View Full Version : Doing tricks while at a fast speed
SOADsk8er 06-01-2008, 04:56 PM What is a good way to do flips tricks/ any trick at a fast speed? I want to be able to do k-flips, heel flips, and varials at a reasonable speed before i move onto something else so i feel more comfortable with them.
any tips or anything i should know?
grandhustle 06-01-2008, 05:05 PM commitment. if you commit 100% when you go fast, chances are, you'll land them (provided that your stationary heels varials and k's are consistant)
kr3wdude59 06-01-2008, 05:07 PM Commit and the faster you go the more likely you are to catch it.
Quagmire 06-01-2008, 05:10 PM If you have your trick consistant i find it helps to just focus on the catch.
SOADsk8er 06-01-2008, 05:20 PM yea usually when i try to do kickflips when i go fast il end up landing in a raildtand which sucks
MysterySk8er3 06-01-2008, 05:35 PM Try do the tricks while gradually getting faster. Don't try and go real fast right of the bat. Just push off a few times and do the trick then get it consistant and when you feel comfertable with it try pushing off a few more times. Another thing is just commit to what you are doing. This seemed to help me a bit. Good luck.
SOADsk8er 06-01-2008, 05:49 PM ehh i can't skate today my feet kill from an 8-mile bike ride.. ill do it tommorow
sk8rz_4_life 06-02-2008, 02:42 AM once you get them extreamly consistent without moving then you should be good just try faster and faster until boom kickflip 50 inches accross haha!

Kickerflip55 06-02-2008, 04:51 AM Yeah, just get comfortable at medium pace, then gradually build up. Really, it's all commitment and I find that I can only do tricks while going really fast when I'm really pumped. Clean, high kickflips going really fast are the best feeling ever
xXSkater14Xx 06-02-2008, 08:27 AM Doing tricks at fast speeds scare the crap out of me, if i'm going real fast.
But just keep doing them, then gradually start trying them faster.
Sk8r07 06-05-2008, 10:40 AM i have the same problem but my xtreme problem is im afraid to land it cause i dont want to land it into a manual and break my arm. any tips for me?
505088K 06-06-2008, 04:08 PM 180s are good on high speed.
remixa 06-17-2008, 08:54 PM i agree, as long as you get the full 180 rotation or you go bye bye :]
ISkateZero 06-17-2008, 08:56 PM I can't go fast when I do my tricks or.. fail.
Try gradually increasing your speed and doing the trick.
tres all day 06-21-2008, 10:15 PM yea just gradually build up your speed
ForumSkater 06-25-2008, 01:33 AM Yeah, I've been wondering this too, and I agree with everyone else, just go gradually increasing speed.

Nice! That's what you gotta do....grow some balls kids!
When I was a kid, I was the one skating as fast as I could. It's so much more fun to skate fast. Especially if you're in a line. The less you have to push, the sicker you are.
