Anybody read the Odyssey, or any Homer?
any thoughts.
I'm a tiny bit into the Odyssey right now.
I really reallly wish i could have read it in it's native tongue.
it's the first thing i've ever really read like it, it's crazy how much has happened in such a short amount of time. With as much as already happened (Odyseus just set off for home), most books would be over by now. But with the poetry format, it seems endless. Theres still so much left.

You definatly should read The Illiad, its the story of the Trojan War, and leads directly up to the Odyssey. I loved the Odyssey, but it pales in comparison to The Illiad, in my opinion.

I read the Odyssey for Language Arts. It was a good book but it was hard for me to follow along on some of the things going on. My favorite part of the book it when they are trying to escape from the Cyclops.

I had to read a lot of that and watch the movie for it in my 9th grade english class.
Personally, I rejoiced when we were through with it.
