View Full Version : Build your own spots? But how? Have FUN? Cure for DepRESSION?Read here
blankboard42 06-09-2008, 08:14 PM I am a very angry teenager who wishes to skate good spots but have none around me. So what do I do? I built my own 4 stair with materials from Home Depot .. I mean Lowes (Home Depot Employees suck) It cost around 120 dollars and I posted it here a few months ago. It Hasnt been going to well. I need to support it alot still and the only tricks that have been accomplished down it are an ollie and frontside shuvit. I have broken 3 decks on it in 1 month and I am definitely waiting till i have some more casharooni to fix it. But then what do i do? I get creative. I put a landing up To the side of the stairs and a runway to that. I make myself my own wallride/ mini bank thing. I learned a ****load of wallride tricks for when I actually find one. Then i got bored with that. So i take my box and set it up with a flat piece of wood on both sides for a runway. Sure it may be hard to skate and one wrong move means muddy griptape but its a chance I autta take. Then I get pissed off with my feet getting muddy so I attempt many other things and havent had sucess yet but when you guys complain about having no spots think again and go outside search through that old scrap wood. Grab that old computer case from 1998 and grind the hell outta it. Go down to your nearest dump and find a old desk to skate on. Skateboarding is about being creative. And having fun while being creative is what skateboarding is all about.
ZephyrGod 06-09-2008, 08:19 PM I hear you man. Back when i lived in the middle of no where i used to make full on ghetto ramps out of old plywood and crates. I also had an old piece of metal which i grinded and stuff. Those were the days...
Adam Walker 06-09-2008, 08:22 PM Hell yeah Blank!! That's the way! You're one of those dudes that soon will be able to afford to do a little travelling. And because you've been training on obscure, hard to ride skate obstacles, you'll go to a wicked smooth park and absolutely tear it to shreads because it will be so easy for you to skate!
This is pure skaters pro-action at it's best! Listen to this man - he knows what he is talking about.
Hmmmmm, now that I think about it, I do have an old laptop I could salad on....

zeroordie13452 06-09-2008, 09:23 PM haha man, ill have to put a pic up of me and my friends table top/funbox we made haha **** is soooo ghetto, and steep, and sketchy, but sooo much fun to skate
blankboard42 06-09-2008, 09:31 PM Yeah ill film some stuff soon i just need to build some more stuff, stabilize the ramp, and then have my closest skating friends, 1 hr away, to come skate! :(
soofadude 06-09-2008, 09:35 PM I am going to build a whole skatepark in my back yard and hopefully I will get better from skating every day. At the moment I just have a quarter pipe that is homemade and a bunch of planks leading to a three stair.

kflip2curbstomp 06-10-2008, 01:40 AM like a year ago me and my friend needed something to skate so we snuck into a construction site grabbed some wood loaded it onto our skateboards and rolled it home.
TemperMode 06-10-2008, 03:01 AM Ah hell, I once made a ledge out of a dead cat, some disposable forks and a bottle of whiskey. No wait, that was breakfast... Who are you and what are you doing in my kitchen?
evanGR 06-10-2008, 03:29 AM how about hitting a skatepark?

POUNSTER 06-10-2008, 04:03 PM i have a school 2 blocks away from me. so thats aight. but nothing beats going 3 feet into our backyard getting some wood and making a 4 inch manny pad
dude yeah what i did was since where i live there like is just grass around my house and not pavement, i took 2 peices of plywood and set them up so i could make gaps and ledges out of the different levels of grass and stuff around my house. It was really fun
Newbed 06-10-2008, 07:36 PM Was I the only one who got lost halfway through his post?
