Hey guys, there's a good chance I'll be moving to Chicago sometime in the next year to attend Columbia College. I was just wondering how the skate scene up there is, where are some well known spots, and whatever else you want to throw in about the town.

Well we have two parks... One is Burnham which was kind of like a construction experiment and the other Wilson which is a decent skatepark. Columbia is pretty close to tons of awesome downtown spots. But the key is to not get caught. Do you think you'll be staying in the city or the burbs?

I ride my bike the 5 miles there about 4 times a week. I had tagged it about 3 times but the park district repaints it almost immediately.

There's a skatepark in Grant park which is very close to Columbia, it's sort of a street plaza set up. There are some rather famous street spots close by too but they're pretty much all a bust, I'm too old for that kind of thing but you're not! Wilson is up Lakeshore drive a bit, if you have a bicycle you can take the lakefront path all the way there(about 6 miles). The winter is going to suck for you, big time, I can't even begin to convey the paralyzing winters in Chicago. In February you'll understand. If you hook up with people with cars there are some good indoor parks but they're far, an hour in the car each way is well worth it when it's 15 degrees outside and ice covered.

I haven't been there but I'm pretty sure it's just North of Roosevelt on Columbus where the tennis courts used to be, West side of the street set pretty far off the street. Like 2 blocks from the many Columbia buildings.

here it is, I knew I could find some footage:

I can see it on google maps but they said in the Columbia chronicle that it doesn't open until September 30th.
