Hey guys, I don't if there are any Radiohead fans on here, but they comprise by far my favorite band. They put IN_RAINBOWS out last year on the internet and let fans choose what they wanted to pay for it. It's been on shelves for several months now though. I downloaded it about a month ago and sort of half listened to it. This past week I actually took the time to fully listen to all 10 tracks, and today I went and bought it. I must say it truly is a phenomenal album. I think it ranks up there with Kid A and OK Computer as some of there most creative and inspired work. My favorites are:
- House of Cards
- Jigsaw Falling into Place
- Nude
- Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
If you've never listened to Radiohead before, you can't go wrong by starting with this record. Please give it a listen. I though it was nice. It feels a bit rawer than their other stuff which is good.
i love the bends and ok computer. I could listen to them anywhere.
but their later stuff requires me to sit down and listen which is a good thing.
It's very reflective music.
If there's one criticism i have of radiohead, it's that i dont think their use of electronics is tasteful. other than that they are a key band in modern music and have widened the ears of many

i hadnt really heard any radiohead before buying in rainbows, i wanted something new and everyone said it was really good so i thought id give it a try. to be honest i was really disappointed with it, cause everyone had hyped it up for me. but i talked to some people and they said i should check out their earlier stuff first - cause really the bigger fans of radiohead would really enjoy in rainbows.
if you want to check out radiohead, i would recommend checking out and earlier album first. cause you might get let down like i did.

You're right. That is a good idea for somebody new to the group and their style of music. That totally contradicts my first post, haha. I'm just really hyped on this album, but I have been a Radiohead fan for a long time and I've already been used to their style. I'd recommend The Bends for a new Radiohead listener just because it has a more straight forward rock sound. Radiohead's electronic music (from OK Computer on) is definitely not something that you can just pop in your music box and jam to. You have to give a few listens and let it grow on you.
The songs I'd recommend a new listener of the band to check out are:
- Just
- Inside my Head
- Knives Out
- The National Anthem
- and Creep (because said person may have heard it before)
I like In Rainbows, although I don't think it is as solid as Kid A or OK Computer. Def a great album, though. Can't wait to see them at Lollapalooza this summer.

Radiohead is truly an amazing band. I've recently been getting into them, found there older stuff on youtube then just followed along with the rest of their work. Their music is just incredible...soothes the heart.
Yea I love them... Great band... I have a fair bit of their songs (36) and bought My Iron Lung... I need to buy In rainbows, just to support them. I already have most/all of the In Rainbow songs...
I found their older stuff first and fell in love with it... It was alot slower and seemed to be more about mood than lyrics... Yet I love the diversity of their new stuff... And some of the fast paced songs are amazing...
Favorites...
Karma Police
Creep (Not the acoustic version...)
Talk show host
I've Seen It All (With Bjork)
Idioteque
Videotape
I could keep going, but I better stop... And sleep...
Lately I've been listening to Mount Sims... Its hmm... Like electronica... Some of the songs remind me of Interpol.... Some of it is really catchy...
