View Full Version : Sum 41
cha-BANG 06-04-2008, 06:05 PM anyone here like them? they seem to write semi-depressing-ish songs, but i think they're good :) anyone else?
guitar work is good, their drumming is crazy hard, i struggle on most of it haha
drtbk933 06-04-2008, 06:08 PM I like them. Their older stuff is better, but I like their new style, too. Hoping to see them this summer.
cha-BANG 06-04-2008, 06:26 PM right on dude! hey you live in Pa, i'm in NH not far from there, so if they come around here, we'll probly see the same concert :icon_pelv
drtbk933 06-04-2008, 06:27 PM That'd be cool.
patosk8 06-04-2008, 08:32 PM Yeaaaaaaaah i really like summ :)
They have very good songs. Best cd's for me are Underclass & Chuck
pooldogfromoz 06-05-2008, 07:08 AM Underclass Hero and Chuck were by far their worst albums.
I love them. Saw 'em last Summer! Awesome crazy gig. Although I gotta disagree again, their drumming isn't that hard. It's just plain fast pop punk. Some of it's fast, and he Stevo moves alot of air on his fills but it's all pretty easy stuff.
If you want hard drumming try some Jazz. Metal pales by comparison.
Pathtek4 06-05-2008, 07:27 AM I wouldn't mind seeing them in concert. Can't say I ''LOVE'' them, but hey, they have some catchy tunes ;)
I love old Sum41, but after Chuck I kinda lost interest in their sound. If they played a gig with only their older stuff, I'd go see them for sure.
swordman540 06-05-2008, 07:48 AM All Killer No Filler and Does This Look Infected? were the best. Half an hour of power was okayish, but those 2 albums i mentioned earlier just simply rocked.
Underclass Hero sucked. That's the last time I ever paid for music :(
rekees 06-05-2008, 08:27 AM yea. sept i only lsiten to one of their songs.. the hell song.. and thats cause i saw american pie 2.
imdesigner 06-05-2008, 08:45 AM i bought the all killer no filler record when it came out, i quite liked it but im not really into them anymore.
swordman540 06-05-2008, 08:57 AM To all newbies I recommend:
Fat Lip
Still Waiting
Makes No Difference
Over My Head
Pieces (even if its in Chuck, it's worth a listen)
In Too Deep
Motivation
Handle This
No Brains
Elemental106 06-05-2008, 05:50 PM I liked Sum41 old school, I'm not so sure of their new stuff now. Fat Lip was a very good song.
They remind me of Blink182, which is one of my favorites. Bands just don't get as good as they were then.
Minihub 06-05-2008, 05:54 PM All Killer No Filler = Exactly what it says on the tin. I went to see them a couple months ago, amazing. Pity the old guitarist left though. You guys are right though they peaked a while back.
cha-BANG 06-05-2008, 07:11 PM fave songs
fat lip
no reason
still waiting
over my head
LOVE those songs! and i was surprised that this thing got 13 replies haha
favorite songs by them?
Randomd00d 06-05-2008, 07:14 PM they're a bit too 'whiny' for me... lol
John-Yon 06-05-2008, 07:22 PM dude Sum 41 has been around for a looooooong time. i love their old stuff, but i feel like their new stuff is getting a bit depressing, but they still rock. prob one of the most famouse punks bands. Deff in the top ten. probably # 1 would be sex pistols, but id say there #5 maybe
kaylaaiken 06-07-2008, 04:37 PM All killer no filler is my favorite. I used to love em but i haven't really listened to em for awhile... To itunes!
Minihub 06-07-2008, 05:04 PM All killer no filler is my favorite. I used to love em but i haven't really listened to em for awhile... To itunes!
The new album isn't quite as unique as they've been in the past, but I'd recommend Underclass Hero, Walking Distaster and Confusion And Frustration In Modern Times.
Shadowskater 06-07-2008, 05:08 PM I like some of there old stuff but not much on the new stuff.
