I know the answer seems obvious. But, there is a HUGE difference in prices...

At first, I was planning on buying a used VX2000, but my parents, who are helping me buy it, said that they'd rather have me buy a brand new one, because of the risk of a used one not working. I'm really considering the VX2100, because it is pretty much the best there is, right? At least the best consumer camera. But at the same time, I really think the GL2 would be just as great, because of its zoom capabilities and many other things.

I'd Get the Canon, Unless you are really good or you wanna become and filmer and film really good people then the VX2100. I would go with the Canon because its good and less money and im not that good.

I just like GL2's more than Vx's and also im pretty sure the VX is a prosumer cam...

both cameras are really good. both are actually in the prosumer category.

vx is the better choice.

yeah it costs more, but i think you will be more than happy with it.

after you get a camera, dont forget to put insurance on it, accidents happen!!!

the gay thing about GL's is the colours...they look horrible in my opinion. Can't compete with Sony's Colours. But it'd be better if you find either a Sony VX2000 with a Mk2 <<<< lovely lens flare!! or a Sony VX1000 with an Mk1<<<<<widest angle you'd ever get.

vx1000 mk1 is the ultimate in skateboard videography

The Sony is better in low light situations. I have a Canon GL1 and love it but the Sony is a better camera.

:icon_bs: well about the colors at least, the GL2 can give "good" colors, good colors doesn't always equal "golden".

cannon gl2s parts break very easily and the lcd dies fast

well i guess that is how it works. I mean VX1000 BEAST love it. But I've never used a DVX so i have no right to judge but still DVX is still technically better than VX and GL eww i've seen colors on the thing in I hate it.
