditioning goes from 4:00 to around 5:30. I get home at 6 lol. The only time i will really have is Saturday to try for DD's set. bah
At least my set is already filmed.

who on earth decided that it was a good idea to let school out at 3:42? i wonder how that discussion went...
"Well 3:30 surely wont do"
--"No, no, that's much too early to end classes"
"and 4:00 is much too late"
--"Yes, yes much too late, assuredly sir"
"How about 3:45?"
--"...Hmm, theres something about it that just wont do"
"Ah yes.. wait, the solution to this conundrum! Ive got it! 3:42!"
--"Perfect! Perfect!"
DD was this a cab flip or a nollie cab flip ?
Anyway I'm not too fond of the underrotation, but I guess the trick still counts since you managed to roll away (even though it was rather forced) and I know the angle probably made the rotation look worse than it actually was. Pathtek's take on this would be appreciated though, as usual :)
dumbdog7723 01-15-2008, 05:46 PM Fakie. Had no time for nollie.
bguitarist34 01-15-2008, 05:55 PM who on earth decided that it was a good idea to let school out at 3:42? i wonder how that discussion went...
"Well 3:30 surely wont do"

"Ah yes.. wait, the solution to this conundrum! Ive got it! 3:42!"
--"Perfect! Perfect!"hahaha. i know it's pretty weird. We start really late at 9:30 and end at 3:42! nice set DD. might get me lettered.
Sorry DD but I really don't think that should count. That was hardly more than a half cab flip.
Now that I watch it again I think it definitely shouldn't count, you wouldn't have rolled away if it wasn't for how you used your hips after landing the trick, and you barely even got to 270 degrees. Seeing how there's no such thing as 'maybe's' in this game I would really appreciate it if you could re-set. Hopefully you don't mind ;)
But as I said in my previous post I think it's better to wait for Pathtek's approval.
dumbdog7723 01-15-2008, 08:07 PM How can I reset? Its dark, I'm not allowed out, and the set is due 8am tomorrow. I guess you can count me out then. I definatley won't be able to reset.
bguitarist34 01-15-2008, 08:09 PM I don't think anybody would mind if you need until tomorrow afternoon to film something. That might work out. Pathtek is on. Maybe he will say what will happen.
dumbdog7723 01-15-2008, 08:11 PM Well, I will send him a PM.
Pathtek4 01-15-2008, 08:13 PM Go ahead and take till tomorrow night Dumbdog, no need to pm me....I think we all can understand your dellima being its late and all...we'll just change it to 8pm if thats cool
dumbdog7723 01-15-2008, 08:15 PM Ok thank you.
I might need an extension on DD's trick if I can't film it tomorrow. I think I have testing on Thursday, and I'll be out of the city from Friday to Monday.
Royalgriffin 01-15-2008, 10:35 PM I can understand that he would need to refilm. The fact that if you watch for board rotates no more than 200 degrees .
Is that set official or can he set something else? Should I start trying it now?
Sonix 01-16-2008, 12:34 AM Well he can still set anything I think.
I got this trick few times so I should get it, if he sets it.

same.
bguitarist34 01-16-2008, 07:58 AM now that he is setting today, that will buy me more time to practice on the weekend.
YAY!
Royalgriffin 01-16-2008, 06:25 PM now that he is setting today, that will buy me more time to practice on the weekend.
YAY!
Hopefully he sets soon so I can go out and match.
bguitarist34 01-16-2008, 07:45 PM well if he does get lettered for not setting (he has like 15 minutes lol) then my set will be ready to put up
skatermccrank 01-16-2008, 07:48 PM ^^ Well you may as well tell us what it is becuase he won't set. He doesn't even seem to interested in this game
Pathtek4 01-16-2008, 08:11 PM I hate to say this, but DD is going to be removed from the game for not setting something...His time has passed, and he is going to be removed due to the new ''Cafe Staple Rules'' on not setting :(. Kinda sucks, don't wanna do it, but I have to stand by them rules.
BG your set bro!

I hope he sets fast :D
I can go and try it right now if he just SETS
bguitarist34 01-16-2008, 08:23 PM set will be up in like 2 seconds guys.
switch double flip to x leg.

switch double flip to x leg.
*dies
skatermccrank 01-16-2008, 08:32 PM Yea, so i am totally gonna be out of this before my set. THIS IS INSANE, I should've joined Novice
My right ankle isn't healed enough to try this trick, so I'll probably take a letter. Just in case I decided to give it a few tries, could I have an extension until I get back? I have testing tomorrow and I'm leaving from Friday-Monday.
Royalgriffin 01-16-2008, 08:57 PM This trick is surprisingly easier than I thought. I used the physics of when I learned nollie double sex changes for bg a few months ago. So far I've landed a few upside down, a really close 1 foot, and a few decent switch double sex changes on accident. I actually may be able to survive :D
*un-dies
bguitarist34 01-16-2008, 09:10 PM haha. good luck guys. well it was actually pretty easy for me. I got it on film after about only 10 minutes of tries. I guess it came naturally because I do so many switch and nollie double flips. Switch/nollie dub variations are my favorite =D
Royalgriffin 01-16-2008, 09:50 PM Here was one of the accidental switch doubles :D.
BTW- would that be accepted as roll away if I matched like that? My switch doubles have a tendency to turn slightly.

atrain 01-16-2008, 09:54 PM ^no i dont think so. im not sure how youd ride away in crossfoot at that angle anyway! lol
Royalgriffin 01-16-2008, 09:57 PM ^no i dont think so. im not sure how youd ride away in crossfoot at that angle anyway! lol
It was cause I would have kept moving. It was like one of Son1x's sets...(the weight rocking back and then forward again.)
(doublepost)
Nice match atrain. I know the feeling of that one where u were so close and then were all like falling everywhere. If I have ANY time tomorrow, I'll give and a go and hopefully land on and STAY on.
I won't even try this, I can't even switch double and I don't want to mess up my lovely switch flips by attempting to learn them :) So here goes a few days of game of SKATE vacation for me, hah, rad trick.
bguitarist34 01-17-2008, 07:29 AM sick match atrain. I would like everybody to actually roll away in x leg like both of us did because that is how i set it. :)
atrain 01-17-2008, 12:17 PM this trick was not that easy at all, but fairly rewarding at the end. i can do switch doubles pretty easily, but i found the cross-foot part to be very troubling at first. After a long time trying and not even getting very close i realized i had to stop trying to do the crossfoot the same way i do it regular and actually change how i crossed my feet (bringing the right foot over in front of the left turned out to be very hard to land in switch)
but once my body actually figured out how to do the correct crossfoot it was easy sailing from there! good trick bguitarist
Sonix 01-17-2008, 02:33 PM I got too much rain, probably won't be able to match. Not that I can't even switch double flip :P
Nice set
aronsamma 01-17-2008, 03:24 PM that's a really weird crossfoot landing... would you even count it if someone landed it the normal way?
Sonix 01-17-2008, 03:41 PM I don't think so, that would be body varial then.
In all honesty I have to say that it looked more like a weird switch double fs body varial to me, therefore in my opinion it's a different trick (in terms of physics and how it technically works) but I don't know what the others think (I hate to always be the one to point out what's wrong in every trick because I know how frustrating it is and it probably makes me come off like a prick while I'm just trying to enforce the rules as strict as they're meant to be in the first place). I was actually waiting for someone else to point it out for me because it's like the sixth time in this game I complain about the validity of a trick, but w/e.

are you talking about me? if so, i only matched because that was the way he set the trick if you look carefully. flicking foot comes to the back, pointed toward the opposite side it started, back foot crosses in front pointing the same way it started... giving a kind of forward facing landing
now if someone did a normal crossfoot and matched this way i wouldnt count it either, but it was set this way so .... i dont really see the debate

I think he meant the set. I made an ankle brace out of cardboard, tape, a thing for ankle sprains, and a bag, and went and tried this set. I could probably get it, but I don't want to screw my ankle up more. Sigh, I guess that means I have an A. This is going to be like shortest GOS ever.

I was thinking this too, but of course I'm not the x foot master. In an actual x-foot, both his feet should have pointed the same way as if he had done a switch double, except his left foot would have cross over top. It looked almost like he landed a sw double flip body varial but turned his left foot to the left right before he landed? Atrain's was done in the normal way as an x-foot....so is the set even in x-foot or is it just a sw double flip body varial?
EDIT: I actually just looked at atrain's match and I think both of them are pretty much switch double flip with a body varial and the front foot facing at an angle to the heelside edge.
I'm gonna wait for a ruling before I try this anymore.
DOUBLE EDIT: Every time I watch the videos, it looks more and more like a sw double body varial with the front foot pointed slightly at the heelside edge... Even the shoulders make a windup and turn, like they really shouldn't on a kickflip crossfoot.
bguitarist34 01-17-2008, 07:20 PM well i guess you guys aren't gonna count it so I'll film some stupid trick tomorrow that is semi hard. i gotta leave now.
Royalgriffin 01-17-2008, 07:22 PM well i guess you guys aren't gonna count it so I'll film some stupid trick tomorrow that is semi hard. i gotta leave now.
That sounded really angry. Not meaning to offend anyone here. Its just my opinion, not everyones.

Well I was originally talking about your match but I just realized that I hadn't paid attention to the set, which I just watched again and noticed the same problem about, therefore your match obviously counts since both tricks are identical :) However the name of the set should probably be changed to 'switch double flip f/s body varial' since that's basically what both of you did. Seeing how you atrain spent ages trying to get a match on film it wouldn't be fair to disallow the set and completely change the trick now, except if bguitarist34 isn't happy with setting a switch double flip body varial and if you don't mind putting yet more effort into matching a completely different trick.
skatermccrank 01-17-2008, 09:21 PM Ok, I am giving up, tried this for about 2 and a half hours and no success. It is so hard, i can land a swtich double almost every try but i dont know how to do the cross footed landing

honestly i dont think making it a switch double flip body varial is fair... whatever you call it it should be the same trick, and that does involve a crossfoot, albeit a half body varial crossfoot thing. but the front foot is still pointed the wrong way, adn whatever the trick is called that quirk should be reflected in the matches
bguitarist34 01-17-2008, 09:34 PM i just got back. you guys and atrain can decide since he already matched but if it does stay as a switch double body varial then i would like to film another one that isn't retarded with my feet halfway in crossed foot.
but as i said, if i do reset on the other hand, it will be something dumb because i don't know what else to set. It would be like a switch double 1 foot, just a pointless trick. Those are the only kind of tricks i can actually get people with.

The only difference from a sw double flip body varial(especially on yours) is that your left foot is pointed slightly towards the heelside edge. Its almost like he set a switch double flip half body varial. I think that would be it?
bguitarist34 01-17-2008, 09:38 PM ok. so should i reset or what? We now know it's not a switch dub crossfoot but is it a trick of its own or just a switch dub body varial?
i will be fine to set a different trick tomorrow or refilm a "real" switch double body varial with both feet landing regular.

I really have no idea. Atrain did match the weird little 90 degree body varial thing, but you can reset as already stated.
@ Qtip and MRCK-can u guys put those sw ff impossibles on youtube? I need to dl them.

I filmed a new one then taped over it because I'm a retard. I'll get one ASAP and send it to you on aim. And this trick could just be a switch double flip body varial to penguin foot.
Roboman 01-17-2008, 09:51 PM Just temporarily call it a switch doubleflip to duck-foot or something then match exactly what bguitarist34 did. Saves time. :)

Haha, beat you to it.
Roboman 01-17-2008, 09:54 PM Hahaha! I didn't even see that!
(p.s. Duck-foot sounds better heh)
Royalgriffin 01-17-2008, 09:59 PM Okay I guess?
bguitarist34 01-17-2008, 10:04 PM Ok then i guess it will be its own trick and matched like that.
I like the sound of switch double penguin flip. Penguins are my favorite
Speak out now because i will hate if i end up having to reset because it's not really a trick or something. I just want to know if it's all fine because i don't want to find out tomorrow that i have to film a new trick real quick.

Its like doing 90 degree body varials. They don't usually count. If everyone else wants to, we can still go by it though. Any more opinions?
bguitarist34 01-17-2008, 10:23 PM i will plan to film a new trick tomorrow afternoon just in case. Where is Pathtek when you need him to make a final decision?
well im goin to bed really soon. me is tired.

Yah, I need to know whether to try this trick or not...
Its like doing 90 degree body varials. They don't really exist. If everyone else wants to, we can still go by it though. Any more opinions?
In skateboarding everything exists.
Royalgriffin 01-17-2008, 11:16 PM In skateboarding everything exists.
haha. You know what I mean :icon_poke
EDIT: so did the set already go official? Is the match time still the set time or is bg going to set something less controversial?
aronsamma 01-17-2008, 11:43 PM I'm with roboman. Just match what he did and it should be fine. I was just wondering in case someone saw "switch double flip crossfoot" then went outside and worked on it for hours, only to see that it should have been something else.
Royalgriffin 01-17-2008, 11:45 PM Is there any possible way we could be given an extra day? I didnt try it at all today cause I didn't know what trick I was supposed to be trying. And the one I was doing yesterday WAS actually a switch double x foot...and I have monday off.
Its like doing 90 degree body varials. They don't really exist.
Haha, of course they do, I have plenty of tricks that involve them.
By the way, my switch front foot impossible : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UQWFNDG3
About the set, switch double to duck-stance it is then :) Funny thing is, I've done quite a few tricks from duck-stance (d/s ? :icon_craz ) before, but never even thought of landing a trick like that, your idea opens a new range of possibilities :icon_joy:
Roboman 01-18-2008, 06:50 AM SS BS DS TS FTW!
(switch stance backside duckstance tailslide for the win!)

Could also mean Super Staff Banned Sucker DirtySanchez To Saturn, but that wouldn't be a bad trick name either nonetheless :icon_yes:
bguitarist34 01-18-2008, 07:26 AM ok duck foot it is then. i changed the name of the trick in my post and in my video.
Royalgriffin 01-18-2008, 10:10 AM Alrighty, but do we get an extra day? I had been trying switch double flip x-foot because that's what he said he set...
I'm leaving town tomorrow instead so I filmed the switch front foot impossible re-set today.
http://media.putfile.com/swffimpossiblez
Royalgriffin 01-18-2008, 08:34 PM Can anyone tell me if we get an extra day? I think we should. BTW- qtip. I need it on youtube...
bguitarist34 01-18-2008, 09:10 PM how about 4 days after the trick was found out. I think that is completely fair.
Matches would be do like around 10 or 11 something pm on Monday Eastern time.

That seems fair to me. Then I actually have time to learn it :D
EDIT: pretty good progress today. Landed once perfectly on the tail and continue to land and just not be far enough up to stay on balance. Tomorrow is another day!
UPDATE: Aw...landed to slip. So close!
bguitarist34 01-21-2008, 07:59 PM ya you slip out a lot when trying this trick. thats the hard part.
not much matchy time left. i r afraid of varial's set.

Yes, I do believe it is time for varial's set now. Updating the movie :D
bguitarist34 01-22-2008, 08:37 AM I have a bad feeling it will be a pressure flip late fs shove.
Sonix 01-22-2008, 11:46 AM I hope not. And its pretty lame if it is, as it was set in GOS10 . Not that you can't but...

terence123trh 01-22-2008, 04:01 PM I hope not. And its pretty lame if it is, as it was set in GOS10 . Not that you can't but...
nah it was in gos 9, unless there was another one in gos10 you are talking about.
He said he couldn't film anything else, plus none of you (apart from atrain :() even were in GOS9, so I fail to see what your reason to complain could be, go skate and learn the trick instead of posting here

Heh. I was just going along with the crowd :D
Its raining here, maybe if it dries a little in a bit I'll head out and learn this. I can pressure flip pretty consistently, but I don't know about the fs shuv because I can't even featherflip :icon_redf
Sonix 01-22-2008, 04:10 PM You are right, I just pointed that out.
MRCK, did you get a new haircut?:D A
I just broke my deck few days, probably gonna get it tomorrow and try this.
edit: Wheres pathtek at? Haven't seen him around here lately and the sig isn't updated yet.
Featherflips and pressure flip late shoves are similar in some ways but not being able to featherflip might actually help you for the late shove bit, I know I learned featherflips first then when I wanted to learn pressure flip late shoves it took me a while to learn how not to flip the board over with my back foot (as I usually would for a featherflip) during the late shove bit and land on it upside down. You might want to give shove late f/s shoves a try though, if only just to get a first feel of pressure flip late shoves (which might be easier, weirdly enough).
And yeah I got a haircut :icon_clap
bguitarist34 01-22-2008, 04:31 PM wow. there is no way that i will be able to do this trick. letter for me. I will be busy for the rest of this week anyway with tryouts and school work.
Royalgriffin 01-22-2008, 05:58 PM I'm heading out to try this trick now, update in a few minutes.
bguitarist34 01-22-2008, 06:03 PM good luck to ya Royal

*cough*
Anyways, I can featherflip, and I just landed pressureflips today (yay!) so I might be able to get this trick. I'll give it some attempts tomorrow.
Royalgriffin 01-22-2008, 06:59 PM good luck to ya Royal
Haha. For a guy who cant late fs shuvit and lands pressures on the ground, here is my checklist and how much I have done.
X=done 0=almost
< X >Catch pressure flips
< 0 >Land late fs shuvits
< X >Make board do trick movement
< X >Land near board
< >Land with one foot
< >Land on board
I've got a shot at it. The movement on mine look kind of like atrain's in GOS9. Would the one he landed then count for now?
Royalgriffin 01-22-2008, 08:01 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi4NoMwn1og
First attempts. Any help or ideas?
EDIT: for some reason it won't let me edit my previous post....
bguitarist34 01-22-2008, 08:34 PM nice royal. looks like your really close. my internet kept stopping so i wasn't there on aim.
Pathtek4 01-22-2008, 09:31 PM Sig updated...
I hate to say it, but V_222's Set wasn't a pressure flip late shoveit...The board never ''pressure flips'', it does a 1/2 pressure flip.
Sig updated...

It was like a 3/4ths pressure flip then when he kicks it around for the fs shove-it he finishes the flip.

I would probably argue that it wasn't a pressure flip late shuvit, but I don't want to be ending up with some bizarre trick like with bguitarist's set.
3/4 pressure flip late 1/4 heel varial underflip anyone?
EDIT: Pathtek, I believe your sig is still off. Both bguitarist and atrain have SK from the fs lotti flip and then the forward heel.

Pathtek4 01-22-2008, 09:48 PM ^Yeah, i'm working on it...Seems to be something with these new settings that completely (for lack of a better word) screwed me up here...I'm working on fixing it all...The amount of lines in a sig changed on me, and had to work it out
Edit...There we go..
Yeah, I still don't see where that ''pressure flipped''...MRCK'S did, but, but varial's was more of a 1/2 (i'm not taking a 3/4 1/16 whatever). I'm just stating where i'm coming from (MRCK's was the set, or at least the name what the set should look like IMO)

I totally agree that his set wasnt what he said, but I really don't want it ending up as some weird trick...
EDIT: so you are saying his trick was a half? But it still flipped the whole way! Are we gonna get an extension for this cause I didn't even try this anymore today after I saw another argument/debate brewing.
atrain 01-23-2008, 01:09 AM i spent so much time learning that for gos9... but i hate pressure flips, for me theyre a waste of time so im not going to bother with this. letter for me!
Varial_222 01-23-2008, 02:18 AM It is a pressure flip late fs shove it, i got that approved by a few people including MRCK.
It does a pressure flip but the flip isn't quite complete, my front foot still hits the griptape and my back foot kicks it around.
Yeah it wasn't a half pressure flip late anything, he just happens to unleash the late shove a bit early before the flip is fully completed but it still does the motion it's supposed to do, I used to do mine like that too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmRfqyJvkvA), it's no big deal really. I think the main reason why you can't tell that it's a (somewhat) full pressure flip is the angle it was filmed from, even if he had got a full flip it would still look 'incomplete' because regardless of how well the trick can be executed from that angle you will always see the graphic side of the board show up, which always enhances the feel of 'incompletion'. It's really a pressure flip late f/s shove, not the best example of that trick but it's still one ;)
On other news I filmed my set yesterday and if I last long enough in this game to post it it's probably going to make a few of you poo bricks, it's one of the biggest tricks I've ever landed on flat and it's particularly mean :)

A nollie bestragrefenderemdenomer flip, but spins a 900 rather than a 720 perhaps?
:icon_weir
That was the most outrageous thing I could thing of you performing really... if its beyond that I vow to eat my hat. Or attempt to eat it at least.

The trick I plan on setting is a trick you recommended me to set in GOS8 I believe, to which I replied that I couldn't do it anymore, but I relearned it recently and got a somewhat clean one on film ;) Nollie 900 begrafenisondernemer flips sound like a good idea for a new trick though, even though I think I would be closer to nollie begrafenisondernemer flip to shove-its (which wouldn't count in this game since only reverts and pivots are allowed, no footwork combos).
denacem, weirdly enough I'm sure you could actually learn the trick I'm planning on setting, I think you have all its basic components down, I may be wrong though, time will tell us :)
Pathtek4 01-23-2008, 07:46 AM i don't agree, but whatever...I'm Varial's #1 fan, so it isn't me ''hating'' on him doing that trick...I just think the rotation isn't there all the way, which for ADVANCED, kinda stinks. *Shrugs*
bguitarist34 01-23-2008, 08:13 AM ya... im not gonna last much longer. haha but i am quite happy with how im doing so far in this game.
Sonix 01-23-2008, 02:57 PM I'm getting a letter here, I just got a new board and its totally different then the one I had, I even lost pressure inward heelflips (which I learned on Sunday). And I have afternoon school tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
I hope next set is something easier xD
edit: Doesn't Varial have SKA ? fs anti-big spin flip, forward heelflip and double flip crossfoot/duck whatever landing.
Royalgriffin 01-23-2008, 06:21 PM Its raining crazy hard here, so I may not be able to match....but I'll still try in the small dry spot on my patio.
Just saw Cloverfield!

in that case... i did have my set ready, and it was an interesting one but nothing beyond achievability for MRCK and others im sure, but i may opt for something harder now....

I'm still working on mine. Haven't been skating all too well lately, so my set probably won't be as good as I first planned. I need to get a match on this atrain + mrck will kill me.
skatermccrank 01-23-2008, 06:58 PM well, nice TRYING to tbein this game. Good game to me!

Once again it won't let me edit my post. I'm totally dead. Its supposed to rain for at least the rest of the week and I never filmed a backup set. If a miracle doesnt happen you guys may see the first ever slow rolling kickflip set in an advanced game of skate :(

Do the shove-it, that has been the dare.

It might be a reality if it keeps raining.

Royalgriffin 01-24-2008, 02:05 AM Set a coffin... set a coffin...
I should set kickflip to kneeling landing. haha.
aronsamma 01-24-2008, 07:36 AM set a board focus!
Roboman 01-24-2008, 08:11 AM I should set kickflip to kneeling landing. haha.
Haha, that would hurt so bad.
On a completely unrelated note, I once (and only once) successfully landed a 360flip a**-slide on a bank. 360flip, sort of stumbled on the landing because it over-rotated by 90 and powerslid down the bank sitting down on the board, looking where I was going but the board was going sideways - feet never touched the ground. :icon_peac
Which leads me to think you should try setting a kickflip to bellyflop.

I've almost done something close to that, but never actually landed without feet touch. Video? Also, it stopped raining for a little bit this morning so as soon as I got out of school(finals, its a half day) I ran out and landed an OK set. I definetely wanted to set something more original, but I just didn't have enough time. If I can stay in up to my set again hopefully the rain won't eat my patio again. This will probably look familiar to some of you guys because when I saw it done I think it was about a year ago. Doubt I'll be able to match varial's trick though.
set a board focus!
Haha yeah, set a 'freak out'.
(All joke material aside, I do have seen threads on french skating forums in which kids were asking if 'freak outs' (when you focus your board in THPS to get a few extra points) were an actual trick and would score you points in a contest :icon_clap)
I also have a friend who can do shove-its on his knees, his first attempts looked terribly painful.

Thats hilarious! I'd love to know what was going through his head when he decided to learn them.

To be honest I don't really know what went through his mind either but you can always message him to ask (http://www.youtube.com/user/drunkskater27) ;) It was the week-end during which all the members of my forum and I got together and filmed this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIICREMQcUk), we didn't get that particular trick on film though :( He also did two 1 1/4 flip to railstands onto another board to 'taxi ride' that night, and on his first attempt at the 'knee shove-it' he forgot to pop the tail and ended up doing a body varial off the board and landing straight on his knees on the concrete, it was just as awesome as you can picture it.
I also had a blast throwing banana peels into everyone's wheels to make them shoot out (like a real life Mario Kart) but that's yet another story.

I've done some real life Mario Kart in golf carts. A friend of mine (jcvilalta) fell off one once and got pretty messed up too.
Royalgriffin 01-25-2008, 03:23 PM Just reminding you Pathtek, varial has SKA...
My patio is flooded but I still might actually get to TRY this trick again. Can't wait to show you guys my set (Qtip aside, he already knows it but don't ask him)

Don't forget to catch the pressure flip with your front foot on the grip tape before you kick the rail with your back foot for the late shove-it, also it helped me a lot to focus on getting height on the pressure flip and delay the late shove-it bit as much as possible, could work for you as well.

Ahh...okay. Makes sense. I'll probably get another hour or so today on my patio, so I may get it. Ive been landing about 90 degrees right on the tail...and I just got back from a dentist appointment. The sky is actually a little blue right now before storm 3 moves in tomorrow. Last one hopefully.

Update! (but still unable to edit previous post)
Thanks MRCK, I'm getting sooooooooo close. I landed it perfectly except my foot caught at a slight angle in the air so it kep spinning and I landed in primo....I have one more hour of skating time before I have to stop tonight. I'll give it my last go and if I don't land it I'll upload my closest attempt.

Its already up on youtube, its just hidden...lol. I want to show you guys so bad but I don't want you trying it beforehand. In a few minutes my new video-"they call him mr. close" will be up on youtube with the closest pressure flip late shuvs you have ever seen in your life haha. The last one COULD count with the roll away, but it still has some toe....I garuntee you guys that if it hadn't rained I would have definetely had this trick DOWN by now. I'll edit this post in a couple minutes hopefully when its uploaded.

EDIT: The last one could count??? I started to roll away on the weight shift..
Varial_222 01-26-2008, 01:43 AM ^^ Nah none of them count, on the last one you started to roll backwards.
bguitarist34 01-26-2008, 07:23 AM wow. that's really close royalgriffin but i don't think any could count. you would still have a little time this morning to try. Can't wait for your set.
Royalgriffin 01-26-2008, 02:58 PM Nope had to go to jujitsu. My set is due in 5 minutes, but I'll put it up now.
Impossible to One foot

isPU7YVVx_k
A note on the landing. To know that you have rolled away on one of these, please have at least 2-3 weight shifts. As you can see on Roboman's below, when you land there is a little shift of weight. Its easy to get one little shift in and then set your foot down. To actually roll away on one foot you need to stay on a bit longer (which is the hard part)

I think I'll be able to get this without a problem tomorrow, my impossibles are much more consistent than they were in GOS8, and it should be a really fun trick to try, I can't wait :)
By the way Roboman's video is probably the best thing that ever happened to YouTube.

Sonix 01-26-2008, 03:38 PM Yay! I might set again!! I got this few times before. Even filmed one for POGOS :D but forgot the hand sign that time.
Fun but at the same time annoying trick.
edit: whats with 7evenups post in tricks thread?
bguitarist34 01-26-2008, 03:55 PM uh oh. i think im screwed with this set. Today was my first time skating in like 10 days too haha, and im gonna be ultra busy since i made the baseball team. We practice 6 days a week. I will give the trick a go right now though.
Royalgriffin 01-26-2008, 04:00 PM The fact that people see this as no problem only shows me how much these games have progressed in the last year. My original set was going to be impossible late bs shuvit, but the rain came and I couldn't film it. I'm dead before my next set anyway though...
maybe on the next one we should actually play SKATEBOARD (next game). If this keeps up it'll be the first 3 week game ever lol.
Sonix 01-26-2008, 04:04 PM Pretty funny scores, full of SKA , one SK and SKAT ^^
I'm gonna do this all day tomorrow and days after tomorrow just so I can set again xD Learned something really fun today. (its not hard, and I didn't put it in "I landed my first ____ today")
atrain 01-26-2008, 04:19 PM nice set, it looked perfect. i should match whenever i skate next... i need to get a board today, snapped mine a few days ago

well, it wont exactly be like that. my set will have at least a few matches im expecting. I decided not to go for instantly lettering everyone and instead to do a trick that should be new to everybody and challenging, but attainable
bguitarist34 01-26-2008, 04:21 PM dont worry. there is no way i will match this. I am satisfied with how I've done in the game though. Worst case is I get 7th place out of 10. Not too bad.
Sonix 01-26-2008, 04:22 PM "I decided not to go for instantly lettering everyone..."

Probably some bizarre late flip varation.
I also need an answer pretty soon. If someone never gets to set and doesn't match anything, should they be taken out of the video?
atrain 01-26-2008, 11:29 PM ^:icon_chil on the video just a lil bit haha. it doesnt have to be done the second the game ends. probably leave them in, since they played. but for right now it isnt a big deal haha

It just gives me something to do after skating hours. I'm all caught up right now, and I'm leaving everyone in except for dd...cause he got kicked out for not setting and semmingly not even caring. I'm using the mortal combat song....cause of the sets haha.
Varial_222 01-27-2008, 09:35 AM I'm about to post my match up now.
bguitarist34 01-27-2008, 09:41 AM very nice match varial
Sonix 01-27-2008, 10:52 AM My match is up. I've had some trouble with my frontfoot that kept coming back ^^ But managed one without the frontfoot touch.
My "land" sort of reminds me of Roboman's and Supersonix6's haha :D
bguitarist34 01-27-2008, 11:05 AM crap, you guys are way too good. awesome match sonix.
Sonix 01-27-2008, 11:11 AM Come on, atleast give it a few tries. If you know how to impossible you almost already have the trick. You just have to try a little bit.
It's not as hard as it looks and sounds. Actualy landing this trick is really easy, the only hard part is roll.
bguitarist34 01-27-2008, 11:12 AM I did try it. I'm terrible at impossibles. The board just flips halfway everytime.
Sonix 01-27-2008, 11:14 AM Do them my style. Totally horizontal. Impossibles are about wraps, not about degrees they spin around. Its like doing a 360 pop shuv it while guiding it a little bit.

Royalgriffin 01-27-2008, 12:06 PM Nice matches guys. Son1x was yanking his front foot with all his might not to touch haha. If I get to set again prepare for something harder ! :D Unless it rains again...
bguitarist34 01-27-2008, 12:29 PM time for me to go try this again...
I will tell yall how i did when i get back.
Sonix 01-27-2008, 12:32 PM I put magnets on the board and in my shoes so I wouldn't land with my frontfoot on.
Quiet a fun trick this is. Annoying landing thought. I'm happy as I'm 100% going to set now, yay!
bguitarist34 01-27-2008, 01:09 PM I did land some regular impossibles but i still don't have them down. It's gonna be a close one. If i can get good wrap than maybe i can match this.

Just gotta lookout for the weight shifts. Its a horrible feeling to land it with one foot and lose it on the first weight shift.
I matched and hated it :)
Royalgriffin 01-27-2008, 06:17 PM I matched and hated it :)
Haha. I did one like your first one too :D

Thank God. I was starting to worry......
X Foot would have been much easier.
I agree, I actually struggled for this one more than I thought I would, not that it was particularly hard but it definitely was frustrating to land only on the back foot and finding a balance. I'm glad I have my impossibles on lock, otherwise matching this would have been totally out of question. Impossible to crossfoots are so much easier.
I wouldn't call that other trick an impossible late shove-it by the way, I think that for a late shove-it you need to catch the board at the peak of the trick with both feet then scissor kick on the way down, it was more like a 3/2 impossible (halfway through a single and a double).
And the Youpyoups say 'trop cool !' with those funny voices all the time :)
Varial_222 01-28-2008, 04:47 AM ^^ Next time i land an awesome trick i'm going to walk up to the camera and say "trop cool!" In a super high pitched voice XD
