Thought it would be obvious

Stop flicking too much
or catch it earlier.

Try putting more of your foot on the board to make the board flip sloweer. That's what I did when I used to have that problem.

right on!more of your foot on the board makes it easier to flip slower/better. SOOOOOOOOOOOOo yeah, pop it good too :) just practice flicking and stomping down.

you gotta really STOMP it, bro!

One of the best ways to learn how to catch your kickflips is to think of it as an ollie, rather than a kickflip.

If you set your front foot up in the same position you would set it up for an ollie, you'll have much more board control, and the board will flip slower.

Your foot doesn't need to be halfway down the board.

Just below the bolts will work just fine.

This is a trick tip and not a "How-To" So I trust you will be able to take this advice and start catching them soon.

you'll have much more board control, and the board will flip slower.

Practice my friend, its mostly about timing and fluent movements, dont rush to catch the board. Do the pop, flick in one smooth movement, dont force the flick. After that it's all about judging and watching the board, eventually you'll figure out the timing and have an eye for catching it with ease.

DUDE LMAO I didn't even notice what I posted wow.

Watch for the bolts and then just place your feet down.

True, but your front foot should come down almost immediately after your back.

Yeah, set your front foot up more like an ollie, and do a little bit of an ollie before you kick your foot out, as it makes the board flip higher in the air, and gives you more time to catch it with your back foot.

get outside and practice
happy skating.

for higher kickflips just start out as a regular ollie motion to get it at the height you want. then when your about lift your back foot just start to flick(have your front foot on the board more but still have heel hanging off).

always have your front foot kind of under you to get it back on the board properly
