KrispyKicks 06-11-2008, 05:41 PM I dont mind him. He doesnt affect me. Hes just TH BelowtheAverage 06-11-2008, 05:42 PM I think he's over marketed. MRCK 06-11-2008, 05:50 PM Why would you dislike him ? He worked to get where he is, he deserves his status, and he contributed a lot to skateboarding. Overmarketed ? Who wouldn't like to have a skating game named after themselves ? Also I'm pretty sure that 75% of skaterscafe got into skateboarding after playing one of the THPS games. So there's no need to be hypocritical. You should actually thank him ? RIP_BOB_GNARLY 06-11-2008, 05:51 PM You are starting to get on my nerves. You are making the most n00bish threads I have ever seen. How old are you? And, how could you hate Tony Hawk? He is the best vert skater ever. arto-geoff 06-11-2008, 05:52 PM gotta agree with mrck, don't understand how you could hate the guy. if it wasnt for the tony hawk games many of you guys wouldnt be skating, i know i probably wouldnt. his biography is beast aswell if you dislike him (for whatever reason) i suggest you pick it up. zerosk8ter 06-11-2008, 06:31 PM i have nothing against him but i do think he has way to many walmart products but every one knows who he is kflip2curbstomp 06-11-2008, 06:34 PM i don't like the walmart stuff but i can't hate someone for getting paid to put there name on something. for my 7th birthday i got a walmart deck and thps... magic kk360 06-11-2008, 06:35 PM I like Tony Hawk good skater and all. He's a legend don't hate for that guys. Minihub 06-11-2008, 06:36 PM Yupp, I'm siding with MRCK here too. The man is awesome, works hard and rocks on the ramps. Plus, I wouldn't even be debateing this is not for THPS 2:icon_clap KrispyKicks 06-11-2008, 06:37 PM I think he is a swell guy. Hellview 06-11-2008, 06:38 PM Why would you dislike him ? He worked to get where he is, he deserves his status, and he contributed a lot to skateboarding. Overmarketed ? Who wouldn't like to have a skating game named after themselves ? Also I'm pretty sure that 75% of skaterscafe got into skateboarding after playing one of the THPS games. So there's no need to be hypocritical. You should actually thank him ? pretty much.. and to thread starter.. how the hell do you have so much rep? all of your posts I've seen have been worthless KrispyKicks 06-11-2008, 06:41 PM ^He only has so much rep becuase he has multiple accounts. It says so here in this quote. I only have so much rep becuase i have multiple accounts See? Hellview 06-11-2008, 06:48 PM ^He only has so much rep becuase he has multiple accounts. It says so here in this quote. See? rofl.. yeah.. I think it was his "sorry thread' then he got pity rep :P Pathtek4 06-11-2008, 06:50 PM Tony Hawk is a legend, hands down. Its ridiculous to ''hate'' the guy, or even not give him the credit he SO ''F''ing deserves! That guy got me into skateboarding WAAAYYYY back in the early 90's, and he's still doing it today! Thats legendary material right there! lareaper 06-11-2008, 07:04 PM Dude, I can see what ure sayin. A lot of kids at my skool who skate are all like "Tony Hawk is gay. He's old and overrated." But me, I love the man. Without him, skateboarding wouldn't be the same as it is... Rodney Mullen and Tony Hawk are probably the two most inspirational skaters. Ppl who think Tony Hawk is dumb are losers in my opinion. That kinda stuff is just a bunch of :icon_bs: Shorty's_Kid 06-11-2008, 07:05 PM Tony Hawk is one of the best skateboarders to ever live. Not only that, but nobody else has contributed near as much to skateboarding as he has. My 13 hours of sleep in the past 4 days is preventing me from remembering the name of the organization he started, but a thing he started donates thousands and THOUSANDS of dollars to towns without skateparks. Anybody that hates that guy doesn't know what they're talking about. There is nothing he has ever done that deserves any hate. I'd give Tony +rep. haha. AJ 06-11-2008, 07:29 PM he's a good role model. successful, good father, and he's a great skater. people don't like him now a days because he isn't great at street. but who cares? he was like a z boy going around and skating pools. i like him :) Trebor 06-11-2008, 08:36 PM hes done so much for skating that it is impossible not to at least respect him for his dedication to skateboarding he is a skating legend and innovater he is pimping flip in flip out combos he put out his first pro shoe and board he has achieved am level he has more rep suns than pathtek4 RIP_BOB_GNARLY 06-11-2008, 09:41 PM Tony Hawk is one of the best skateboarders to ever live. I'd give Tony +rep. haha. How can you not know the name of the organization? It is the Tony Hawk Foundation. He donated like eaither $150,000 or $250,000 to a neighboring town to get a skatepark, and it is one of the nicest ones in east Tennessee. MysterySk8er3 06-11-2008, 09:51 PM There is nothing wrong with hawk. He is not my favorite but there is no reason to hate. Please don't tell me Tony Hawk is the new Sheckler........ Boobies 06-11-2008, 09:52 PM this kids 11 NST 06-11-2008, 09:59 PM uh yeah i like tony hawk. he deserves to be where hes at. imagine how much time hes put into skating all his life. Casper10 06-11-2008, 10:05 PM Only posers dislike him because they think that us skaters hate him even though we all like him and give him the respect the he needs. P.S. im not calling you guys that dont like him posers. Elemental106 06-11-2008, 10:18 PM Apparently, you're the one that doesn't like Tony Hawk. I don't understand how you could just dislike the guy. He's been through so much. From super skinny kid who had a few problems with skating to an adult whom is still skinny, but not as skinny, and is amazing at vert. He hasn't done much to bring down the skating industry to make us dislike him at all, he's more like the legendary savior that helped bring skateboarding into people's eyes.hmm kinda like the Zephyr boys but he came in later with Rodney Mullen. honeymustard 06-11-2008, 10:21 PM I do. Do you like making more threads than posts? Rhetorical question! Yes; yes you do. Hellview 06-11-2008, 10:23 PM OK, i just want ur opinion. i have no bias against or towards him. just say if u like him or not. I find it a little ironic that in your profile it says you don't like him, yet you made a thread on how to get a skatepark for your city... and he has a foundation that donates thousands and thousands of dollars to build skateparks for cities that dont have them.. if I remember correctly he donated .. I wanna say 15,000 (maybe 10,000$)dollars to the duluth concrete park opening in august.. it might have been less but whatever it's still super gnarly trm4583 06-11-2008, 10:35 PM I started skating because I found my neighbor's old Powell-Peralta Tony Hawk board in his garage and started shredding on it back in 1995. Who knows where I would be if I had never found this board. Thanks Tony! Tony Hawk deserves respect from the entire skate community. If it were not for him, skateboarding might still be underground and this cafe probably would not exist. 3OH!3 06-11-2008, 10:45 PM I dont mind him. He doesnt affect me. Hes just TH you read my mind. +rep :] slothdog 06-11-2008, 10:47 PM I think he's over marketed. he has severly diluted his brand by going outside of skateboarding with it. skateboard video games and skateboard shoes, decks, wheels, thats is fine too, but when you put your name on a roller coaster ride then youve gone too far (see Tony Hawk's Big Spin Coaster (http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/news/stories/20070221_02.shtml)) and started to dilute your brand. hes a good skateboarder and i have nothing against him as a person. Casper10 06-11-2008, 10:57 PM No offfence but you are sort of a hypocrite. In the title it say who else DOESNT like Tony Hawk then in the first post you say you dont have anything against him then on your proflie you say you dont like Tony Hawk. MRCK 06-12-2008, 04:44 AM people don't like him now a days because he isn't great at street. He was actually killing it at street before you were even born : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqjHjjVrUmg (first part). I'm glad to see that the whole 'Feasters' video is on YouTube now, everyone should watch it all, it's one of the best videos I've ever seen. Willy Santos anyone ? Something I forgot to mention is that he deserves even more respect for being a skilled skateboarder running several companies, yet managing to support a family (wife and kids) at the same time. Heck, I have trouble managing my spare time for both skateboarding and my girlfriend and I'm only 20, while the guy is a hundred times more successful in everything than I will ever be. He's great. .snOWFalls. 06-12-2008, 08:22 AM I can answer this thread... NOONE standard 06-12-2008, 09:36 AM I think Tony is pretty cool. He seems way laid back and down to earth. Also, he seems like a good dad and husband. phlap 06-12-2008, 11:27 AM Tony Hawk's a legend. Sonix 06-12-2008, 11:41 AM ^Yup, he definitely is. He has done so much for skateboarding. Noj 06-12-2008, 12:04 PM I'm glad to see that the whole 'Feasters' video is on YouTube now, everyone should watch it all, it's one of the best videos I've ever seen. Willy Santos anyone? Willy Santos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hawk's street skills were more than respectable in that video. I didn't know Berra rode vert. Thanks for posting that. Siontunnicliffe 06-12-2008, 12:38 PM I like tony hawk he was the reason I skate and the reason half the people in the world skate Sk8_Alchemist 06-12-2008, 12:41 PM Why would you dislike him ? He worked to get where he is, he deserves his status, and he contributed a lot to skateboarding. Overmarketed ? Who wouldn't like to have a skating game named after themselves ? Also I'm pretty sure that 75% of skaterscafe got into skateboarding after playing one of the THPS games. So there's no need to be hypocritical. You should actually thank him ? OH YEAH. Casper10 06-12-2008, 12:47 PM Willy Santos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hawk's street skills were more than respectable in that video. I didn't know Berra rode vert. Thanks for posting that. I believe he was the first person to heelflip in a halfpipe in a comp. Ibanez 06-12-2008, 12:59 PM If you hate Tony or say hes alright then I can say pick up an old Bones movie and watch him skate vert or pool doubles with Moutain or Cab. But if it wasn't for Tony skateboarding would still be dead, and without him I wouldn't have started skateboarding when I was 5. Sk8_Alchemist 06-12-2008, 01:12 PM He was actually killing it at street before you were even born : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqjHjjVrUmg (first part). OWWWWW that was a tight part! even for nowadays LOL whats the song name? >< colorado 06-12-2008, 01:14 PM There's no reason to hate him. silentscary 06-12-2008, 01:26 PM the only thing i don't like about tony hawk is his tip trick videos... but that's just a personal thing. besides that, all the respect he has seems due. he seems very down to earth, and not at all full of himself. jon24683210 06-12-2008, 01:56 PM i think u need to stop posting dumb threads and no i dont have anything against him true hes overmarketed in the sense of how he has his own clothes line or w/e but hes an amazing skater that got to where he is by working hard for it Andrew Jay 06-12-2008, 02:21 PM When it all comes down to it. he just loves to skate. So why hate him? Sisterbaysquad 06-12-2008, 05:06 PM Ok, u all good points. u convinced me. hes cool, nvr saw ur guys point of view so thanx for changing my point of view and i would appreciate it if u stop calling me a hypocrite. twitchy_foot082 06-12-2008, 05:13 PM gotta agree with mrck, don't understand how you could hate the guy. if it wasnt for the tony hawk games many of you guys wouldnt be skating, i know i probably wouldnt. his biography is beast aswell if you dislike him (for whatever reason) i suggest you pick it up. Whats is yours called because im sure ther are a few out there. i have one. And if you hate tony hawk your a very retarded being. He basically kept the sport alive with a couple of other dudes who still believed in it when it was "Dead". If it werent for him probably none of us would even be skating. SkateMobKing 06-12-2008, 05:36 PM hes okay i guess. i dont look up to him like other pros like mullen or daewon but i wouldnt mind skating with TH he could teach me some othe things. Lifeseeker 06-12-2008, 06:24 PM If you hate Tony or say hes alright then I can say pick up an old Bones movie and watch him skate vert or pool doubles with Moutain or Cab. But if it wasn't for Tony skateboarding would still be dead, and without him I wouldn't have started skateboarding when I was 5. You all give Kudo's to Tony, which is alright. But you are forgetting the ORIGINAL skaters that made Tony who he is. JAY ADAMS, TONY ALVA, and STACEY PERALTA to just name a few. Jay started the radical moves. If you have ANYONE to thank, thank Jay Adams folks. ~L~ hmong337 06-12-2008, 06:25 PM he's way overrated... eleventytwo 06-13-2008, 12:14 AM I give Tony Hawk all my respect and props just not his birdhouse decks :D feedmegrease 06-13-2008, 04:21 AM Tony is the most innovative and inspirational skater of all time, and let that be a fact. Love him or hate him, nothing will take away what he has done for the sport. My hat is off to Mr. Hawk. Nofashionskater 06-13-2008, 04:53 AM he's way overrated... care to say why? I amThe1 inUr80 06-13-2008, 07:19 AM i like him, i dont like his games, they were good but now they just give skating a poser image, i played the new tony hawk game and felt nauciose (sp) imdesigner 06-13-2008, 07:27 AM how could you possibly hate on him? he has contributed so much to skating ISkateZero 06-13-2008, 08:38 AM Tony Hawk is amazing! trm4583 06-13-2008, 09:41 AM he's way overrated... He's not even close to overrated, he's one of the best skaters of all time and has done more for skateboarding than you will ever know. But if you wish to continue you uneducated and ignorant postings, then who am I to stop you? ShredTheGnar 06-13-2008, 12:09 PM Tony Hawk's the mother****ing man and that will never change. In regards to his decisions regarding non-skateboarding material such as the roller coaster: if Six Flags came to you offering you 2 mil to put your name on some ride, even if it were a ****ing carousel, you know you would do it. Jay Santos 06-13-2008, 01:29 PM Willy Santos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hawk's street skills were more than respectable in that video. I didn't know Berra rode vert. Thanks for posting that. U Guys Changed My Mind So Thanks For The Insight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've lost all faith in you. :( hokus pokus 06-14-2008, 04:22 PM tony hawk has done more for YOU than you even know... because of him and his organization, we have skateparks being built all the time. any more are in the plans of being built daily. this is because, tony is a leader and put himself out to public (which 99% of skaters would not want to deal with). through him, we had the 1st of decent skateboard video games! (which might have inspired you to start)! i know sometimes pro's read some of these forums... if tony, you happen to read this, i want to thank you for everything you have done! i dont think we can ever thank you enough.
