Same exact post ^^ zeroordie13452 06-09-2008, 09:00 PM frontside NST 06-09-2008, 09:02 PM It's a horrible frontside. yeah thanks. arejayismyname 06-09-2008, 09:06 PM front to the side dawwgggg Casper10 06-09-2008, 09:22 PM Since no one cares to explain I will. When you are doing any type of slide and you turn frontside instead of being called a frontside boardslide it would be called a backside boardslide and vice versa.ツ guitarkid7 06-09-2008, 09:26 PM Since no one cares to explain I will. When you are doing any type of slide and you turn frontside instead of being called a frontside boardslide it would be called a backside boardslide and vice versa.ツ What? Lol. On a rail or ledge, if you roll up FACING the rail, with the FRONT of your body towards it, its frontside. If you roll up with your BACK to it, its backside. Then nollie is switched, and halfcabs to boardslides are called lipslides etc. NativeSkater 06-09-2008, 09:32 PM Since no one cares to explain I will. When you are doing any type of slide and you turn frontside instead of being called a frontside boardslide it would be called a backside boardslide and vice versa.ツWhich makes it frontside. So there's no need to explain. moises.I. 06-09-2008, 09:37 PM everyone i know including me would say thats a bs boardslide. NativeSkater 06-09-2008, 09:39 PM everyone i know including me would say thats a bs boardslide. Those seven months didn't really pay off. SkateThrash 06-09-2008, 09:39 PM everyone i know including me would say thats a bs boardslide. Well you and everyone you know are dumb. :) rzm61 06-09-2008, 09:40 PM everyone i know including me would say thats a bs boardslide. It's front. They turned with their toes, not their heels. That's how it was explained to me. Also the way you turn your shoulders. NST 06-09-2008, 09:41 PM haha skatethrash.. yeah i was pretty sure it was fs but everyone on youtube was saying it was bs. jakedaskater 06-09-2008, 09:44 PM that was a boardslide? SkateThrash 06-09-2008, 09:44 PM Don't listen to them. it's FS :) NST 06-09-2008, 09:46 PM that was a boardslide? haha yeah.. ive got them a lot better now though. ill post footy when my cam gets fixed. Daniel Jones 06-09-2008, 09:46 PM It's actually different depending on where you live, from what I can tell. But generally, yeah, that's frontside. POUNSTER 06-09-2008, 10:24 PM bs. like your doing a bs 180. not frontside like a fs 180 lilro 06-09-2008, 10:26 PM What? Lol. On a rail or ledge, if you roll up FACING the rail, with the FRONT of your body towards it, its frontside. If you roll up with your BACK to it, its backside. Then nollie is switched, and halfcabs to boardslides are called lipslides etc. nollie doesnt get switced for grinds, only spins....and you dont have to ride fakie for lipslides but here's a confusing thing. say the rail is behind you as you are riding up...if you nollie and your front wheels go over the rail its a boardslide....and a lipslide is when your back truck goes over the rail...wether it be fakie, nollie, switch, etc. with fakie, your back truck is the truck that is rolling in the front...like the popping side, if that makes any sense. 2h2skater 06-09-2008, 10:40 PM its frontside jakedaskater 06-09-2008, 10:44 PM oh, that would be purpleside PS Boardslide it was frontside loose bolts 06-10-2008, 01:10 AM thats backside people, because she is turning towards her back heel NativeSkater 06-10-2008, 01:29 AM thats backside people, because she is turning towards her back heelThe term frontside was first used in surfing. When the front of their body turned towards the wave or and in this case obstacle, it was called frontside, and with the back of their body, backside. And since skateboarding came from surfing, they applied that to it. So when you're grinding or sliding, that's the principle. MRCK 06-10-2008, 04:07 AM Frontside, and whoever disagrees is wrong. 7evenUp 06-10-2008, 05:07 AM everyone i know including me would say thats a bs boardslide. too bad youre all wrong. swordman540 06-10-2008, 06:00 AM It's a frontside. MRCK, I'm gonna use your example to explain. You see, people used to do verts, and FS 50-50 was when their bodys were facing out to the rail. BS was when their back was facing the rail. So FS boardslide would be when your front faces the RAIL, not facing the direction you're going, and bs would be when your back faces the rail. Kinda hard to get, trust me, but after a while, you'll understand like me :D Okay, next time, MRCK, you're doing the explaining. I suck at this :( guitarkid7 06-10-2008, 06:28 AM nollie doesnt get switced for grinds, only spins....and you dont have to ride fakie for lipslides but here's a confusing thing. say the rail is behind you as you are riding up...if you nollie and your front wheels go over the rail its a boardslide....and a lipslide is when your back truck goes over the rail...wether it be fakie, nollie, switch, etc. with fakie, your back truck is the truck that is rolling in the front...like the popping side, if that makes any sense. Yeah, I know what a lipslide is, but isn't it called a lipslide when you do a nollie 180 or halfcab onto the rail, even though it looks like a boardslide? nervous 06-10-2008, 07:03 AM thats a frontside groundscrape phlap 06-10-2008, 07:10 AM Since no one cares to explain I will. When you are doing any type of slide and you turn frontside instead of being called a frontside boardslide it would be called a backside boardslide and vice versa.ツ No. If you approach heelside it's BS, whereas if you approach toeside it's FS, it has nothing to do with the way you turn, it's one of the few things the Tony Hawk series got right. You see, people used to do verts... Used to do vert? Vert's alive and kicking son! EDIT: well, alive anyway... swordman540 06-10-2008, 07:12 AM Correction: When vert was very popular and grinds were mainly performed on the coping of the vert. There ya go ;) Sorry about it :( phlap 06-10-2008, 07:13 AM Correction: When vert was very popular and grinds were mainly performed on the coping of the vert. There ya go ;) Sorry about it :( Heheh, no problem! MRCK 06-10-2008, 07:23 AM Yeah, I know what a lipslide is, but isn't it called a lipslide when you do a nollie 180 or halfcab onto the rail, even though it looks like a boardslide? I'll just use a random YouTube video for this one : http://youtube.com/watch?v=FGUFtYYDW5o That's a nollie lipslide. But if the skater had been goofy it would have been a fakie boardslide. Why ? Nollie : nose ollie, it's just like a regular ollie popped off the nose, so basically, nothing changes, it's like a regular ollie lipslide except that you pop off the nose instead of the tail before locking into it. Fakie : riding backwards - if the skater had been goofy he would be doing the same thing as a regular f/s boardslide, but going backwards. So it would be a fakie boardslide. Get it ? :) phlap 06-10-2008, 07:47 AM I'll just use a random YouTube video for this one : http://youtube.com/watch?v=FGUFtYYDW5o That's a nollie lipslide. Get it ? :) There's tonnes of evidence for this too. A Goofy skater's Nollie FS 180, looks the same as a Regular skater's BS HalfCab. When you land something backwards from tranny/bank or a slide it's called "To Fakie", not "To Switch". Eg. Rock To Fakie. Nollie is derived from regular, but Fakie is not derived from Switch... 505088K 06-10-2008, 08:12 AM frontside street skater 06-10-2008, 09:12 AM Frontside.
