I love Streetlight.
Really great ska music.
Everything Went Numb is their best album, IMO.

yeah Everything Went Numb is probably the best of em. i like how the singer sings so fast but its still really clear and easy to understand.

I dont know how you can really say one album is better than another, they all sound exactly the same. No progression between albums even thought the second took 5 years to make. I would much rather listen to Keasby Nights from Catch 22 any way. Streetlight albums are too polished for my taste.

Haha, first time I've heard streetlight called polished. But it's what you're into, I suppose.

Polished?

Hahaha, they have gotta be the one of the most raw ska band ever.

haha ive seen them live. i must say that was up there for the best hours of my life. but i have to disagree with GNAR on the aspect that i dont think everything went numb was their best album. i think somewhere in the between is. its one of those albums where you dont mind listening to it all the way through without skipping tracks. i dont find the same quality in everything went numb. but i must say a better place, a better time was amazing live.

Listen to the streetlight version of Keasby Nights, then listen to the Catch 22 version, then you may see what I am talking about.

They were kids in Catch. They've progressed a lot musically, and I think their new album does show that. It doesn't sound polished, it sounds professional. Tom writes amazing lyrics, and the music is nothing short of amazing too.

They are in my top 3 favorite bands, and they are simply amazing.

I am not saying they are not skilled musicitions, just saying they dont seem to have evolved much in song writting. All of the songs on the new album could have been written as a follow up to Keasby Nights from 1998, rather than an album from 2008.

Plus the records loose a lot of the charactor of an agressive and emotional album(which I asumme they are try to get) by mixing in a way that sounds so over produced, and clean. Catch 22's Keasby Nights sounds so much better, because its rawer.

I don't think it lost it's emotion and character by their mixing. To me, it doesn't really sound over produced. The songs still impact me, and the lyrics are still as moving.
