Some of them are also scripted. I forgot which ones though, I think I read it somewhere. So it's not really REALITY tv.

I like The Amazing Race though, and how couples can fight over this. I laugh so much on that.

There was one that I liked. Wife Swap. I just found it amusing how they placed complete opposites together, especially a group of hippies who were vegan, hated Bush and were a fusion of Atheist and Buddhist. And they swapped with a Strict, Bush Loving, Hardcore Christian family.

Still completely rubbish, but interesting. To be honest, I couldn't care less about reality TV.

And shows such as 'The Biggest Loser' are not cool. They are sick, disgusting and immoral. People go through surgery to remove the excess skin which wouldn't be there if they went on a reasonable, stable diet with excercise. Not a 'Let's do it as quickly as possible' course.

Swordman is right a lot of that crap if you read the credits at the end it will say writters or script writters. Good reality shows are:

The First 48
Cops
World's Wildest
Most Shocking
Country Fried Videos

Things of that sort sure its not 100% reality (other then the crimes and videos) what the host says is written out, but thats not the reason to watch most of the shows.

Very scripted and rehearsed. Honestly, those people just yell at each other about "respect" and crap. Anyone that eats that **** up is retarded.

you'll never be able to be on there, more than 100 people have heard of you.

big brother isn't scripted but that doesn't make it interesting.

I don't really like it. It's too dramatic and it's annoying. Scripted TV Shows can be a lot more imaginitive and a lot less boring because theres something that is garunteed to happen, no crying teenage girls or crying shecklers.

I do like some shows about real things though. Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, Cops, and so on.

Do they have that show in the UK? They had one season of it in america I think about 5 or 6 years ago. They were all washed up celebrities like Bruce Jenner and Tyson something, and Joan Rivers. But since the celebs were so dumb, so was the show.

I don't really watch reality TV that much. Here in the USA, Big Brother just started season #9, but it is a mini season until July when the regular show starts, so I watch that a bit. It is so funny to watch how stupid people are and when they get backstabbed after spilling their guts to someone else. This season they paired up people based on "personality testing" and this 40 something woman is paired up with this FREAK...

He is such a weirdo and he stares bug eyed at people when they are talking to him. uggg (*shudders*)

I feel bad for the woman who has to share a sleeping bag with him.

Pretty much the only reality show I watch is the amazing race..I don't get people who would watch ones like "the hills" because they're obviousely scripted and planned (you can tell by the fact that everybody knows the perfect thing to say, and the camera angles are pefect and everything) people who watch shows like that should go out and live their own lives instead of watching someone elses..

There are no REAL reality shows.

Its all scripted.

The day we start actually SEEING the cameras in the picture is the day that they are real.

Otherwise they just "reenact" what happened, to get multiple angles.

and thats not reality.

actually i change my mind, all those shows on spike are considered reality televison (worlds worst explosions, shocking behavior caught on tape, worlds worst crashes) so actually i kinda like reality television, but as for those fox shows, there still a bust

Some shows are actually real-ly intense...like i use to watch intervention quite a bit, also Cops, The Gong Show which is from waaaay back

Other **** like on MTV with the exception of MADE or True Life are really really biased with pre determined situations and what not...like even with Run's House i dig the show but its referred to as a reality sitcom meaing there will be topics and themes that type of thing...the basis of the show is planned not necesarilly the outcome though.

We've sat through every season of Survivor, which has migrated more to a tradition rather than enjoying the actual show itself.

One really good one was called The Mole (not the celebrity version) which had contestants doing Amazing Race-stuff with a pre-planted inside person secretly blowing it for the team. The funny part about the show was there were people on there that had zero chance of being the Mole because they were just too stupid to pull it off. The 2nd (and final) season had one poor bastud have to stay in a room while "Tiny Bubbles" played on a continual loop.

As much as I like Survivorman, Les Stroud's monolog puts me to sleep. The man knows his stuff, I'll give him that.

Intervention is a personal favorite for obvious reasons. The downside is that it's becoming so popular that the addicts are catching on prior to the big surprise.

Remember Unan1mous? One of the contestants was a local craft fair last autumn and he said the whole thing took place on a sound stage (we were let to believe it was underground in a secret desert location).
