For all those that say I never have news outside the USA, well here ya go :)

Paris, France new skatepark is going to be completed in Febuary this year. The picture i've seen of it, are spectacular. The all concrete skatepark called ''Paris 18'' is looking solid (no pun intended), and I hope some of the guys on the site from France, can get over there, and give us the scoop on what its like. It definitely looks like a park built to rip! Everything looks super smooth, and the layout is perfect! From stairs to bowls and hips, it's a site to see!
Check out the picture's here:

It looks like a fun little park.

Does anyone have any idea how much a park like that costs to build? Just an estimate...I would love to know.

I'm sure in the double digital thousands!

I'm hoping MRCK see's this, cause I believe he lives in France and I hope he's semi-close enough to go. I really wanna see live footage of this park!

I would expect a park of this magnitude to cost much more, in the million dollar range. I mean, the land and roof by themselves would cost way more than $100k.

well i just informed myself a little, there's a new skatepark in switzerland soon, it will look about like this:
http://www.skatepark-glarnerland.ch/images/stories/obstacles/uebersicht.jpg
and it costs over $400k.
so i guess the one we're talking about here will be over a million :)

Well I live about two hours away but I will most certainly go there with some friends after it's opened to the public, it may be in a little while but I'll be sure to keep you updated on this :) I'll be sure to contribute with all the early footage I will stumble upon on the Internet as well.

Wow...

Heh, they should add a deathbox in that pool corner for realism.

(Shame on you if you don't know what that is...)

Brilliant! I'd really like that! I'm sure some of the most intense skating is going to come out from that park.

The reason why I stated UNDER 100k, was because I assumed the building was there, and they built within it. I'm no ''expert'' though on these things, lol

All I have in my town is a little 20 square foot park worth less than $5,000.

That park looks sick though.

Update on the situation :

so the park opened to the public last saturday, no inauguration or anything, it was sort of rushed for local political reasons... and it temporarily closed down in the evening. The spot itself is rad, but even though a lot of security guards had been hired to filter who enters the building in order to prevent troublemakers from getting in, they didn't do their jobs properly (I'll even go as far as saying that they never did anything it looks like), therefore not only the park turned into a giant nursery and got crowded up with kids on scooters and tricycles with no helmets, making the whole afternoon really prone to accidents, but also and more importantly the evening got way worse, a crew of troublemakers got in despite the security guards and the staff, and seriously mugged a some of the skaters and robbed some of the kids who were there (seriously as in, going at 10 vs 1 against a skater, throwing him into the bowl, kicking him in the face numerous times and beating him up with his board in front of the security guards who didn't even react and let them go as easily as they came in, and that's when you thank the helmet rule, even though it wasn't strictly enforced on that day for some reason). Serious injuries have been reported, it's a huge shame really, in a city as big as Paris, if they had hired skilled guards and hadn't rushed the opening for political reasons all this wouldn't have happened, this is seriously disgusting. I'll keep you updated on the matter.
