simple question, you think they're overdoing the franchise?

in the next 8 months, we're going to see the release of:
~guitar hero: aerosmith
~guitar hero DS
~guitar hero 4: world tour
~guitar hero: metallica

I think they should have scraped the side projects of aero/metallica, released 4 and then offered aero/metallica as downloadable add ons for half the price or something. Dont get me wrong, I'll be getting aero/4/metallica, but it would have been a lot more cost efficient to release as add on content, because really its the same game with the same functions, just new songs...

and seriously, whats the point of a DS version? kinda defeats the purpose...

guitar hero: aerosmith will be much better than metallica, more popular that is. ds is just for poor people who can't afford a 360, and 4 is just going to be an amazing game.

i'm willing to bet any money that i'm the first person on SC to 5* all songs on expert :].

Aerosmith should be good simply cause they're such an iconic rock group. I really hope they do a good job on the charts, unlike in Rock the 80's where almost every song had terrible charts.
Metallica will be good if they actually represent metallica through it's progression as a band. Otherwise, thats another one down the drain.

the DS one is probably going to suck. its gunna come with the game, and another insert thing for where Game boy advanced games go. and the thing you put in the GBA slot, is like the guitar hero buttons. so their going to force you to hold that tiny piece of garbage, squint your eyes to see the stupid colors going down. and hit buttons on a tiny insert thing.

I think Guitar Hero went to far a while ago. Its just stupid now. for one its boring. and just with all the new games their making as add-ons or whatever its stupid. are any of them even as big as the tracklist of the regular game? or is it like Rock the 80's where its like 20 songs for $50.

supposedly both world tour and aerosmith are gonna have 20% more songs than number 3. Thats the circulating rumor at this point, we'll have to wait once they're released for a sure sign though.

hmm ive always been a real big fan when it comes to music games such as guitar hero/rockband/etc. i already have rock band, so why get guitar hero 4? its gonna be exactly like it except for the add a song software (thats what i heard at school). ill probably get world tour and metallica though. i dont know aerosmith that well to buy a game for the band.

can't wait for Guitar Hero 4. the others i really could care less. hahahaha

the ds one is epic fail, guitar hero has its own channel on youtube, and they had a tutorial on how it works - and from what i saw it seems really stupid and pointless.

i might get the aerosmith one at some point, but most likely not the metallica one - i dont like them very much.

i think what there doing is milking as much cash as they can right now cause there other franchise, Hawk is being worked on to compete with Skate and won't be seen till 2009

by releasing guitar hero 4 they obviously just went and probably stole a bunch of features and ideas from rock band and are gonna make them seem cool. i hate guitar hero anyway. go play a real guitar.

guitar hero is beating itself in the head with a gibson. they need to stop making a new game every year (pretty much). I rented the first one and got bored of it fast. since then I hated gh.

Yes they are over doing it. I was in F.Y.E the other day in the mall and they even have a hand helded pocket size guitar hero. Its the shape of a guitar with the buttons on it and a screen on it.

He plays the guitar version on his drums, and recently hooked up his keyboard the same way he hooked up his drums to play the guitar version.

I'm down for Aerosmith. They've got some great riff's, really funky and interesting. If I can play "love in an elavator" then I'm a happy camper!

They should just take the time to make it a less boring game. take longer than a year to release a new game. its been the same thing with Tony Hawk games also. The more they made the more boring they became to me. They just need to stop putting out the same game with different songs. Make it different for once.

Unless your like me and find Rock Band a million times better due to the option to play different things. I hate guitar hero cause if you get bored of guitar your ****ed! I'll save up for Rock Band 2 and hope they had a bass single player world tour instead of just being able to play bass multiplayer and online.
