I want to put the call out there for anybody that knows where I can get some old school Ollie Hornz.

I know they are easy to make, but I don't have the time. I know there are plenty of other alternatives, but Ollie Hornz are cool as for what I want to use them for.

They are these plastic things that came out in the late 80s that were like bindings for a skateboard. You would attach them through your deck bolts. Best way to learn air variations on vert, heaps more fun than using a rubber tube for street. I think they got banned because lots of people used to get messed up using them.

They would not be hard to mould yourself, but I don't have the time.

I love stuff like this because I coach skating and heaps of kids that are just learning and cannot ollie would be absolutely stoked to have the chance to use them.

This goes for any novel 'training' gear that anybody knows about. Let me know. I have a sick flip training machine, and am working on a design of a free moving harness for spotting skaters learning really big air tricks on vert or over kickers.

dude you should get some soft trucks, they are the same idea as those things you are talking about. I have some myself and like them a lot. Google them to find out more.

i guess you could give "ollie busters" a try. But i always figured it would be better to learn without any of these learning aides.

ok....checked 'em out. Neither of them are anything like the Ollie Hornz. The soft trucks look cool for kids learning - thanks Troy. I'll get some of these and try them. The Ollie Buster is definately something that I would avoid at all costs! Training skating this way will seriously make you learn bad habbits, throwing your shoulders out of alignment and making you lean in ways that you wouldn't normally do on a board.

Haha, rubber tubes are so fun. Me and my mates were doing that awhile ago. We got huge f/s airs on a mini and I pulled a stalefish over a spine. I tried it again recently but it wasn't as good. I think it was mainly the fact that back then I could barely ollie. :icon_peac

So. Goddamn. Fun.

Troy!! I just wanted to say a big thanks!!

I received my Soft Truck order last week and I have to say they are killer!!! I have already helped handfuls of kids learn to ollie this week! And my kickflips are looking better too!

Thay might not be for everyone, but they were a great suggestion. Thanks again!
