Other than skate rags, I like corny fantasy novels like Dungeons & Dragons type stuff. (Dragonlance, Warhammer)

I don't know why, it's just all I like to read for recreation.

Brave New World

Did you like it? I want to buy it in the future.

Yes I like reading, if it's a story I can picture the characters and the space the way I want to. If it's philosophy or something I learn.

And to those who said they don't like reading..aren't you reading when you log in to SC? Don't you like to read about skateboarding?

Um...harry potter , or brave new world?

Harry Potter is okay-ish for me. Hell, its a great book, just don't know what the fuss is all about.

Brave New World - that you have to read. Interesting ideas of what our world is becoming into. Mind you, its hard to understand AT FIRST. later on, it gets simpler when you know what soma is, who is who, and the process of (MRCK help me out) "shaking eggs to make identical babies", forgot the process name.

Same here. I can read as fast as I want, but I like to go slowly and take all of the information in. It results in me taking a really long time to finish a book.

To answer the question, yes I like to read. If it's for school, it may be boring, but I know that I'll be learning something, which is great. When I read for pleasure I like many kinds of fiction and books on philosophy. Reading is great.

Yeah I was talking about Brave New World. I bought "The World Without Us", by Alan Weisman, but I don't have the time to read it for now. It should be interesting as well, since it's a recent book.

BROFLOSKY PROCESS! THAT WAS IT!

I was pondering for hours what the process was called. Broflosky process, or something like that. Scared the hell outta me, got nightmares about it for 3 nights.

I still suggest reading it for anyone over 13+

01-25-2008, 10:15 PM
I only like reading if I am interested in the book. If it is a book I am being forced to read for school, or if there is a deadline reading it, then I usually don't like reading. I like being able to have the time to read the book at a pace I like, and not having to worry about writing essays about it. I just like being able to read books I like on my own time so I can think about what I read.

Some books I really liked were The Stranger by Albert Camus (there is a lot of deeper meaning to it) and 1984. I want to read Brave New World, but it is checked out of the school library, so I am going to have to wait :(

I like to read.. but usually just news and informational things (like message boards, websites, magazines). I will read a regular book every now and then, but not often and it really has to be interesting. Past 2 books I've tried reading, I bookmarked a page in the middle of the book.. layed it down.. and never picked it up again and pretty much forgot about them. I love reading mags and websites and stuff though.

I don't really like to read anymore. The last book i read was last summer and that's only becasue I was bored as he**. (before i started skating).

A few years ago I did like to read but only one series or whatever you want to call it.
Anyone ever hear of the Alex Rider adventures or something like that. I think they were called .. Stormbreaker, Point Blank, Eagle Strike, something along those lines... there are like a total of 5 or 6 i think. Those are the only books i could ever get into.

Yes, I enjoy reading. It's a large part of my life. There have been days when I've sat and done nothing but read (with the exception of eating, drinking, etc.) a book for an entire day. I prefer non-fictional books, although I do like some fictional ones whenever they're philosophically-oriented.

For people who don't like reading, try picking up a book on something that interests you.

This is why I hate our education system, they urge you to read but only about things that are utterly stupid and pointless. Shakespeare is a great writer but why read old-age English? What's the point?

Pick up a book on something you like and you'll be surprised...
