View Full Version : New Deck And Small Video
bbengyak 05-25-2008, 02:07 PM I got a new Small School deck a few days ago from Jeremy and filmed for a bit today. Just some practice footage, maybe one or two new things but some of the tricks are a little sketchy. Here's a pic of the deck set up:

bbengyak 05-25-2008, 02:18 PM ^Ahh, yohos aren't going so well, can't hold them long enough to get down from them, but I do have another yoyo variation for the freestyle project but I won't tell just yet. :)
girlsk8r 05-25-2008, 03:29 PM Awesome! Your videos always amaze me even if it's just practice footage :)

Yes, the same one on the Small School blog.
Merging doublepost
awesome video! how are you liking the new skids? i got a pair too
Yeah, they're good but I never skated the older ones so I can only compare to some other brands.
itmepaul 05-25-2008, 04:45 PM That was great XD
Nameless 05-25-2008, 05:40 PM I'm gonna hate myself for how I'm about to say, what I'm about say;
"Thats was pretty sweet dude! Now I wanna board like that!"
Now I feel stupid... but I gotta ask; is it just the camera angle or do u like your railstands to lean to one side?
lsara3699 05-25-2008, 06:17 PM Holy... that vid was sick!

Right now I don't have offset wheels so my board leans kind of forward when I'm in rail so it's not the camera angle.

Ah ok... I was just wondering cuz I used to railstand the same way; and found out about axle destruction -the hard way... :icon_bs:
Trebor 05-26-2008, 04:18 PM that was snappy
nice deck
arling777 05-26-2008, 09:28 PM Becoming a fan of single kick/flat decks? Tell us more about how the deck rides!
bbengyak 05-26-2008, 09:54 PM ^This is my first nonconcave single kick, I'm undecided on what I will ride next. I really like the mellow tail for 540 shuvits and the shape of the tail is also perfect for that rail whip type trick in the beginning of the video. I'm still getting used to the shape of the nose for rail flips though and the fact that is is flat, I think I might try concaved single kicks again after this deck. I didn't like the Harward deck I skated but I that was more just because of the shape of the deck.
Tim-A 05-26-2008, 10:06 PM they make concaved singles
arling777 05-26-2008, 10:14 PM Yeah, tommy Harward's out look model.
Brian, I'm trying two of the eastbilt Harward's to decide whether I like single kick flat or single kick concave better.
After I skate that deck I'm probably going to have Jeremy cut whichever style I like better with the dimensions of the old Morris from decomposed. The only thing I really don't like about my current Morris is the taper of the nose and tail. I can hardly do any rail to rail tricks consistently.
dude nice video man that was sick the casper shuffles to 360 casper flip out
bbengyak 05-27-2008, 02:37 PM Yeah, tommy Harward's out look model.

Two Harwards?? I didn't really like much about the deck. Too short, big 6" tail with a short tail that just didn't seem to go with it. I did like the tail for varial rail flips back to rail though, for some reason it was just perfect for it. The nose was also alright for nh fan flips but not the best. Other than that I didn't like much about it. If I get this shape again I think I'll probably ask Jeremy to put more taper to the nose also for easier rail flips.
arling777 05-27-2008, 03:34 PM Yeah, they're blanks so I figured what the hell. I'm not too picky about decks as to where I wouldn't ride one twice if I wasn't a big fan.
bbengyak 05-27-2008, 04:20 PM ^Alright, if I try a concaved single kick again I think I'd try the Con deck. I'd recommend not getting Eastbilt skids with the decks though, I ripped straight through the mounting hole of the tail skid that I got with the Harward model.
Callum Bowran 05-28-2008, 03:29 AM It's generally the hardware they use rather than the skid itself I tend to find.
Anyway, cool video. Looks like a really nice deck! Reckon you could take a picture of it in rail so I can see the angle of the tail?

I'm going to order some tailbones from witter.

Yeah, got them for free for doing a review a while back, they have a good urethane formula even though they are center set. I usually spend so much money keeping up on decks, I'm a little broke by the time I need new wheels. They did contact me again recently asking if I would interested in being on a team they are forming now. I'd said sure but I also asked them if they would be interested in making a freestyle wheel. Still waiting back though so cross your fingers. {rf)
Zak Kimball 05-28-2008, 09:13 PM For 15 minutes that was a great video.
Did jeremy get a new type of skids? Cause i dont like the smallschool skids that i used to have.
nice shoes btw
bbengyak 05-28-2008, 09:19 PM Yeah, he's working on a new formula to last longer, those are just testers though.
arling777 05-29-2008, 02:44 PM I love those rail shuv-it to tail stops but I never tried them until today, its a fun trick.
I'm going to head out and try to get one into rail instead of tail stop later.

arling777 05-29-2008, 09:39 PM That would be so sick if you got them to make a freestyle wheel. Thats exactly what I thought when I saw grimcity's review of them on youtube (it's good/thorough look it up).
Good luck with that!
Minihub 05-30-2008, 12:15 PM Go Brian:icon_woow Well done man, hope the freestyle wheel comes out.
