Love him or hate him, Ryan Sheckler has donated his 2003 Range Rover to Children’s Cancer Research Fund to encourage and motivate people to raise money for the charity. From January 8th through April 10th, 2008 participants will have the chance to enter to win Ryan’s Ranger Rover by raising the most funds for this cause.
Top fundraisers are on the page, to see where people currently stand.

From the website:
"Join us by raising funds and YOU will have the chance to win my Range Rover"
-Ryan Sheckler

Cancer has affected our family and so many of our loved ones. We want to help make a difference and raise funds to find a cure.

I have donated my 2003 Range Rover to Children’s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) to encourage and motivate people to raise money for CCRF. From January 8th through April 10th, 2008 participants will have the chance to enter to win Ryan’s Ranger Rover by raising the most funds for this cause.

I will be presenting the Range Rover to the participant who raises the most money for CCRF at their annual 5k RUN/WALK on April 27th, 2008. The winner will also receive two round trip tickets to Los Angeles, accommodations and transportation to the event.

Prizes will also be awarded to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place contestants.

Fundraising efforts can be made by creating a fundraising page which you can then email to friends or family. For those individuals with out regular access to a computer you can also download and print a form which can be mailed in. Deadline for all fundraising must be postmarked by April 10th, 2008.

Established in 1987, CCRF is dedicated to providing national support for clinical research in pediatric cancer, while improving the medical environment for all children. A healthier and happier tomorrow is the mission and promise of Children's Cancer Research Fund to children and their parents everywhere.

I know some people have some animosity towards Ryan Sheckler, but I think we can all agree, it's a great jesture on his part.

Wow thanks for the find Pathtek! You're always on the news.

As for this, I think this is really generous of him. I know we all call him crybaby and whatnot, but this is just...generous

I never thought he had it in him.

I respect him anyways. He's a great skater, really, the only people who hate on him are the ones who are jealous because they can't skate like him or don't have money.

Loosen up guys, he's a good kid down inside.:\

Don't wanna turn this into a hate debate. Just saying, I used to like the kid, til I found out about him crying about losing a girlfriend on TV.

I am jealous though =/

Now I think he's a good kid also, unless I find out this is just a PR move.

I agree on the fact the he is a FANTASTIC skater with a lot of balls who was doing stuff huge for his age.

He's also a arrogant prick and I wouldn't respect him no matter how good he is. Why should his skating have anything to do with respect? If someones a **** then skating has nothing to do with it.

Arrogant prick or not he just donated a car to charity dude how does that make him an ***?. He is who he is some people like him some people don't. He's just living his life how does that make him a bad person? Seriously you guys are always insulting him doesn't that make you stoop down to his level?

I guess you're not old enough to like girls yet, because if you SERIOUSLY like someone, when you lose them you cry about it, manly or not, it's true.

Pooldog,

How do you know he's an arrogant prick? Have you met him in real life? Have you hung out with him to KNOW he's a prick? Maybe you want to think that because... well... You want to think that.

I respect him because of his skating, because he's so damn good for his age. So I have to give him props.

I'm sure Ryan is a cool kid if you hung out with him. My friend who moved from Cali has his number, he doesn't seem to arrogant to me.

Okay, not trying to sound utterly rude or anything, but why would you suddenly just not like the kid because he cried about losing a girlfriend? WTF. Yeah, like YOU wouldn't cry about losing a girlfriend at one point.. unless you're a heartless bastard. There's this lame trend going around everywhere, where people are like "oh my god I hate Sheckler because he's a drama queen that cries about girls" it's dumb. That's a lame reason.

PS. His car donation makes me happy to know he cares and agrees to the donation of his personal belonging.

Hahaha I still like all of you, respect your opinions and stuff.

Make no mistake, Sheckler is kind, very kind indeed, from what I saw here. He's an awesome skater, I love his style. I just don't want him to whine about it. He's been whining about his girlfriend for what, 3 months now? Time to move on...

That's a noble thing for him to do. I could only wish to be rich enough to have a decked out Range Rover to donate. I only hope that they raise more in donations from people trying to win it then they could by just selling it!

Also, I am surprised no one has mentioned or assumed, the "S" on the grill stands for Strut, a company that makes grills and bumpers and such for luxury vehicles, NOT "S" for Sheckler.

I think a lot of people get public image mixed up with their intentions. George Bush, horrible president, but im sure he's a really nice guy. Same with sheckler, I'm sure if you just sat down and talked to him for a bit you'd start liking him.

and more than anything else on this forum I see people picking on teachers. Really, their nice people, they may be bad at teaching or they may not. But why would they spend 4 years in college just so they can pick on some kids? I haven't met a teacher ever that isn't a nice person. Just show some respect to them.

I think this was a PR move, but I still think that he's a nice guy

EVERYONE cries over a girl, I have, except when I do it, I cry butters.

people think mike V is a realy nice guy because he is to his fans and most probably friends

I disagree. My 9th grade english teacher was an absolute ***** in AND out of the classroom. I've talked to her outside of school, and she is just an all around unpleasant person. She is a lot worse inside school though. No exaggeration or anything, she TRIES to fail people, and she tries to get kids in as much trouble as possible. Examples of what she did to me like this are when i did one question wrong on a worksheet, so she just gave me a 0 for the entire paper and wouldn't let me fix it. She did that a few times, to everyone. And one time she sent me to the office because i was literally 2 seconds late from lunch. I was about 3 steps from the door and she came out screaming at me, and sent me to the office.

There is a math teacher at my school that is also like that, but thank God i never had her.

^So what?

Ryan likes to win. He sets very high standards for himself, and when he doesn't reach those, he gets upset. Most people will think he overreacted about it, but winning that contest was obviously REALLY important to him, and he didn't get it.

Who cares if it was just a PR move or not? It was still a classy move on his part and I have some respect for him. Not alot of kids have to deal with the pressure he has on him. Maybe you think it would be easy to do that, well I have news for you it's not. And yeah how many other skaters do you see donating to charity? At least he's doing something to get rid of the ******* skater image.

heh.....noob question....but does PR stand for public relations? if so i agree, ryan i think is probably trying to improve his image by donating to one the biggest and most tear-jerking charities. now, underneath that he is probably also becoming less of a jerk as well, cuz it probably took some sense of good will to just donate his car. so i think he is trying to show he is a better person, by doing it in one of the most cliche and obvious ways.

Good job Ryan, cancer even kills people who don't like him.

There are those that have and those that don't

The ones that don't are jealous of those who have.

But when they have they don't give a Sh#t

He's a great Skater with sick skill so why not make money out of it.

Anyone who say they would not is full of sh#t or Mum pays for everything.

Ryan Rocks and now helps out Cancer which knows no class.

See ya

Got to agree with you for the first part. But I don't think he's a good kid inside, he's spoiled, and disrespectful just to begin with.
