I can do shuvits cleanly and consistently. But my problem is that sometimes when I try to do them it starts flipping and I land in a heelside rail. This is fine if I'm going slow because sometimes it doesn't go into it too much and it will just fall back down or I just push it away and jump off. But if I am going fast, it scares me to do a shuvit, because I'm afraid it will start flipping, and it hurts if you fall off a heelside rail from a shuvit trust me (happened a lot before). Btw, don't know why it's flipping. So any reasons and or suggestions to prevent this would be nice.

your probably hitting the side of the board causing it to flip. just pop it nice and easy let it float, catch it and roll away.

What do you mean I'm hitting the board. You mean with like my front foot (I shuvit and my front foot kind of flicks?)? Or do you mean my backfoot (o.O)?

like somehow when you are trying to pop the board your front foot gets in the way of the spin making it flip. look at the shuvit in my sig. as you can see my back foot pops it and my front foot gets out of the way but stays over it to make the catch

Wait, do you think I mean pop shuvits? o.O I'm talking about normal shuvits. And theres no real pop to them.

o i didnt know that haha. isnt the difference between just plain shuvits and pop shuvits that one just kinda spins on the ground and one you actually pop it?

If that is happening then you are over flicking the shov.

my advice would be to put your toes more in the middle of the tail rather than over the side, that way you won't really scoop it sideways. if you want to really pop them, you dont really SCOOP much anyway, you just pop HARD and "sorta" scoop it

good luck dude!

Yea, I started doing that at my friends house. I don't put my foot over the edge, I just kind of leave my toes a little in front of the edge of the tail so I can scoop it up where it starts flipping. Doesn't really matter with pop shuvits though because I'm in the air more and I can just kind of move my legs. Normal shuvits are a lot faster moving so it's harder to move your legs while doing them, plus you really have to shuv. Pop shuvits just kind of a nice hard pop with a very tiny scoop.

just pop hard. try not to scoop so much.

When i learned shuv its it put me feet like opposite of each other..http://i25.tinypic.com/2w38cag.jpg like that. it helped me keep it in one spot not shift over..

Nice drawing :P That doesn't really help because first off, I already know shuvits, and that foot placement causes problems because when I start hopping up and scooping, since my toe is on the concave, it flicks it up and it starts flipping.
