rap/hip hop like NWA, lupe fiasco, the mad conductor
and some gay songs like girls just want to have fun, i know what boys like, ect.

For me, it really depends what I'm working on, if I'm just warming up or cruising around I like to play some more chill music: Bob Marley and The Wailers, Kottonmouth Kinds, Reel Big Fish, that sort of thing. When I'm drilling something to get it consistent or trying to push myself to the limits, I like to listen to more heavy types of music: All Shall Perish, Lamb Of God, Unearth, Shadows Fall, and of course Rage Against The Machine (but that just fits in any category).
To me, all that really matters is for me to enjoy the songs, so I just take my iPod and put it on shuffle, once you get going and skating you'll be concentrating too much to think about the music.
I'd say, just go ahead and listen to the music you like. If you still want some recommendations here are a few. Tool, RATM, Chronic Future, 2pac and the other bands I listed. Hope that helps.

Where do you live. I want to get some of there music but I can't find any of there songs. My friend had a couple on his iPod he got from Limewire but I don't want to use Limewire just to get songs from one band.

when i skate i kinda of vary. When i wanna get pumped i listen to bands like Bad Brains, Poison The Well, Black Flag, HORSE the Band. pretty much anything that has alot of energy. When im cruising i listen to indie-ish stuff or whatever: Arcade Fire, Explosions In The Sky, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead. It really depends what your into man
