NFGOS with footwork Sign Ups!

~ Rules ~
-3 days to set, 4 days to match (will follow central timezone time)
-3 trick combo limit in addition to footwork
-footwork is allowed but it cannot exceed 10 steps of footwork. For example: 4 walk the dogs, go into a 3 trick combo, and then 4 endovers to end.
-Footwork can come anywhere in the set for example before, inbetween, after, or all of the above as long as it doesn't exceed 10 steps.
-no straight ollie tricks unless they are into a railstand or tailstop for example or are a designated freestyle trick (airwalk, ollie fingerflip...)
-no manuals, no coco wheelies/primo slides
-360 spins are allowed but you cannot do more than 3 for this game
-no feet on the ground
-if a trick is set rolling it must be matched rolling. Can't come to a dead stop.
-a little toe touch is allowed but I'll be the judge of what is acceptable and what isn't.
-Setting order will go in order of sign ups.
-Remember this is a novice game which falls in between beginner and advanced. Therefore, you should have all the basics down and be able to start doing different variations with them. But things like carosels and TV stands may not be appropriate for this initial sets in this game. However, once it gets down to the last 2-3 skaters, anything is allowed.

Ah footwork, this is my first GOS and I believe im going to get out in no time haha.
Also can someone explain footwork to me more clearly? Foot work = tailstops, walk the dogs and stuff like that?
I am hoping the fs deck comes soon so I can practice hehe, that way I don't have to use my huge steet deck I have over here with the really short tail.
Footwork is fun, and this will allow me to actually do them more often, I don't practice footwork much at all.

endovers are pretty much pivots in a line, jaywalks i wouldnt really know how to explain lol ill find a vid for ya =)

In this game your allowed to do ollie flipy stuff in caspers and railstands and soo on though, if you were allowed to do straight up ollie flips it could turn out to be just like the GOS.

200 post minimum? you know ive got a life besides posting on forums.. Thats worse than the no ollie rule. That rule is to rule out players who are not serious.. please make an exception in this case the rule has cleary no point, ive been around so long on f-forum that you can see im definatly a serious player. Just applying a rule because its a rule would be pretty stupid.

Whenever I ran the games en el pasado, I always randomized the setting order. I always thought it made it more fair, because some of us do have lives outside of the Cafe, and don't hover over the SKATE games section you know?

About the order.. surly its just less hassel and less time consuming to just do the order of sign up? gets the game started quicker that way. Theres only 8 people playing anyways.

I'm doing okay. Been really busy with school and all. Ripped my knee up too, so I'm going to be the resident 'injured' player until it heals.

But yeah, do whatever is easiest for you Emily. I didn't see the part in the first post that said you'd do the sign-up order as the setting order, and so I just expected it to be randomized. Let's get the game started!

So who's got first set?

Yeah I've seen the setting order done both ways. I'll just leave it as the sign up order this time and whoever runs it next can change it if they want. I was able to film a set last night that I'll go head and get posted.

It's 3 walk the dogs to tailstop, tailstop fingerflip land tailstop, switch to nosestop, nosestop fingerflip to land, go into tailstop, and crossfoot varial underflip out.

That should be 3 tricks, 3-4 things of footwork depending on how you classify footwork, and then just set up for tricks. If anyone has a problem with how I did this let me know, but sets of this nature are what I had in mind for this GOS if you choose to to do a set with footwork in it.

Exactly, we're just not that type of skaters. You may be...but thats not us. I know a few of us got into freestyle because of street skating and the whole "not for us" thing :P Can ya film some tricks of you fs? hehe :icon_hug:

On topic, I got my first S after tonight I can't seem to grasp the last tricks lol :'(thanks to my footing I should have been regular instead of goofy hahaha.

^^you don't technically have to do any footwork. It is just allowed in this game if you want to do it.

Hey emily im going away monday to timhortons camp for my grade 8 school graduation trip for 4 days do you think i could get like a 3 day extention please.

^^I'll see when Panda posts his set and then kind of figure it out but some sort of extension will be fine. It just may be hard again depending on when he posts his set because then you might end up with two tricks you'd have to match if his matching time runs out and the next person sets. We'll see, but we should be able to work something out to at least give you a shot at matching.

Yeah that was the demo. It was really sick, Per Welinder showed up, and Primo and Diane. It was crazy.

Isn't the moving the board 90 degrees a style thing? it isn't actually a trick, I thought the set was 50-50 to nosestop, V fingerflip out?

You're just supposed to match it the same way the person set it. Style doesn't play a role really. You just have to do what the setting person did for it to count and the way Panda chose to get into the nose stop was by moving the board rather than hopping. I'm sorry. :( This is the bad part about hosting games. I have to be the bad guy and make people refilm if it doesn't match up.

To everyone in general, I'll keep hosting but I may not be able to keep playing. I just went for a bone scan tonight and I'm like 95% sure I have a tibia (shin) stress fracture. I have to wait to hear the final word from the doctor tomorrow, but based on what I've read and being in a health profession myself, I'm pretty positive that's what it I have. If so, I won't be able to do any intense activity for awhile. I'll let you all know tomorrow for certain though.

Inferno, your match still wasn't EXACTLY correct. You used your wrong hand to move the board into nose stop. I don't know how much this affects the rest of the trick, though. I want other peoples opinions of what they think. Should it go ahead and count, or does it not count, especially Panda since you set the trick??? I never know how picky to be but everyone else that matched did it the exact same way Panda did it. I'll update scores after this, but Stevie, feel free to set at any time.

It counts in my opinion. It's really not a major detail. It's like doing your 50-50s switch or regular.

I think its fine, I skate goofy and it's hard for me to do certain tricks...just depends how well adjusted certain aspects of our body is when it comes to how comfy we are with things...like I can switch pop shov it cleaner and higher then I can regular, I can almost 360 flips switch but not normally. I think as long as you all followed the basics of the trick, the finger varial, nh 50/50 and the nose stop then I believe it should count unless you did something way off lol. *thumbs up* :)

just went and messed around with the board to try and set soemthing and my wrist (thats sprained and wraped up) just took such a beating on a bail lol then i landed something then went to check it out and found out the tape had run out about 15 minites ago lol, soo im workin at work all day tomuro but have half days work on sunday soo my set will be up then.

Sorry to hear that :'( I hope you get better...I had a stress fracture + torn ligament last year hehe, and they messed up on the scans 4 times.
I hated not skating for about 4 months...oh God it was like taking my playstation 3 and my computer away. BUT luckily I had gaming and computers + my job since all I need is my hands lol.

To answer your Q, it's doing well actually :) I am proud to say it too, I am learning alot more quickly then I thought some reason primo half flip to rails are near impossible to do now, I think I may have tightened the trucks too much so i'm gonna test that theory out tomorrow...I just learned fingerflip to rails :) And now I am trying to learn nh 50/50 to rail. OH and rail to anti casper I am trying a video out tomorrow...I think you guys will get a laugh out of it if I do it correctly.

GOt my match up, my cameras disc drive stopped working after the rain yesterday so i had to use the camera on my mobile phone (quite horrible) hopefully you can see the trick alright. I get a replacement camera on the weekend if its not visible :/

I did get the results of my bone scan and they said it was just shin splints. I'm not entirely sure I agree it's JUST that, so I'm doing exercises for my leg and I have been skating, but I still think I'm going to drop out because with the little skating I'm allowing myself to do I want to work on other things rather than just matches for this game. Sorry guys.

I'm taking an S too haha I fell directly on my head as soon as I landed X foot...tried it again after and almost had the same result so I said "X foot isn't for me" haha.

no thats a clear triple a double would look like i didnt put any effort into the flip. and you dont have to turn your body just triple railflip out

That board flipped 1 3/4s times, not 2 3/4s times.

It was a double. It was 1) too low to the ground for it to be a triple, and 2) not in the air long enough for it to be a triple. Put it in slow motion and count, I think the body varial you put in there is confusing you.

^^ Hey Stevie! I'm sorry to say but I don't think that counts. You landed in tailstop for the 45 degree fingerflip before bring it back around. It was set as a revert so you need to catch it on the back wheels and bring it around. That's how the set was done and how all the matches were done. This is also something that makes the set harder to do rather than just landing it in tailstop. Sorry man. It was a nice combo though. If you have time you still have till the end of today.

Now I landed heelflip to rail about 4 times but the 1.5 railflip to rail is my other main problem.
