Certainly hope so. This games been so fun and hectic it needs to keep moving. The first day after the tricks thread went up was just unbelievable. It seems a shame to quieten it down but we need to If I'm gonna survive a normal school week.

Make sure you have lots of light. Get a better angle, close to the board, down low. It makes life much easier if you get a mate or relative to film. No playing/pausing and no stands.

They're from the 7th Street Surf/Skate shop in Virginia Beach. I used to live up there, so that's where I get most of my stuff.

They were $20 a piece. Not bad at all ^^
The minilogo I've been skating throughout this GoS was $42 after tax, got it from the same place when I was visiting my mom last week. I wanted to buy all of those when I was there, but they didn't have any, so I just paid for it and they said they'd ship it to me here (in MD)

Its going behind your legs because your not just flicking it to start the flip your kicking back a bit, im having that issue as well sometimes, and for it to stop spinng, land on it...best way is griptape up :P

Nice man, stairs are slow work really, start with a curb..then a small 2..then go to a 3...skate the 3 for a while it really steps up on 4 stairs even though it seems small, my max is an eight set

This game is for the beginners that have not established their kickflips consistantly, shove-its, etc...No tricks are to be set that are difficult in any right, its more or less a session of guys learning the rules, and helping to push each other to get better.
It may very well come to a point in this game, that all set tricks have been gone thru, run out of ''easier'' tricks. At this point the game can move onto a ''harder'' difficulty, like the Beginner Game of SKATE, or can be ended early.

8. Tricks that can be set in the first round are:
Ollies
180's
Shove-its
Body Varials
Boneless tricks of a fair degree of difficulty and simple No-Comply
...and simple variations thereof.
9. Tricks that may not be set:
Varial Flips
360Flips
Varial Heels
Double kickflips
etc etc, you get the idea

I couldn't do any pressure trick to save my life, nor can I do many tricks that involve the use of moving your feet more than once (ie., Hospital flips - 1/2 Kickflip 1/2 Late FF Impossible, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I land 360 Flips with 1 foot, everytime (if it even flips at all), and I can not do any impossible (ollie, no comply, ff, etc.)

When I saw in the rules "people who don't have kickflips consistently", I thought it would be a little easier. Honestly, I don't think we're following the rules of a true Learner's Game very well.

Practiced Heelflips for a long time and I'm much closer than I was yesterday. I might end up getting a letter on them but I'll keep learning them 'cuz it's a pretty cool trick.

Im not against tricks being a challenge, but this IS a learners game and im pushing it myself being here :P but yeah, keep it simple nothing out of reach really, after like all basic/simple tricks have been done, feel free to bust a 900flip body varial to nose manual if you want...but for now, simplicity, the point of it is to get better and learn new tricks, not come in and get dominated, like the heelflip, that was probably like the second or third heeflip of my life, never had them down before..now i can bust it out withing 10 trys

I have like 8 pieces of 3/4 inch boards about 1.5 feet wide...2.5-3ft long never really measured...want to make a kicker with it but dont got 2x4s...but they just tore a house near me down..probably go jack some from it if thier not scompletely shredded..also have to find the old sign i jacked to smoothe out the bottom part haha

i cant get heelflips. :[ FAILURE. i seriously suck at skating and i'm kidding or anything. flipping the board and bringing my foot back is like physically impossible for me, its gay.

When your foot leaves the board, it helps to make a circular motion with it. That way, on it's decent, it'll drop right on the grip tape, without you worrying about accidentally stopping the flip with your front foot.

The first round of a GOS should just be stuff most of the people probably know/can get close too, don't start busting the crazy stuff until at least the 2nd round.

Nope i'm still a FAILURE. I can't do a flip trick for my life, I might be able to pull off a varial if my life was at stake. But I think i'd be better off at ledges gaps stairs and rails. man, i'm horrible.

You're definitely not horrible. I've seen your vids thus far - trust me, I know people who are FAR worse off than you.

The guy that got me into skating about 8 months ago still can't bust out anything other than a really low ollie. As far as I see it, anyone who has dedication and perseverance is already a great skater, because they're willing to learn.

So yeah, you're not a failure, whatsoever. You tried, and you'll probably try again at some point in the future. Hell, for all we know, you're gonna be busting out 360 hards in a month or two. Just don't give up on yourself, you know? I mean, you can take the letter if you want, no one here is going to judge you. All that matters is that you tried, and that you put in a good effort, which makes you a good skater already.

How long have you been skating? took me 6 months to learn a kickflip. its not easy once you figure out how to manipulate your board to do stuff and where to place your feet, its all easy, it comes with time and dedication. skating is not an easy way of life

You know what I mean though. This game WILL be a challenge sooner or later even without us trying to make it one, simply for the fact that we'll run out of tricks to set and have to learn new ones.

Lets not force this game into the dirt by using out hardest trick first. I'm sure not all of us have the same bag of tricks. So even easy tricks will get at least one person to expand and improve.

If more tricks are set (no-comply's, F/S shuvit, B/S 180,) the more veriaty and self-developement will be imbued into the game.

I would say for anyone who has fakie shuvits down it should be possible to get a bigspin by 4 days time. it took me maybe 30 minutes to figure them out fakie...regular on the other hand..sucks

Fakie big spins a fairly good standard. I like it and anyone can learn it in 4 days with enough comitment.

Same. But I'm still learning to push regular. It started out as a bet with my friend to see if I could push regular. He really doesn't care but I want to learn anyway coz I'm stubborn like that.

Getting a proper deck can make SO much difference. I skated for a long time on a K-mart deck and once I bought my Firm pool deck it was just bliss. I'm thinking about getting something smaller though. Hopefully make some tricks a bit easier.

It's just so gay, my foot can't kick out cause the board won't spin, and i don't think I should by a new board because I don't think i'm gonna learn anything cause i've been trying since i started and still can't, but I mean you skating stairs and miniramps and stuff, but i'm to scared to drop-in i did it once, and on stairs i don't think i can do more than a 3 or 4.

You should go to youtube, watch some trick tip videos, some are amazingly helpful

you dont kick out for heelflips, you flick out. i mean yeah you kick, but you gotta flick it too. like after you pop, dont just kick out. slide your foot like an ollie, and then kick/flick your foot out. watch the board spin, spot for grip, and stomp.

Yeah i'm most likely gonna have ska i probably cant match a bigspin. i feel i should be alot better than this by now, i can't do any grinds.

I landed probably 10 of those heelflips one footed and got 1 two footed but my front foot slipped off. I've almost got a sketchy one put together. I hope it can happen tomorrow.

I'm optimistic about the bigspin but not so much the fakie flip, haha.

About the set just focus on the fakie bigspin. It's much easier than the heelflip or fakie flip.

Fakie flips a toughie but once you figure out the balance to it its not all that hard

I tried a bigspin and when i tried to spin the same way as the board, it went way behind me. I'll try to stop being negative, but I can't have fun when people all around me are landing varials heels kickflips and i'm over there doing pop shove its. Then I try some can't get it and get mad.

Dont be so negative, be happy, skating in a good mood with an "Im going to get this" mindset makes you skate sooo much better and enjoy it

A week? He was in the BGOS game so he should be able to do a good chunk of them already.

hmmm... each match is 4 days. seeing as he was in the BGOS, lets make it 2. so 2 x how many sets he missed is how many days he gets to match them all.

^He'll be alright I think. When the first Lgos started, I missed the first four sets and matched all in one day since I'm so cool you know. Lol jk, but I think he can pull it off or not get like a couple of letters.
