Vans look to simple they will tear in a heart beat.

Lakai looks bad ass, im not much of a high topper, but they look sweet. not sure on the durability tho.

fallens also look simple, but have always treated me well.

Its hard for me to pick, and they arent even for me. I spend hours looking at shoes when I do. If I had to pick, I would go with fallen>Lakai>Vans

I found the telfords to be VERY uncomfortable. It just felt like a hard sock rather than a shoe. And telfords are prone to tearing quickly.

I would get the tnts, my friend has the tnt mids, and if the II's are anything like them (Which they PROBABLY are), they'll last. He's skated with them for 5-6 months, got new shoes, and is now skating the tnts again, and they still get the job done.

By the way, is it just me or does it really seem like most kids who have been praising Lakai for the quality of their shoes lately haven't even tried actual Lakai shoes and are solely basing their opinion on the impact 'Fully Flared' had on everyone's mind recently ? The vid was good, but it doesn't change the fact that pretty much any skater who has actually tried the shoes give them really bad reviews. All the pro-Lakai comments I've read recently have no argument to back themselves up (ie. 'Lakai or die !' 'Lakai = best', etc.), which makes me assume that their authors are only being influenced by the quality of their latest video production or their awesome pro roster, since on the other hand, everyone who seems to have actually tried the shoes find them horrible and actually back themselves up with their experience.

About your shoe choice : my latest Lakais were actually the worst shoes I've ever skated, I guess this pretty much sums it up. Then I couldn't decide between Fallen and Vans because I've never skated Fallen (the ones you posted look durable though, and I've only ever heard good things about Fallen), however I've had about a dozen of pairs of Vans, if not more, and they all were a quality pick. You decide :)

So did mine, and yes, I would second Globe ! The quality of their products is totally underrated, compared to other companies that are ten times more popular, yet make shoes that are ten times suckier.

My SJ4 lakai's were the most durable most comfortable shoe I've ever had next to my reynolds 2's. Forget the lakai video because I have yet to see it, this is an unbiased opinion, the SJ4s were the ****, I cant speak for the telfords, but I can say that my lakai's outperformed my fallens.

There's ALWAYS going to be the exception shoe. There are a few styles of Lakai that are great, but the majority of them, usually the most popular ones, are terrible. But maybe the telfords will be perfect for your style, you won't know until trying. If you don't want to risk getting a bad shoe, the tnts would probably have less of a risk factor.

MRCK, I've been in love with Lakai ever since I started skating (1 year ago). I'm in love with the team and just what they bring to the table. I've skated MJ-3s, Penzas, Carroll 4s, Marianos, and Koston Selects. I mentioned the Manchester because those are a team favorite and from information gathered on this messageboard and many others, they are also the favorites of others. If I were to show you my wardrobe of clothes, most of it will consist of something to do with Lakai. Like I said, I've been in love with the team since day one. They have that Girl and Chocolate connection. It also doesn't hurt that Koston, Carroll, and Mo are my favorites. (I've been following Mo since his forecast days). Just giving a heads up.

I've had a pair of telfords and I liked them. they lasted longer than most of my shoes , the tread on the sole did wear down rather fast and I'm not even hard on my soles. But I think they changed the tread pattern for newer colorways.

the TNT II's are typical vans, skate great but don't last long but they're really comfortable.

never had the fallens but they look super bulky, if you don't mind the huge bulkiness I guess those would work for you

I've only tried Vans and Fallen so that's all I can give input on.

I have the Vans TNT II in a different colorway (white leather) and they are great. I've skated in them a couple of times and once they're broken in they're super grippy. Boardfeel is great as well. I'm not so sure about the durability since I don't skate them that much though.

I don't have the Fallen model you posted but I have the Aces. They grip pretty well, have enough boardfeel and are really durable. I've been skating them for about a year now and they are still skateable. And they're suede. They are quite bulky though so if that's not your kind of thing then go with something else. I'd imagine that the Rival lo-fis are the same.

My 2 cents. Hope it helps. If I were you I'd get the Fallens though.

The Jamie Thomas Signature Fallens... I have them. <3 Black and red though.

They have the lace protector at the bottom aswell which is nice. And if I get lazy and decide to screw laces and not replace them when they do rip, the strap helps keep the shoe tight. Did I mention they come with a free coupon to your nearest brothel?
