Hey guys, and welcome to Beginners Freestyle Game of Skate! I'll go over a quick run-down of the process of how this is going to work.

All tricks that are going to count need to be added in the trick thread- if you have a question if a trick is valid, simply tell me by a personal message or post it on the discussion thread!

You cannot pull the "I forgot the hand signal" cr*p. I'm assuming you guys are all honest, but its just a precaution that'll make the game flow much smoother. You need to show the hand signal at the time of the trick. (Unless you make it obvious at the time of the trick that "Preston951 is hosting BFGOS, and i forgot the hand signal"

You need to be committed to this game!

The tricks thread is for tricks only!

The way matches work are whoever is setting has EXACTLY THREE DAYS to set a new trick! Tricks may not be more than three combos, for example, you can't do a railstand to railstand flip to casper to railstand to varial flip to railstand railflip out (not that that would be set in this beginner game ) The trick has to be posted in the trick thread by three days or you will miss your set (oh no!).

Every remaining player will have EXACTLY THREE DAYS to match the trick. if you are unable to, you will receive a letter. You DO NOT have to post your matches in the order you are put in!

Once you receive the letters S-K-A-T-E, you will be eliminated from the game. That means no more posting in the trick thread for this game. (You can however talk to the remaining players in the discussion thread)

The first time through the list, only BEGINNER level tricks will be posted, nothing crazy!

The second time through the list, slightly more advanced tricks will be allowed.

The third time around, slightly more than before tricks will be allowed, but nothing to outrageous.

The fourth time and up, more technical tricks are allowed. However, until something like the final four, there still will be a limit on the difficulty of tricks!

Elkwyn is currently injured, so no letters received will be permanent until he is skating again. He will have a set number of days to post the tricks he missed however from the day he lets us know he can skate again.

Matches are due exactly 72 hours after the exact time the first trick was set!
If you are unable to do the trick and simply don't want to stress on it, tell me! The quicker this goes, the more fun it'll be!

Elkwyn, i saw your match and i mean i'll let it count but from now on you gotta get into primo or railstand without just stepping into it.

Elkwyn, for future tricks, you need to get into rail stalls, etc, from regular board position. you have to go from regular to primo, etc.

because this wasnt said before, Elkwyns match is OK.

Yeah keep it to 3 days. Otherwise one trick can take up to a week to get through. Also if anyone is confused about the time zone, just go into the trick thread, look at the time the set was posted (this will be in your time zone) and just add on 3 days to that. That way, you don't have to worry about time zones.

I unfortunately just a few minutes ago had to come in from outside while i was trying to film guitarkid7's amazing set.

after what seemed hundreds of tries, i get into HS railstand, i take a second and do a FS body varial, then wait another second and land a perfect shove it out. Then I have to come inside. I look at my still recording camera and notice it says "TAPE END".

S H I T.

I figured it had just ended though.

But i was wrong. I guess Ill just have to film it again later. :(

Yeah, I totally forgot about taking out the first part of the link. I fixed it but it didn't work so I just posted a link.


It only took me 20 minutes of practising to get the body varial down, then landed a shove out a bunch of times. But realized I wasn't good at TS (I am now.. :S) so I did a HS, put it all together., Its pretty easy.

And today I landed a few, HS FS shove outs, or something, so look out for that :D .

Nice matches guys, it took me a while to get the pull rotation on the shove, and I was getting mad so I just took that one, which kind of sucks.

I'm pretty pumped for this game because its going to show me all kinds of tricks for freestyle!

i forgot the hand signal for the last trick. you can clearly see its in the same place, and same time. so i wouldn't think it would matter.

so the thing that sucks is that it rained today so i wasn't able to rematch, and i'm going to be really pissed if i can't get a rematch vid in cuz you guys can all see i can do it.

That sucks. When you do the body varial, bend your knees, and land with your knees bent, so your board won't fall over as easy. Its easy to keep balance like that too. The shove is kind of hard sometimes to get right.

my tip that i gave preston for the shove is to not move your foot towards the tail. just about an inch from the trucks is where you should pop and scoop

I dunno what time zone you're running in, so I don't know when 9 oclock tonight is but my set isn't due for another 14 hours. That's at 8.30 in the morning for me, so i'll probably post it like 2 hours after or if I forget (I'm going out skating tomorrow with friends) in the afternoon sometime.

well that one kid couldnt' even primo flip.

i dont' think its going to get easier than that.

ican primo flip just not toeside.and i have a few good freestyle tricks that im gunna pull out.

Just practise getting into toeside. Once you get that down, just put the board into rail and do the flip, then put it together when both are good.

Tighter trucks = easier to get in rail.

Ok so first you PM me telling me to hurry up and set, even though I've just reached my setting time mere hours ago, now you're posting up my set for me. Jesus, lay off dude. It's ok, just don't do it again. I was very tempted to go out and do a whole new set and not post it for another day. Anyway if you're having trouble with the casper, move your back foot a little more on the tail than on the wheel, take your front foot off so the board tilts up a bit, then slide your front foot under the grip tape and push your back foot onto the tail. It can be hard to get your casper high enough from HS rail, that's why i flipped mine back almost straight away.

Firefox froze when my files were converting so I had to restart my computer ot get firefox again so I didn't get the video together yet. I got a nosegrind and 50-50 on my box, and some gay boardslide. I tried to get more but didn't.

And about the caspers, can I (or anyone else on this GOS) let the backfoot toes touch a little bit on the ground? Or do I have to have all my foot clearly not touching on the tail?

I've got no problem with you're back toes being on the ground. For people with big feet like me it's hard to keep heels and toes off the ground when you're feet are a lot bigger than the board. I think my toes touched a little bit aswell on my set. Anyway it's not up to me, it's up to preston.

yeah, i already talked to guitarkid about it. its ok if it doesn't really affect the trick. you know, like you can't be standing there in casper with half ur foot off the board. so a little toe/heel touch is ok on the back foot as long as it is mostly on the board.

and by the way, i think we should all know each others names, you know? idk, just a thought...

try to make sure that your shoulders stay parallel to your knees. In other words dont bend over but kind of squat. it'll keep you centered over the board

dont flick back to quick,but you need to flick forward really quick

you apply pressure on the back pocket of your board, enough to make the board spin and rotate inward,resembling the motion of a hardflip. looks fun!! :D

There is not requirement to an amount of jumps for this trick. Hippy, there is a chance your set will not count, you clearly touched your back foot getting into pogo and landed in tail stall.

Pathtek (Mike) will let me know if your set is valid.

i planed it, it just took awhile to land into HS, but as soon as i landed in HS, the verial out was easy.

Yeah. It's probably easier to land the varial on pavement but easier to walk with it and get balance on concrete :/.
