I've been searching around for a good watch to wear when I'm skateboarding and one that I can wear on a daily basis. I like some of the Nixon watches and a I see a few of them at the skatepark. I've just been looking for something different and recently got a Casio G-Shock off eBay. It's the Bape series G-Shock which is pretty cool: http://www.gshockdeals.com/Watches/bathing-ape-g-shocks

The G-Shock is rugged and I definitely want to get one in another color, but wanted to see what you guys recommend for when you're both on and off your board. It can be two completely different watches, but are there any brands out there that you recommend (other than Casio and Nixon)?

Cell phone or iPod. I would wear a watch but it might get brok and I don't want to spend $150 for something that could break in ten minutes.

I normally wear an Inex watch, but I don't wear it when I skate (It's just annoying, and I don't want to break it in pieces). It's a more like a "businesslike-style", so it's not so good to skate with.

So; Non. Even though it would be perfect with an Ipod, but I don't have; so.. :)

Well.. I don't know what model it is, but I just know the brand is Relic and it costed like $60.
I wear my watch everywhere I go. So there are scratches on it and stuff.

This poses a seriously important question: what is the best functional watch for skating?

I am wearing a Vestal watch at the moment and it really sucks. I am seriously on the lookout for a decent watch that can take a beating and has a strap that doesn't get totally manky after skating for hours on end. I need it for my work.

If anyone has any suggestions....please post them here!!! I am desperate!!!!! Will pay probably $5, no $6.5-, up to $9. (nah, seriously I don't care how much it costs I just want the best)

I don't have a watch but when I served in the army I had to get one. Cost me about 10 dollars and lasted the entire year. I don't use it anymore but it's still working.

Thats what I think is funny. You blow $150 on the nicest watch you can find and it breaks the first day. Then buy a mickey mouse/mcdonalds watch and it lasts likes 9 years! I still have a working mcdonalds watch somewhere!

Haggle for fake rolex's from street hawkers. No one will ever know:icon_cigg

My watch stabs me if I fall due to some repairs I had to do a while ago, so I don't wear it skating. Put it in my bag and check it every so often.

Seriously! I had a Shrek watch I got out of a cereal box, I wore it everyday for 2 years until the battery finally wore out. But it went through some rugged times, even accidentally left it on in the shower and dropped it in the toilet a few times, haha. :p

The best watch I ever had for skating was actually a sweat band with a watch inlayed in it. It came free with a carton of Tooheys Extra Dry. It was sick. I have warn it to death...now I want another.

I know Volcom did something similar to this...and brought it out in fluoro pink...dickheads.

But please, please, if anybody knows of a seriously decent watch for skating - mainly one where the strap doesn't get too mouldy after lots of use and sweating - let me know!!!
