I really want a Fender Telecaster. Is this a good one and is the website reliable?

Also, I'm completely lost on amps. Could someone recommend a decent one? It doesn't have to be what professionals use, just something that's reasonably priced and performs well.

thats' probably the most reliable website to buy instruments and stuff from.

that's a pretty nice guitar and theres no point in buying a hella nice guitar for your first guitar anyway. all fenders are pretty nice

crate, marshall, and line6 all make nice amps

if i were you, i'd go to a music store and try out a few guitars. a telecaster's a bit expensive, isnt it? my first guitar was one of those squire stratocaster+amp combo packs, and it was only 200 dollars. so if you lose interest in playing guitar, its not much of a loss compared to a 400 dollar guitar and a 300 dollar amp.

...but if you've got a disposable income, i'd say go for that telecaster, and maybe a vox 30 watt amp. those are nice.

That's a solid guitar, and Musiciansfriend is great if you're down with department music stores. Line6, Marshall, Crate, and Fender all make great amps.

Im not really sure but i know that if you want the more heavy metal stuff, your gonna need a distortion pedal. That what im getting later on in the summer some time. Im getting a guitar amp and distortion pedal.

I've bought from Musicians Friend countless times. They are great, and the item usually arrives within 5 days. My last order, I ordered knobs for my bass and a strap, and they got there in 3 days, I think.

It'll probably be a bit longer for a guitar and amp, as those are much bigger.

They are really reliable, and I've not been able to beat their prices.

As for the guitar, I'd buy something a bit cheaper for your first.
But its up to you.

id agree on buying something cheaper because you never know if you are really going to stick with it. my parents bought me one of those really gay combo packs from like walmart for my first guitar and i hated them for it. but now i think it was smart because if they had bought me a really expensive guitar and i would have stopped playing, that would have been a waste of money. now that ive been playing for 3 years i now have 2 guitars and i sold that walmart one to a friend for like 20 bucks.

I never used that site I always use zzounds cause most of the people do good reviews and are musicians in their own right. But I would go for that guitar as my first one you should get a bundle it comes with a guitar thats food for beginners and normally has a decent amp thrown in.

if i were you i would either get something like a squier starter package, something like this:http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Squier-Stop-Dreaming-Start-Playing-Affinity-Strat-HSS-Pack-With-Fender-Frontman-15G-Amp?sku=513288

but if you really want to get that tele then go for it - they are really nice guitars, ive played a couple over the years and ive liked every single one. if you need an amp then you might want to try fender, line 6 or marshall. i play through a line 6 spider II 30 watt, its quite a nice amp. you can get a wide variety of stuff from it.
