I was really for the pistons but they lost to boston so now i'm for boston. Who are you guys for? razz 05-30-2008, 11:48 PM Lakers will win, 4-2 Noj 05-30-2008, 11:49 PM Lifelong Laker fan here. The teams match up very well. Both are very deep and have lots of weapons. Should be a great series! Peat 05-31-2008, 10:51 AM Lakers djkells 05-31-2008, 11:08 AM haha all you Lakers Fans.. Boston will win no doubt, Kobe vs Garnet, Pierce, Allen, No way Lakers bench can own up to it luiggy3 05-31-2008, 11:30 AM Boston all the way. Lakers depend too much on Kobe. I say get a sh*tty player fro Boston and just trip Kobe. :D Boston loses a sh*tty player. Lakers lose their whole team. :D djkells 05-31-2008, 11:57 AM Boston all the way. Lakers depend too much on Kobe. I say get a sh*tty player fro Boston and just trip Kobe. :D Boston loses a sh*tty player. Lakers lose their whole team. :D Boston don't have no ****ty players :) Noj 05-31-2008, 12:10 PM Kobe won the MVP this year specifically for the reason that he has a team which no longer depends too heavily on him. Between Gasol, Odom, and Fisher, the Lakers are an offensive juggernaut. Bench players such as Luke Walton, Sasha Vujacic, and Jordan Farmar have all emerged as legitimate NBA players. The Lakers swept Denver, beat Utah in six, and took down defending champion San Antonio in five. Meanwhile, Boston struggled to put away Atlanta and Cleveland in seven game thrillers before finding their stride against Detroit. Boston has home court advantage, and in addition to their big three play outstanding team defense. There's a reason they won the most games in the NBA in the regular season. We'll see. Madison 05-31-2008, 12:44 PM I'm all for the Lakers. Kobe's ego is larger than this planet  but he's still a great player. The Lakers have an overall strong team, I can just see them winning....easily. luiggy3 05-31-2008, 01:10 PM Boston don't have no ****ty players :) Good point. :icon_clap cowowine 05-31-2008, 02:16 PM Boston will win it. Garnett, Pierce, and Allen are unstoppable compared to Kobe. djkells 05-31-2008, 02:32 PM Kobe won the MVP this year specifically for the reason that he has a team which no longer depends too heavily on him. I think it honestly comes down to the Lakers bench, Hell I want the Celts to win it, but if the Lakers bench show up, were pretty much ****ed. Madison 05-31-2008, 10:42 PM Boston will win it. Garnett, Pierce, and Allen are unstoppable compared to Kobe. ...And that's why Kobe is the MVP this year? :) He's no Dr. J, but come on let's give credit where credit is due! anton619 06-01-2008, 05:56 AM It's gonna be best offense (LA) vs best defense (Boston) jonnym 06-01-2008, 09:12 AM Celtics have a better chance of success for sure. lsara3699 06-01-2008, 09:40 AM I want the Celts, but I'm not sure... I guess it all depends if we play like the regular season. 22's! Son 06-02-2008, 12:22 PM best finals in so long lakers will dominate... razz 06-06-2008, 01:22 AM ...And that's why Kobe is the MVP this year? :) He's no Dr. J, but come on let's give credit where credit is due! I think he's better than Dr. J And Lakers LOST, NOoooooooooooooooooooooooo Madison 06-06-2008, 01:36 AM I think he's better than Dr. J And Lakers LOST, NOoooooooooooooooooooooooo Better than Dr. J? I guess time will tell. :icon_wink That sucked so badly, it was the dang rebounding that screwed them over. :( anton619 06-06-2008, 07:38 AM Celtics won! :icon_clap Noj 06-06-2008, 09:48 AM Lakers have to make shots if they expect to win. Too many shots rattled out, plus they shot a poor percentage from the free throw line. That's a recipe for losing on the road. Celtics look strong. 22's! Son 06-06-2008, 09:24 PM after game 1 celtics are looking really good i could care less who wins really, because either kobe gets his first ring without shaq or kg,allen, and pierce get their first ring... so it's a win win if celtics continue to shut kobe down, the lakers have no chance... but.... i just don't see that happening razz 06-18-2008, 10:48 PM Congrats Celtics :) Noj 06-18-2008, 10:50 PM Yeah, congratulations Celtics fans! Madison 06-18-2008, 10:57 PM I'll third that...Congrats, they played well and totally deserved it. :) Enigmatic 06-18-2008, 11:57 PM Celtics won, but what do you expect? 3 star players > Kobe, and they have great defensive game. Ibanez 06-19-2008, 04:12 PM I wanted them to win cause Kobe is an *******. He suppose to be on a guy and when he made the 3 he started yelling at his team mate who was on the other side of the court. razz 06-19-2008, 07:09 PM ^ Is there a video? Why wasn't Kobe on the other side? Ibanez 06-19-2008, 08:09 PM ^ Is there a video? Why wasn't Kobe on the other side? Theres bound to be on youtube but Kobe was near the guy. The other guy had the ball and a Laker's player was on, he passes the ball to the behind Kobe (Kobe had his back to him) he shoots and makes a 3 pointer and Kobe goes off on his team mate. I mean come on, its his fault he should have been on his own guy and not blame it for someone on the otherside of the court. Plus Kobe thinks he has to take 90% of the teams shots, and when he doesn't get the ball for a while he gets mad, then he gets ball and pretty much tries to go in the middle through the entire other team to score. Theres a reason he hasn't won the champs without Shaq, he at least passed him the ball. razz 06-20-2008, 12:59 AM ^ I disagree. Kobe is the best player in the NBA & the world, and I doubt he's a ballhog. I don't know of many ballhogs that average nearly 6 assists per game (both season + playoffs)...considering the fact that someone like Steve Nash generates under 8 assists per game and less than half the points... Kobe isn't the best basketball player, Lebron James has done more then Kobe has. James is said to be the next Jordan! But you see Nash plays smart he looks for team mates first and if noone is open he looks to create a shot for himself so duh he wouldn't have as much points. Lets see 2 team mates are wide open and I mean WIDE open, I could make the shot. Whats happens Kobe MISSES and losses the game for his team. Ball hog! sqcgy6xLrEM I'll find more videos later. razz 06-20-2008, 01:34 AM Kobe isn't the best basketball player, Lebron James has done more then Kobe has. lol? Was that a joke? Kobe has what, 3 rings? And an MVP? And Lebron has what again? James is said to be the next Jordan! According to whom? And why would you want to the next Jordan when you can be better than him? But you see Nash plays smart he looks for team mates first and if noone is open he looks to create a shot for himself so duh he wouldn't have as much points. Then why do they both have almost equivalent assists? Lets see 2 team mates are wide open and I mean WIDE open, I could make the shot. Whats happens Kobe MISSES and losses the game for his team. Ball hog! sqcgy6xLrEM I'll find more videos later. Think about this for a moment because it was something I didn't do when I use to call Kobe a ball hog. If you're with a group of 5 friends and one of them happens to be a mixed martial artist, while the others are amateur Taekwondo students which person would you recommend defend the group in case of a fight? Would you call the MMA'er a "person who hogs up all the fights for himself and doesn't give anyone else a chance to shine" ? The point is this, who would he have passed to in previous seasons? The Lakers were absolutely sh*t and as a result you must rely on your key player. The reason he shot so much was because HE WAS THE TEAM - the other players sucked ass and couldn't do anything for themselves. Once they brought Gasol in (a capable player) then he involved the team. The fact is this, whether or not you like Kobe is not the question, he is the best player in the world and I feel anyone who degrades him is just jealous and doesn't understand basketball. Yeah Kobe has more rings but James is still young but has more raw talent then Kobe hands down. You can be a terrible player but with a good team you can get a ring (like the some of the Bulls players when Jordan played. People that never stepped on the court got a ring cause Jordan, Pipen, Grant, and Rodman was on their team). What does James have so far. Well since his draft in 2003 James has done this.........SO FAR NBA Eastern Conference Champion with the Cavaliers: 2007 The Sporting News Co-MVP: 2006 2-time NBA All-Star Game MVP: 2006 and 2008 NBA Rookie of the Year: 2004 4-time NBA All-Star: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 4-time All-NBA: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 NBA regular season leader, points per game: 2008 (30.0).[ NBA regular season leader, field goals made: 2005 (795), 2008 (794) NBA regular season leader, minutes played: 2005 (3,388), 2007 (3,190) NBA regular season leader, traditional three-point plays: 2006 (79).[ -One of three players in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in their rookie season. Others are Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan -One of five players in NBA history to average over 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in a season. Others are Oscar Robertson (achieved this six times), John Havlicek (achieved this twice), Larry Bird, and Michael Jordan -One of four players in NBA history to average at least 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in a season. Others are Oscar Robertson (achieved this twice), Jerry West, and Michael Jordan -One of three players in NBA history to record a triple-double in their playoff debut. -2nd place all-time for consecutive 20-point games to start a playoff career with 19. -Most consecutive points scored for a team in a playoff game with 24 straight points. Youngest player to be named NBA Rookie of the Year (19 years of age). Youngest player to record a triple-double (20 years, 20 days) Youngest player to score 40 points in a game (19 years, 88 days) Youngest player to score 50 points in a game (20 years, 80 days) Youngest player to score 2,000 points in a season (2004-05) Youngest player to average 30 points per game in a season (2005-06) Youngest player to be awarded All-NBA honors (2004-05) Youngest player to be named to the All-NBA first team (21 years, 138 days) Youngest player to win an All-Star Game MVP (21 years, 55 days) Youngest Player to reach every thousand mark from 1,000 to 10,000 LeBron James holds or shares 49 Cleveland Cavaliers franchise records as well. Now if thats not the next Jordan stats then what is having a ring? Hes 23 he still has tons of years left to go and I have a gut feeling he'll get that ring soon! I have a feeling that before James calls it quits people will be saying "I want to be next James" instead of I want to be like Mike. For the last part what does fighting have to do with basketball? But Kobe is a ball hog, he has to get the ball more times then anyone else on the team (yes its a fact) http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/thecrawf/15027/ http://wisinsider.blogspot.com/2008/05/kobe-faker-or-ballhog.html Kobe has more rings but he won't win another if he keeps on trying to do everything himself. He got a 3 rings with Shaq who he was sharing the light with him till his ego started acting up, basketball is a team sport, see how Shaq and Wade won the title? Team work, Jordan and Scottie team work, noone wins titles on their own they only blow chances at winning. If you still want to have Kobe as your golden boy then go ahead and do it but to me untill he gets his attitude under control and learns to play as a team player more hes always going to be the black sheep. Noj 06-20-2008, 10:32 AM The Lakers only made it to the Finals this year because Kobe had good enough teammates to get there in the extremely competitive Western Conference. The Lakers were adept at sharing the ball after getting the versatile Pau Gasol to run the post. To say Kobe was a ballhog in the past might be somewhat accurate, but he had awful teammates who proved over and over again that they couldn't knock down shots when they needed to. In the years since Shaq left the Lakers were virtually Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, and an NBDL team. Now that Kobe has solid teammates, he shares the ball because he knows the other guys will step up and make shots. I watch the Lakers just about every game, every year, and have done so for all of Kobe's career. There's a lot of people who hate Kobe, so they love to hype up anything negative about Kobe. He took his young team to the Finals this year in the tightest Western Conference race in NBA history, and lost to a Celtics team with three perennial all-stars, stacked with veterans and shooters. No shame there. No one wins without having the team to get the job done. Not Jordan. Not Kobe. Not LeBron. The Cleveland Cavaliers better get LeBron some help if you think he's going to win a ring any time soon. He's an oustanding talent and a different player than Kobe Bryant. LeBron is a much more natural passer, a point forward of sorts. Kobe's a scoring machine. Neither one will surpass Michael Jordan, who was the baddest man to ever step on the court. razz 06-21-2008, 03:04 AM Lebron is good, but he isn't better than Kobe Bryant and nearly every basketball analyst agrees with this. How can anyone who watches basketball honestly believe that Lebron James is better than Kobe Bryant in terms of basketball talent? And it always comes from people who don't understand the game of basketball... Hl_HbwnjHLI WSsi2NayD6o ^^ Thanks Lebron Kobe has more rings but he won't win another if he keeps on trying to do everything himself. Dude, how can you do "everything yourself" and still manage to get 6 assists per game? He is a changed player in recent years and you're still ignoring the fact that his teammates were horrendously sh*t and couldn't score on their own. If you've watched the Lakers as much as I have you'll know that one thing THEY constantly did was GIVE HIM THE BALL, and for a good reason. He got a 3 rings with Shaq who he was sharing the light with him till his ego started acting up, basketball is a team sport, see how Shaq and Wade won the title? Team work, Jordan and Scottie team work, noone wins titles on their own they only blow chances at winning. Shaq couldn't do it without Kobe and Kobe couldn't do it without Shaq. You can't say that one person was responsible for the championships, if that's the case then why didn't Shaq win with Orlando? And if you watched the finals between Miami & Dallas, you'll know the ultimate reason they won was because of Dwyane Wade. If you still want to have Kobe as your golden boy then go ahead and do it but to me untill he gets his attitude under control and learns to play as a team player more hes always going to be the black sheep. Again, he has changed, you just happened to miss this season and are going on preconceived notions. We get it, he hogged the ball... ...just as Michael Jordan hogged the ball, right? He averaged less assists than Kobe... |
