Im saving up for a vx-1000 so i can upgrade my camera set up. I was wondering how much it would be to buy one and a fish eye lens. (maybe baby death). Also wondering if it would be smart if I bought the camera used or if i should just go all out a get a new one. Any other advice would be nice.
and is the vx-1000 the right camera to get for a young A.M filmer, (making it my 4th camera) or is it way out of my league?

well, you cant buy a vx 1000 new anymore... right now, you can buy a vx2100, but that will be soon dismissed as well.
heres what i would do. save up about $1000 (i know its alot) and i would buy a used vx 1000 refurbished, with a warranty. (cause you never know what you are going to get on ebay or skateperception...- i was burned on skateperception)
a refurbished one should still leave you with a lil cash for spending money (100-150ish)
now i would go online and buy a raynox mx3000 pro lens (death $100)
it will treat you well, and if you want to even make it better, just pm me once you get the setup..
the camera may be out of your league, but if you can get it, why not? you going to have to learn sometime

uhm yes. Maybe later on when you are better at using the VX1 you may get a Century Mark 1 fisheye which is around $600-$800 way better fisheye and a lot wider than the raynox.

I like VX1000s, but honestly, not to be a ****, but it is quite an advanced camera.
It is more than likely that you are going to encounter a lot of problems at some point in the future with this camera.
The colors are also much harder to set on a Vx1000, in my opinion, compared to the newer model Vx2000/Vx2100.
Also, Im going to guess you will be filming with an LCD either way, and Vx1000s do not have an LCD.
The camera is great, but straight up I dont think you are ready for whats gonna be tossed your way with one.
