Wow...I wouldn't mind having those haha, I was always wondering "Maybe I should design shoes just for freestyle" but way beyond me haah...I used to put ducktape on the tops of my shoes, I used to even put grip tape on the top lol.

Shame about the stitching around the toe.

Geo
05-27-2008, 04:22 AM
they would be alright but yeah that stitching at the toe doesn't appeal to me though i guess wouldn't go through so many pairs of laces.

fogle
05-27-2008, 05:51 PM
thosw would be cool to have if they came in other colours, but still I'd get them if they weren't too expensive

save me some money on laces

So does duct tape, and you'll only have to tape them up once it's worn through the cover anyway.Expensive solution to an inexpensive problem I feel.

Damn those are ugly...

But like this guy said:

i present to you, the people, the adio snap. i highly suggest you all get at least one pair of these. been skating these kicks since i got my first "GOKE" board, and only now am i starting on my second pair.

http://shoebox.kr/cgi/data/goodsImages/GOODS1_9195827249

-triple stitched for uber protection/durabillity
-the circle on the underside protects against footwork damage (walk the dogs anyone?)
-the shoe has an inside lacing option, literally making any casper/50-50 damage to the laces non existant. (no more duct tape!)
-they are just about the same weight as a pair of chucks
-the tounge is padded, but not too much
-dont foget extremely stylish and comfortable...

its no wonder TERRY SYNNOTT skates adio footwear...need i say anything else?

my new pair is going to be here monday...w00t! :icon_woow

Just Kidding, because that sounded a lot like an ad in a magazine. If you are that'd be sick too.

MGokey
05-28-2008, 08:35 PM
no, im just serious about the quality of this shoe. ive been skating the same pair since feb!

like i would be able to skate for a massive money hungry company like adio anyways...hahaha

EDIT plus, i have spent alot of time looking for a good shoe. ive skated element, dvs, dc, es, enties, adio (obviously) converse, nike, hell ive even tried some andy macdonald vert/park shoes. all im saying is that ive found an exellent shoe for freestyle, and id like to share my knowledge ;)

Matt, do they really help with walk the dogs =) All my shoe's bottom layer get worn down really quick from them..

Zak Kimball
05-28-2008, 08:50 PM
May I ask the price on these?
I generally get shoes for less than $30, most pair last 1-2 months.
They only real damage mine get is from caspers, nh 50-50, walk the dogs and the like...
Besides, whats wrong with a little tape?

dark-lion
05-28-2008, 08:53 PM
actually the Jamie Thomas fallen shoes are great for dog walks. I have been doing them a lot lately with this shoe and they havent worn down one bit. It's too bad that thats all they are good for because when I duct tape my shoes the swayde on the shoe help keeps the glue on and now my black shoes have gluey white spots on them =(.

Also I etnies is a good company for freestyle shoes they even sponsors freestyle skater(Gary Holl is a nice example of that). Etnies was also founded and I believe is still currently owned by Pierre Andre bet you didnt know that ;).

Zak Kimball
05-28-2008, 08:55 PM

that happens to mine also, I keep a pair just for skating and another for doing other stuff

MGokey
05-28-2008, 08:58 PM
price is anywhere from $60-$80...

yes, they really WILL last longer. thats why i said it...lol.

nothing wrong with tape, i throw tape on my chucks all the time. but even tape gets worn through if you do enough casper/50-50 maneuvers...its just another option that makes the adio snap that much better. why use annoying tape that you have to replace during a session, when you dont have to while wearing the adio snap?

enties are good if you can afford a new pair semi-often. the toes of my enties calicuts were obliterated 3 weeks after getting them.

^I'll have to give those Adios a try. For me generally it's a race between caspers/nh 50/50 on top of the shoe vs. walk the dogs on the bottom to see who can reach my sock first. Unfortunately walk the dogs usually win. :(

arling777
05-28-2008, 09:08 PM
I'd use tape regardless of the quality of the shoe, and I use it far before it starts to get ripped up. I skate way worse in shoes that don't fight tightly.

Get gorilla tape by the way, its black and doesn't look as bad as the normal shiny silver duct tape, and one good taping of the spots that usually wear out can last me weeks.

i couldnt have said it better myself.

dont be fooled by other shoes trying to pick up on the cirlce feature either. DC has a few models out with a simmilar design. the ones i have suck. the rubber on the bottom is 3 different densities, which is actually the most retarded part of the entire shoe once you start skating them. not to mention they make a sound simmilar to that of an airplane touching down when you move them across the griptape. element has a few models with the circle feature too, but adio really hit the nail on the head. the "circle thing" isnt exactly a new feature in skate shoes, the old vision shes had something SORTA like it. they looked like they had a big fingerprint on the bottom, its pretty cool actually.

I usually use a mix of shoe goo and duct tape combined, helps keep it sticking on and lasts longer by putting the shoe goo on top.

you dont need tape for the adios, they (the laces, aka the whole point of tape) are tucked neatly under the lace flaps by a good 1/4 inch...tape would have absolutely no effect whatsoever. it might keep the shoes looking nice, but cmon now.

I have a pair of lakais, that have lasted me about 3 months. they have the circle thing too, it works. the only problem with these is that the sole tore yesterday

arling777
05-28-2008, 09:29 PM
I would still probably rip up the laces, and I usually rip up the toe stitching, and the bevels that the laces thread through. I know the toes are triple stitched but I can destroy shoes.
Merging doublepost
Speaking of the circle thing...My older brother skates a little bit (a tiny little bit) and he bought a pair of Nike sb's I think last summer. He doesn't skate much at all but he had them all year, then two-ish months ago he got a new pair of shoes and I decided to skate them along with a diferent pair b/c they were still ok.

They have some sort of patch similar to the circle in the big toe area and I've used them quite a bit. I still haven't worn all the way through the rubber.

I think spacewalks are what kills my shoes though. Just that constant pivoting on the grip tape...

yes, thats the only shoe ive been skating in the last six months. go watch my videos if you dont believe me. id occasionally skate in my chucks (with tape) when i felt like being really oldschool. dont wanna wear them out too fast, hence the "occasionally".

as for converse: terrible skating shoes, actually. good control/flex, exellent weight, terrible protection and horrible durability. rodney got paid to wear chucks.

arling777
05-28-2008, 10:54 PM
It hurts so much to do casper/truck transfers or get hit in the foot with chucks on...

I ended up not liking them. You would think the flexibility would mean you can feel the board better and therefore have more control, but to me it felt like skating barefoot. I can't think of a way to describe it at the moment...but they make my feet feel small.

EDIT: If I were to wear chuck's consistently I would have to shoegoo/tape on some cut up Gatorade bottles or something to protect my feet. I've actually done the same thing with a wristband for a makeshift wrist guard for the first few days I tried carousels. It works really well.
