so in the picture, it looks like the nose and tail are very different shaped and of different sizes. is it actually like that once you get it? or is that just a bad picture?

Most boards nowadays have an actual nose and tail. The nose tends
to be steeper and longer. I have no idea about what board you're talking
about. I assume that it's this one.

Bigger noses help make nollie tricks easier, that's my theory as to why they make the nose/tail differnet sizes.
