Maybe the wrong place to ask (I'll post it on other forums) but I have nothing to lose so I'll throw this out there, does anyone know any books on either:

1) Western Medicine - as in, the pharmaceutical companies? Our progress in medicine. Our struggle to eradicate more diseases (as we fortunately did with smallpox).

Also, progress towards safer sex? I was watching a show (either on Discovery or History, one of the two) that was talking about African education towards safer sex, I wanted to know more and what they're doing and how it compares to Western practices. After all, it's not just because of lack-of-food that they're dying.

2) Comparative Education - What I mean by this is education in America as opposed to other countries. One thing I can't stand is how our teacher unions demand so much money for the schools when we're ranked so d*mn low compared to the rest of the world.

3) Hallucinogens - Things like drugs and their effects on society, why marijuana is taboo but tobacco is not, despite one being obviously more dangerous. So, books on drugs, throw them out there...I'll look into them and see what to buy.
