View Full Version : I need help please
z-dude 05-26-2008, 06:29 AM I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section and I'm sorry if I'm being such a noob but I don't know what kind of board to buy since I just thought of boarding a few weeks ago(I usually borrow my friend's board and I got hooked to boarding).
So guys can you please tell me what are nice skateboards for me to buy?Budget is no problem for me.
Thank you in advance for your help.
matmieciek 05-26-2008, 08:50 AM What you prefer street or freestyle ?
For street i think best decks are alien workshop(habitat) and girl(chocolate).
Tensor, royal(not venture) trucks are best for me.
Type of wheels doesn't really make diffrence.
Bearings maybe rush or bones (don't buy element).
rekees 05-26-2008, 08:58 AM Deck: Kewday if you're lucky enough to get one, Alien Workshop if u cant get kewday
Trucks: Krux or Independent
Wheels: Bones Street Tech or Blanks
Bearings: Bones definitely
Hardware: Zoo York Mounting Hardware
Bushings: Krux stock or get some bones medium of pig yellow
Skate Tool: Element do the job for me, but if you want, get an almost swiss army
Lubricant: Bones lubricant
Anti Ruster: WD-40
Grip Tape: Mob or Jebus
Razor Blade (Cut off the grip): Any
Grip Tape to slide the grip with: Mob
Tools: You'll need a screw driver
Music Device: iPod
Spot Traveller: Preferbally a car
Helmet: One that fits
Gloves: Ones that fit
Shoes: I'd get DC or eS but any shoe will do
Socks: Nike
Backpack: DC
Hat: Quicksilver
z-dude 05-26-2008, 09:48 AM ^ is that for street cuz I'd rather go street than vert :D
thanks for all your help
do you have a rough estimate how much are all of those? :D
cheapBoarder 05-26-2008, 11:28 AM Deck: mini-logo, or dwindle deck (Almost,Blind,Darkstar, Enjoi)
Trucks: Krux or Independent
Wheels: Darkstar Wheels
Bearings: Rush Bombers
Shoes: I really like Osiris. I also like eS, deklines.
For street go for Alien Workshop or Plan B. Mainly Alien Workshop, they rule.
If you want something that is sturdy and will lost longer, go for Enjoi.
z-dude 05-26-2008, 10:08 PM thanks for all the help guys
is there a specific size of board I should buy considering I'm 15 years old and around 5 '5
rekees 05-27-2008, 06:40 AM yes my setup was for street.
15 years old and 5'5. I have no idea how big that is. But i am going to say 7.5 - 7.75 should do the trick.
Merging doublepost
oh yea and it also depends on where u live. Im going buy australian money here so
Kewday decks are about 100$ and they are very easy to find here in australia cause they're an australian company (yay). If your in USA, they should be around 60 USD.
Krux trucks here are 100$.
They should be 60 USD there.
Wheels here are about 60 - 80, there it should be 30 - 40.
Bearings are about 30 aud so thats about 10 usd
skateandlive94 05-27-2008, 06:43 AM There is no point in asking this, everyone will give a different answer because everyone has their own preferances...
z-dude 05-27-2008, 07:56 PM I'm deciding if I should get an Almost or Alien Workshop or Plan B for a begginer street skater like me.
What do you guys think I should buy?
cheapBoarder 05-27-2008, 10:07 PM I say a habitat, because it is from the same company as Alien workshop but it has a nice mellow concave for you to learn on.
flipnoob 05-28-2008, 06:11 AM i'm a noob skater too...and i just what to ask what kind of deck and trucks should i get for better flip tricks?...help me please
rekees 05-30-2008, 03:52 AM simple answer: it doesnt matter, ure not gonna learn flips on ure 1st day so just get any board and any trucks
Aries 05-30-2008, 04:37 AM I think the first complete a beginner should have is av all blank complete except bearings. Since your a beginner you would be learning tricks, so it makes sense that you should just buy a cheap blank because your going to mess it up(no offense it's just what I have learned from past experience). Basically what I'm trying to say is, since your a beginner you might wanna get something cheap so you know that you are committed to the sport, before buying a really expensive complete then not knowing how to take care of the board and maybe not using it. Also, since your learning it doesn't really matter what kind of board you use. This all on the assumption you will skate street.
