KrispyKicks 05-29-2008, 08:02 PM christian....music....FREAKIN ROCKS!!!!! HOLY JESUS!!!! OMGWTFHAX!!!!! YEAH!!!! NativeSkater 05-29-2008, 08:07 PM I only listen to Christian Metal/Rock. Demon Hunter, Underoath, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage(yes they're christian) etc. Berishman 05-29-2008, 08:11 PM Yeah, My three top picks are: Switchfoot Blessthefall Relient K NativeSkater 05-29-2008, 08:18 PM I had no idea Blessthefall was christian. Hey Berishman have you ever heard of mewithoutyou? Izzy 05-30-2008, 04:56 AM I like some of it. What I'd like in music style of other music I like in style of Christian. Let me think of some. Kutless, Pillar, Casting Crowns (rock!), Rush of Fools, The Crabb Family (I know, old school, but they have some good newer stuff on their more recent CDs), Eddie James (my personal favorite). Don't get much into the screamo/really hard stuff though. Not that I think it's bad, just I don't like it as much. Honestly the hardest band I've actually ever cared anything for is Disturbed (though the majority of their stuff is no good cause they use REALLY strong language in most of it). ricta_rules 05-30-2008, 11:51 AM demon hunter ,as i lay dying ,toby mac ,POD ,haste the day ,some norma jean , ill harmonics, manafest , project 86/ pillar, and a whole bunch of others Edwin 05-30-2008, 12:14 PM do you only listen to them bands because they are christian? so you wouldn't listen to a band whom had a muslim member, for example? ricta_rules 05-30-2008, 12:15 PM i didnt say that...thats just some bands that happen to be christian that i listen to just because im christian doesnt make me racist tigergirl 05-30-2008, 09:59 PM I like some of it. Demon Hunter, Underoath, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage(yes they're christian) etc.You are kidding me right? NativeSkater 05-31-2008, 12:00 AM You are kidding me right? No I am not. All the bands I listed including Killswitch Engage are christian. Their lyrics are also christian. People think KSE is secular because of their name, same with As I lay Dying. People think they have to say God or Jesus to be christian. That's not true, they're christian. savedskater43 05-31-2008, 12:03 AM isnt paramore christian i beleive they are..... NativeSkater 05-31-2008, 12:28 AM isnt paramore christian i beleive they are.....They believe in God but aren't christian. Shorty's_Kid 05-31-2008, 10:08 AM isnt paramore christian i beleive they are..... They are christian themselves, if that is what you mean. They are not a christian band though, meaning their lyrics arent christian. TheWHOAmnizer 05-31-2008, 11:32 PM i dont only listen to christian..i listen to whatever i like lol. but the good thing about it is when your listening to christian music, the lyrics are always reminding you of Gods love and it keeps Him continually in your thoughts (for me).i like The Following (check them out on myspace if you havent heard them) , A Kiss for Jersey (them to) , POD, Red (myspace.com/dropofred)..thats all i can think of at the moment..i like the christian bands that are more rock then praise...the praise kind arent bad but the bands that are actually rippin some guitar and stuff are better. Shorty's_Kid 06-01-2008, 01:43 PM ^That's cool that you like Akissforjersey, they live about 10 minutes from me. Joey (The Drummer) was up at my school the other day for some reason, probably picking up Nathan. Shorty's_Kid 06-05-2008, 06:05 PM ^Raleigh is definitley legit for skating. Tyler Self 06-05-2008, 07:49 PM uh i think raleigh and i dont know the other, both towns had an air force base.. NC skate kids are insane. Wake Forest has a lot of skating stuff. Skatepark, lots of skaters, plenty of street spots...;) Shorty's_Kid 06-05-2008, 07:56 PM ^Yeah, down your area NC has some sick people. Up at my end we have... uhh, Eric Reeves, Steve Fox, and we did have Justin Brock before he moved to ATL. haha. tigergirl 06-05-2008, 08:36 PM I like the praise and worship a lot. LukEASY 06-05-2008, 08:43 PM I had no idea Blessthefall was christian. Hey Berishman have you ever heard of mewithoutyou? I saw them live :D Vinnie O 06-05-2008, 08:59 PM i love Blessthefall, Killswitch engage, and akissforjersey =] Shorty's_Kid 06-05-2008, 10:11 PM Horray for Akissforjersey fans! Bragas 06-06-2008, 07:00 PM Yeh i listen to a bit-Emery and Underoath are some of my favorites I also have this compilation CD with a mix of artists. I dig Pigeon John as well-worship bands such as Hillsong and David Crowder Band are pretty chill just to relax especially now im listening to emery just to calm down im pretty worked up. ATL'sMostWanted 06-15-2008, 08:23 AM Haha i thought I was the only akissforjersey fan....strange :) But I'm really big into them, Agraceful (the old emarosa vocalists new band), blessthefall, Through their Eyes, My Children My Bride, and Sufjan Stevens. Anyone going to scream the prayer tour? TheWHOAmnizer 06-15-2008, 04:30 PM ^ i hadnt heard of it..ill check it out. ATL'sMostWanted 06-15-2008, 09:46 PM ^ i hadnt heard of it..ill check it out. yeah man if you're into christian hardcore you'll love it! Most of the bands I named except for sufjan and btf are on it :icon_bigg Madison 06-15-2008, 09:54 PM Yeah, My three top picks are: Switchfoot Blessthefall Relient K I saw them live once with MXPX. :icon_yes: It was pretty sweet, they did a couple of old sitcom theme songs too...The crowd really got into it. Ironically, I listen to a lot of Christian bands. Most of them have already been mentioned though. I had no idea so many people were into Akissforjersey! I love their latest album so much. :) tlerglaes 06-16-2008, 01:15 PM what kind of genre is Akissforjersey? i might want to look them up and listen to a couple of there songs, maybe even by an album, i'm getting bored w/ the CD's i've got, TO ITUNES AND BEYOND!!! LOL, anyone got any good bands that are kinda like Relient K or jonzetta, i also like skillet and Red, PM me w/ ideas Thanks Tyler TheWHOAmnizer 06-18-2008, 01:50 AM i checked out scream the prayer...im not really into that stuff but i did kinda like before their eyes and blessed by a broken heart feedmegrease 06-21-2008, 07:15 PM Funny how Christians say that all music is satanic except for their own. Tyler Self 06-21-2008, 10:21 PM Funny how Christians say that all music is satanic except for their own. Whoa whoa, hasty generalization there good sir. The only people I have ever heard say that are old people who grew up in 'that' era (if you know what I mean). The same people who say this got mad when they heard Muslims were looking at the house next door to buy. I listen to a lot of bands that aren't Christian. Look up Slayer. NativeSkater 06-21-2008, 10:30 PM I listen to a lot of bands that aren't Christian. Look up Slayer.I do too. I used to think just what fmg said. But then I realized it's nothing wrong with it, it's just music. It's also just the emotions, feelings, opinions, etc.(that sounds gay lol) of the songwriters/musicians. And if you don't agree with their lyrics or whatever, you can just listen for the music, instead of the lyrics too. That how it is with me. Shorty's_Kid 06-21-2008, 10:38 PM what kind of genre is Akissforjersey? i might want to look them up and listen to a couple of there songs, maybe even by an album, i'm getting bored w/ the CD's i've got, TO ITUNES AND BEYOND!!! LOL, anyone got any good bands that are kinda like Relient K or jonzetta, i also like skillet and Red, PM me w/ ideas Thanks Tyler Akissforjersey only fits into one genre: Amazing. Seriously though, they don't fit into a genre. It's like, christian rock with hardcore elements and southern rock thrown in from time to time. feedmegrease 06-21-2008, 10:43 PM Yeah Tyler, just what I've come across, man. Merging doublepost Akissforjersey only fits into one genre: Amazing. Seriously though, they don't fit into a genre. It's like, christian rock with hardcore elements and southern rock thrown in from time to time. Akissforjersey I wouldn't call rock. Rock is blues, jazz, and soul based, but AKFJ aren't, therefore, not rock. I think that Akissforjersey would be hardcore-ish. They're still good, though. :) mr. awesome 06-22-2008, 01:13 AM theres alot of genres under the genre considered 'christian' but i dont think of christian music as a genre really. cause theres metal/metalcore/hardcore christian bands, like seventh star then theres like pop christian bands like relient k. and theres alot of difference in there. but yeah im down with christian bands! i really like burden of a day, seventh star (RIP), relient k, wait til wednesday :], idk, theres an endless list of christian bands i like. if any of you guys listen to A Day to Remember, me and my friends noticed this, they have a song called 'why walk on water when you have boats' or something like that... its basicly dissing christian religion. but the lyrics to the song 'fast forward to 2012' go... We welcome you to the second chapter thanks for turning the other page We acknowledge you as the only reason for the progress that we've made You're a constant reminder we came, we saw, we conquered Everything has come so far From where we were before Well keep this short and sweet so I'll get to the point, that sounds like its reffering to god... hahah, i just thought that was kidna funny Shadowskater 06-22-2008, 01:23 AM No I am not. All the bands I listed including Killswitch Engage are christian. Their lyrics are also christian. People think KSE is secular because of their name, same with As I lay Dying. People think they have to say God or Jesus to be christian. That's not true, they're christian. I didn't know they were because I know some satanists that listen to them. Madison 06-22-2008, 01:28 AM I didn't know they were because I know some satanists that listen to them. Wow, I don't think I've ever met anyone who's open about being a Satanist...and I'm from NYC. Shadowskater 06-22-2008, 01:31 AM Wow, I don't think I've ever met anyone who's open about being a Satanist...and I'm from NYC.I have met a couple of them. One was a crazy crack head too. He was trying to sell me drugs and then he started acting like he had demons in him, which more and likely he did. Tyler Self 06-22-2008, 11:09 AM I almost became a Satanist. I like the ideas. .snOWFalls. 06-22-2008, 11:29 AM i know these guys look a bit funny, but no joke, the music is actually really good, you just have to listen to it and be open minded. It's like a really upbeat country rock gospel but a really contemporary feel. http://peasantswithpitchforks.com/point/images/christian_crusaders_with_al_davis_.jpg street skater 06-22-2008, 11:51 AM I remember hearing some Christian rapper on youtube. Forgot his name though. I will try to get it. mr. awesome 06-23-2008, 12:43 AM yeah man one day in computer class i found this cd in my friends computer, so we started listening to it, and it was a bunch of chiristian rap songs. i think it was like.. something with red in the name. i cant remember much else tho. it was pretty chill CT-Matt 06-23-2008, 08:22 PM I make Christian music with my friend :) We've only written a few songs, but recorded a bunch of covers. Check it out. http://www.mattnicolemusic.com Shorty's_Kid 06-23-2008, 10:04 PM I didn't know they were because I know some satanists that listen to them. What does that have to do with anything? Shadowskater 06-23-2008, 10:37 PM What does that have to do with anything?Well they said that hated God and didn't want to have anything to do with God and listening to Christian music is having something to do with God. Tyler Self 06-23-2008, 10:42 PM ^^Dude, Satanism is about indulgence. If you wish to indulge yourself in Christian music, then they say "more power to you." Derrick14 06-23-2008, 10:43 PM the only christian band I know is flyleaf, and I'm not even sure she is christian =Z28= 06-23-2008, 11:23 PM I tossed most of my cd's when I got saved. The only secular ones I held on to were rage against the machine and KSE, but i havent listened to either since then. I just can't throw away such great music. KSE is positive, great lyrics, but they don't speak about God. If they do, it's the vague lyrics that can be speaking about either God, or something else. I don't like that. I like bands who are upfront about their faith, and their lyrics show it. Demon hunter is an example.. anyways my bands I listen to (that werent listed): blindside, becoming the archetype, mortal treason, living sacrifice, disciple, devil wears prada. if I can suggest some bands, it'd be those 3. Straight metal. What I like about Christian music is it keeps God in your mind. That's how we're supposed to live imo. Thinking about God all the time, and if you can do that you can filter out a lot of sinful thoughts... atleast it works for me. ^^Dude, Satanism is about indulgence. If you wish to indulge yourself in Christian music, then they say "more power to you." Yeah, but there's various degrees of satanism. Like, someone can just feed the flesh (indulge as you say), follow their natural sinful nature, or they can be deeper into satanism then that. Like, we're talking sacrificing animals and babies. That's to the extreme tho, I'd wager most satanists aren't like that. They have a interview of a satanist on wayofthemaster.com, an evangelist and satanist talk together in the same room. Rather interesting how they get along, and laugh together. I remember hearing some Christian rapper on youtube. Forgot his name though. I will try to get it. Mighta been Lecrae or Trip lee, they seem to be kinda big rappers in the Christian community. I think they're great too. watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P23KkrBxuk =] Shorty's_Kid 06-23-2008, 11:25 PM Well they said that hated God and didn't want to have anything to do with God and listening to Christian music is having something to do with God. At 15, they are probably just trying to be different. Tyler Self 06-23-2008, 11:37 PM Yeah, but there's various degrees of satanism. No satanists are like that. Satanism does not sacrifice anything, and has never claimed to. You may be talking about Luciferians. I don't know much about them myself, but there is a fine line between Luciferians and Satanists. =Z28= 06-23-2008, 11:44 PM I very well could be.. as I don't really see a line between lucifer or satan. satanism is big on indulging, well what if you had a satanic guy who loved to sacrifice animals to satan? Tyler Self 06-23-2008, 11:52 PM I very well could be.. as I don't really see a line between lucifer or satan. satanism is big on indulging, well what if you had a satanic guy who loved to sacrifice animals to satan? Well most Christians don't, they are one in the same. But the religions using the titles are not. Satanists have the "eleven rules of the Earth" that they abide by. Looking through my Satanic Bible, numbers 9 and 10: 9: Do not harm little children. 10: Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food. Better yet, the Church of Satan's official website page on the topic: http://www.churchofsatan.com/Pages/Eleven.html Noj 06-24-2008, 12:01 AM 5btRmGiYi6Q |
