Yet it clings to the tip of his toes, it doesn't wrap around his heel as it's supposed to do, therefore even though if it flips a little it's not really a hospital heelflip either (more like a weird f/s shove / late shove hybrid, or a 'weak' 1/2 front foot impossible).

Try thinking of it as a varial heel maybe, but keep your foot in the way to cancel the flip at the very last minute ?

7evenUp, I'm not so sure your match should count, you basically did a halfcab flip, stopped then reverted, you need to get more rotation (do a pivot if you can't get the full thing in the air) and most of all you need to roll away, from my experience it's an easy trick to spin, all the difficulty consists in rolling away without having to ticktack.

I will never be able to match that.

1.I can't do a cab flip.
2.I have no room to do a cab flip.

I definitley didn't fully rotate it, but it got farther than you did. You basically did a slightly over-rotated halfcab flip, landed on all four wheels, then reverted. Mine is borderline-not counting, but yours definitley misses that line. Also, your toe touched. I watched your match about 10 times because i figured maybe you did that width-of-a-hair kind of landing you usually do, but i paused it when you landed and your toes are clearly touching.

Yeah, Phillip, you really do need to work on landings a lot man. Not just on that trick- a lot of yours are super sketch.

Keep in mind that this is a novice game of SKATE, f/s 360 heelflips would be more like Advanced GOS material.

I was not trying to make you look stupid in any way. I have nothing against you and don't understand what you would have against me. I simply went through the videos, grabbed out and popping and landing frames and stuck them in photoshop. When I watched it I didn't notice the toe touch but I did see that his foot position at the EXACT point that he was landing made it difficult to see the rotation of where the board was. He didn't change the angle of his board after he put his feet up so I figured that was the best frame to illustrate his rotation. When I first watched it it looked to me like his toe was just hanging over the side.

You know what, I'm just staying out of these from now on. S_K next time you set you sure as (insert something really eloquent here) better land it clean enough that matches have a little room. Unless they did it better than you, it wouldn't have counted :icon_clap

You definitley have to re-film that. Some of the other tricks in there were clean though, haha. You REALLY need to work on landing your tricks not-toe touching, almost all of them seems like they do.

OH, and guess who STILL can't match? I got my board set up, went outside, did a few warm up tricks, BAM! rain!

Yeah sorry about that, I was in a rush yesterday when I edited my sig and sometimes it's a bit tricky to get everything right at once.

For this set since 7evenUp is unable to skate until sunday, I won't grant him an extension, but I'll count his nollie b/s shove late flip for the time being (meaning that the matching time is already running) and let him refilm a clean one as soon as he can, much like what we did in Advanced GOS for Qtip's switch front foot impossible.

When someone sets a shove-it underflip in a game of SKATE, do you match with a varial flip ? I doubt it.

Practice, be sure to jump back (towards the tail) and keep your hips straight, practice some more, keep your shoulders parallel to the board, practice again.

I'll leave you until the end of the day to get a clean one on film, or the set will be changed to the pressure hardflip and matching time will start over again.

prssure hards aren't very hard (no pun intended) if you know front shoves and maybe pressure inwards, just try them.

Set up as you would for a f/s shove and focus on scraping the heel-side of the tail against the ground, should make them dead easy.

Lift your front foot straight up instead of kicking out so it doesn't get in the way. Anyone willing to gather more info on how to do this trick should check out the old GOS8 Discussion thread, I went into a lot of detailed descriptions and troubleshooting in order to explain people how to do plasma spins and both tricks rely on the same technique.

I was trying some earlier, I simply cannot grasp the concept. It either does a normal FS shuvit, or a varial heel. I did exactly what MRCK said to do, too.

Well, just give me another letter, no matter how i set my feet, how i kick, how I do ANYTHING, the board does nothing except a frontside shuvit.

And to add on to it, the kickass trick i was GOING to set, I lost when I switched over to the board i'm skating now.

What I don't get is how you manage to do them that flat, you basically pop a fakie ollie then somehow manage to kick the graphic side of your board with your non-popping foot even though you don't let your board enough time to get inverted, and your trick ends up looking like a weird fakie ollie instead of what it's supposed to be :icon_weir It might be partly because of the angle too, ah well.
